The owners are amazing people with tremendous swiss/french warmth. The husband Stefan is an amazing chef and served one of the most fantastic three course meals of the trip. Endless 'off piste' ski area. Big difference between the Alps and the US. Above the tree line, everything 'off piste' is game and ungroomed. All the trails are groomed nightly. Below tree line, same same, trails don't blend in like they do above the tree line. Anyway, hot freshly cooked lunch on the mountain, set us back $31, two beers cost a wopping $10, vail, sun valley and all the others should take a page out of this playbook. Anyway, the Alps offer FKN epic vista's, swing the plane tix, hop the pond, and you're in ski-heaven! Oh yeah, I almost forgot, the longest lift line was 4-5 min take that Steamboat!

There was Nordic skiing 15 mins away follow the river. Rent Nordic ski from Intersport across the trails for Eu10 per person. Some good restaurant & bakery around hotel. No need to walk too far. Catch the electric town bus for free to the main bus station in chamonix sud. Laundry available on the main shopping mall with free WiFi and soap included for Eu5.5. Staff were friendly. Store your skis or snow board in the basement locker. There is no house keeping so keep your towels for repeat use. 2 bathrobes provided for each room.

We had a family suite, which had an area with a king size bed, a separated area with a bunk bed for the kids, toilet in a separated room and ample bathroom with bath tube. It was perfect for us, very spacious and comfortable. On the roof top there was a spa, with a couple of saunas, a heated pool, jacuzzi and beautiful view of the city and the alps. We got here a bit early on the check in day, but there were able to take take of our luggage while we perused the city. Cant complain and would stay here again

The second morning all I heard was banging which I assumed was the two other rooms where our doors are all inches apart. I finally turned and a large man was standing at my bedside. I was so terrified I screamed out. The man left the room and the cleaning woman stood apologizing, her English being very poor. I called downstairs and spoke to Ali the manager. Calmly I tried to explain what had happened. He told me he was aware and gave several excuses. 1. The sign to not disturb wasn't on the door. Not true. 2. I didn't lock the door. Untrue. That's why they brought the maintenance man in to open the door. 3. They were worried about me. Not true. It was 9 am and I had neither been drinking or making any kind of noise the previous night or ever. What shocked me most was they could not accept how frightening this could be for a woman alone. I was asked by the manager Ali --"May I ask, why are you so upset? I was trying to stress that the man should never enter the room first and alone. To which I was told "you're a strong woman, why are you frightened?" It felt surreal. The assistant Dylan also lacked any sense of empathy or ownership. I was told "ok, this is over now, you are safe, no need to worry." And got up and walked away. I spoke with the travel agent who contacted the hotel and was told "the issue was resolved" They said it was resolved and so then the issue was resolved. It was not resolved for me. The hotel bed was insanely hard. I used the bed cover on top of the mattress to soften it and make it sleepable. Never, under any circumstances would I recommend this hotel. I had to give it one star as mandated by YELP

This hotel is right next to the station just a few steps walk after getting off the bus so really convenient. Standard rooms very small with tiny windows. Too soft bed. Not bad breakfast (although not necessarily included in the room rate and not cheap at an additional 20 euro). Outdoor swimming pool not large enough for laps swimming. Overall a good location if you want to be next to the bus station and it's just a 15 min walk to town center.

I would have been happy to take care of these issues privately but now I am left no choice. -Our dates were incorrect checking in -Our NYE reservations was not on file -Our parking was not on file -Our sink was broken for 3 days, we begged for it to be fixed, when it was on the 3rd day the maintenance man left a mess ruining our toothbrushes and many other cosmetics that we had to throw away (We were compensated $100, which is not sufficient). -There was no soap in the lobby bathroom for 2 days, which means that people used it and did not wash their hands, I asked every time I saw it for it to be replaced. -Upon check out I was told American Express was not accepted and was told the staff would take me to the bank to get money, totally unprofessional. -I asked for an invoice or receipt for charges in the room and I was told that wasn't possible. -There was garbage outside of the hotel every day that was not picked up for the entire week.

It is a cozy old school place smack dab in the middle of the town. Amazing breakfast buffet with great breads, meats, cheese, tarts, and fruits. Heck you can walk across the street and get a great beer on tap at The Office. Close to restaurants, Patisseries, and shops. Sad news is the Hotel has been sold and is planned for a huge redevelopment .....translate modern and very expensive. Visit while you can
