Esperamos volver pronto!

Five for the service and atmosphere, 3.75 for the food…read more The room is beautiful and the murals make a lovely backdrop for the meal. Be aware that the prices are high for the locale. There is an English menu available online but not in the restaurant. Here's where I get confused. The service is excellent, full white tablecloth treatment, old-school European style. No detail is missed. Then we get to the food. It's really pretty good, all told. Here's where the attention to details goes sideways. The bread rolls felt as if they had been sitting since yesterday. The beans, although delicious, had sat around on the plate long enough to be room temperature and develop a crust. The totopos stuck in the beans were in the beans long enough to get soggy. The rice served alongside the moles was barely above room temperature and a bit dried out. All the food, in general, needed to arrive from the kitchen much warmer. Essentially, anything that could be made ahead of time was, and then left sitting out. It doesn't fit and I don't get it.

Yumm any time of the day, this kitchen has it all!…read more La Tradicion is located amoung other small restaurant in the NW part of the Zocalo, just tothe right corner of the Palacio Municipal (the governor's house) and to the left of the Cathedral, again everything happens right at the Zocalo (the central plaza) where youcan admire any celebration that happens year around, and the best thing is that you can take a seat at the terrace side of La Tradicional and have a great meal along with the site. When my mom and I arrived to Puebla we were so hungry and it seemed kinda late for us to pick a place, La Tradicional made an exception and feed us that night. Because we were going t be here for just a few days, we knew we needed to get our food adventure started soon. The staff (any one really) were so kind to let us know the popular spots as well as their recommended places to eat. We thought it was the kindest thing for them to do since it seem like a good idea to take the local's advised aside from the ones we see on yelp and other vacationing sites. Every morning we would stop in and have breakfast here. EVERYTHING in their menu is delicious, from the classic enchiladas verdes with fresh squeeze OJ with fresh seasonal fruit to their specialty cemitas and totopos. Their bread for the cemitas is soft and feels fresh, not like other places we visited and had cemitas where their bread was hard and had an day-old taste to it, not here! everything is always so fresh and made daily. Everything we had here for the whole week that we were in town was delightful, but one of my favorite dishes to order one cold morning was their Sopa Azteca. small plate with all the dry ingredients and a hot pot of broth to the side, just perfectly poured over once it arrives at the table. the crispy chili on top gives the soup that perfect spicy kick to the rest of the broth. To be here in Puebla was part of my mom's and my bucket list to visit, aside from the food, museums, fed. buildings, historical statues and hidden historical treasures. Traveling abroad to visit magic towns and some wonders of the world is a must do while visiting, but La Tradicion keeps it real with authentic dishes. So if you are in the area, stop by, enjoy the singing from the people from Puebla , grab a chair and order you won't be disappointed.
