Talk about a SWEET little cafe (with internet !) to eat and hang out in. Nice and clean, los banos nice and clean, staff nice and clean, tables nice and clean, kitchen nice and clean, floor nice and clean, I think you get the drift.
There is a huge juice station to make what ever your heart's desire. Day 1 I had watermelon juice, day 2 cantaloupe juice. Yes , it was all so pleasing I went back a second day for breakfast again.
My server Saul spoke pretty good English, and we had fun going thru my Spanish phrase book. At one point a single young guy (looked European) ate really fast ,paid, and boogied. He left his wallet on the table, and Saul sprinted down the block to return it to him. So not the typical image we have of Mexican nationals in tourist towns.
If you are in Playa, please stop here to eat, have a coffee, or a juice, and enjoy a quaint, charming little restaurant. Tip as if you are in the states ! Bonus - both meals were delightful and expertly prepared to my Scandinavian specifications. :-)
Chilito Rojo is Not on the crowded Ave 5, the tourist street, and the reasonable prices reflect that fact. Double reason to love this place.
