THE VIEWS!!! If you go for nothing else it's got to be for the view. But the food makes it 5 star. The wait staff is extremely helpful and for those who speak little to no Spanish they have a QR code for the English menu.

Look at these Chalupas, not appetizing or authentic.

Overpriced, not authentic Mexican food. Paid too much for these Chalupas!! Ambience was meh.

Carne asada. It was okay. The meat needed more seasoning.

I read great reviews about Comal and wanted to try it. I think it's better for breakfast. Their chilaquiles look bomb! My friend and I shared a carne asada and enchiladas de tres moles. The mole poblano was very good and the pipián rojo was decent. Unfortunately the pipián verde was not good at all. The carne asada was also just okay. The meat needed more seasoning. The refried beans and guacamole were great though! The service here was not good at all. We had to ask multiple times for things. Although there were not many customers the waiters seemed to care less that we were just sitting there. I would return to try breakfast here, but I wouldn't come back for lunch or dinner.

My husband and I visited Comal for breakfast during our first to Puebla--what a gem! We sat on the second floor with an amazing view of the Puebla Cathedral. The servers were also incredibly friendly and welcoming. The food was very delicious with generous portions. I highly recommend visiting this restaurant during your time in Puebla!

We looked for a family friendly place to eat while in Puebla. This is a great location to try local flavors that are authentic and well crafty. This restaurant offers a variety of classics local to Puebla, such as Molé, Cemitas, and the like. The service was very good, and we felt well attended to. The views from the upstairs dining area are incredible and cannot be beat! We enjoyed a variety of dishes as well as local drinks, such as Horchata, and other Aguas Frescas. The pricing was a little bit higher than other restaurants in the area ,but as this is a tourist destination, it was somewhat expected. Ample seating and bathrooms make this place even better! Be sure to ask to sit upstairs.

From the exterior, there is not much to be seen as it seems like a huge place with a kitchen, as the kitchen is on the ground floor. Right in front of Publas main cathedral, I think it's a cathedral, pretty much on the main square of the city, filled with colourful buildings, colonial buildings, and great food. Once you pass the kitchen area, which we were greeted with enthusiasm and smiles, the place becomes colourful and eye-catching. I opted for the balcony for a great morning view. The place is mainly local Mexican cuisine. Food from Puebla like cemitas, any type of mole, and chiles en nogada mainly in the august/September season due to the pomegranate being in season in the region. I decided on the chilaquiles and the small sample of three cemitas. For the small sample of cemitas you get to choose what you want inside. I went for pipian, chicharron, and potatoes with like serrano or jalapeno peppers. The bread of the cemitas was fresh and fluffy. We are given sauces and blue corn chips as a small starter. The chilaquiles were very good but did not enjoy the chicken, it looked very fake due to the perfectly cut rectangles, not sure maybe it's beaten up flat and seasoned. You do get like a whole avocado on your plate, not cost as an American point of view this is a relief. For a drink, I opted for green juice. Very good, fresh, and tasty. My partner's food was good too, with red chilaquiles and an egg and a black coffee. The view is pleasant while admiring the colourful art and bubbly quotes from the inside. Take a photo.

Mollete de cemita, café de olla and a green juice!

Everything was delicious!! The view was lovely, and they were able to accommodate our modifications (like adding egg to a cemita)

We had lunch there today on the upper floor with view on the cathedral. Service staff were very nice and helpful. Good was excellent. I can highly recommend

Three mini cemitas: pepian verde & rayas con papas were my favorites. Hubby had a milenesa de pollo cemita. Yum!

Great simple cemitas (sandwiches) in a really nice second floor dining room overlooking the main church square. We let the waitstaff know we only had 30 minutes to eat so she recommended which items on the menu look the least amount of time - super helpful!

Chile con huevo de la Sierra Excellent with a kick

Five for the service and atmosphere, 3.75 for the food…read more The room is beautiful and the murals make a lovely backdrop for the meal. Be aware that the prices are high for the locale. There is an English menu available online but not in the restaurant. Here's where I get confused. The service is excellent, full white tablecloth treatment, old-school European style. No detail is missed. Then we get to the food. It's really pretty good, all told. Here's where the attention to details goes sideways. The bread rolls felt as if they had been sitting since yesterday. The beans, although delicious, had sat around on the plate long enough to be room temperature and develop a crust. The totopos stuck in the beans were in the beans long enough to get soggy. The rice served alongside the moles was barely above room temperature and a bit dried out. All the food, in general, needed to arrive from the kitchen much warmer. Essentially, anything that could be made ahead of time was, and then left sitting out. It doesn't fit and I don't get it.

Arrived at 6:15pm and sadly, much like most restaurants in Puebla these days, the beautiful dinning rooms were without patrons. Do not take this as a sign of a problem with the restaurants; it is a sign of the Mexican economy, fear of travel to Mexico and results of the current US President's actions. In any event, there are two dinning rooms, the first one is less formal and only had tables for 5 or more, but has a beautiful carved wood alter and is inviting. We chose to go ahead and sit at large table in the informal dinners area. Wait staff was attentive and while I was attempting to improve my Spanish, I did ask for an English menu and the had them. Also the staff were happy to explain ingredients we had not heard of such as an edible semi-succulent leaf that accompanied 2 of my 3 dishes. The meal started with an amuse-bouche of the day, which was like tiny empanada. We requested margaritas mas fuerte and were happy we did. The next dish we both order was the both beautiful and tasty Tayuda Itsmeña. This dish is substantial enough to constitute a whole meal! My second dish was the salmon tartar which was delicious and equally beautiful. The salmon flavor was a bit overpowered, but I loved the sweet flavors of the mango sauce and passion fruit intertwined with the raw red onions and cabbage strips. For mains I had the chicken breast and my friends dined on the filet fillet mignon both dishes had HUITLACOCHE as an ingredient and both were delicious! The deserts were very interesting. My dinner companion enjoyed a sponge cake made with special leaves that was presented with crystalized parsley and arranged to look like trees in a terrarium. As for price, this is the most expensive restaurant I have been to in my week of dining in Puebla, however my (1person) total bill for 3 courses, a margarita and a still-water was $26.50 which is less than a main course alone in a less nice restaurant in California. If you want a fine dinner or are a foodie this is your place.

Despite the room temperature food, the service was great and the flavors were good. I'm hesitant to return to eat, simply because of the low amount of people there and it took quite some time for the food to arrive to our table. I would go for the décor and setting. So you have to take the elevator up once you get upstairs to the course amazing and meet the standard of every Mexican restaurant very sleek, clean, modern beautiful. The waiter that had us was a bit presumptuous, and his joke of guessing who could speak Spanish, and pointing out that I could not when I could. But I allowed him to make the comments and have the conversation because I like listening he took upon himself to tell me what type of drink I would like, and when I went to enter, Jack walked off to make it. So when he brought it back, I kindly told him in Spanish that I don't like drinks with pulp. the lobster risotto is underwhelming. It looks very great and is plated very well with the taste is not there for me. The tacos were amazing and the drink that I photographed was the one I ordered.
