I've used this company a few times and am very satisfied with them. Last summer, our central air…read moreconditioner was not kicking out cold air and Quality came out and swapped out the capacitor. The repair price was definitely competitive. At one other house in Illinois that I lived in, that air conditioner needed a new capacitor and the guy told us that the whole unit needed to be replaced. So when I hear someone tell me the truth that only the capacitor needs to be changed, it strikes me as an honest person. Just about a month ago, our gas furnace heater was not turning on. We had one guy come out and told me that I needed a specific part, and I went to Lubbock to get it. That part did not fix the issue. Then I called another company out, and they told me that I needed a different part and wanted me to go to Lubbock to get it. That's about $20 in gas round-trip. When I called Quality out, the same guy came out and told me that I needed the same part as the previous guy, but Quality went and got the part themselves. This was a relatively major repair and the cost seemed fair. I highly recommend Quality Air Heating & Air Conditioning.

This…read morebusiness in Plainview, we bought a house in Lubbock, that has a system installed in Nov 2022 (only 7 months till current date), called them multiple times and every single time was terible and disgusting interaction. The first time the system was not running, Larry, complained and blamed construction company, which might be true. The second time we called because there was not sufficient cooling in part of the house, we called and asked if they could do an estimate, they again blamed construction even though there is no construction anymore. Larry refused to come out to have a look because it is too far and said he would only do it if it we pay him $85/h for 2 hours of driving and how many hours of working. I got other companies took a look and they all agreed that the design was flawed, there is not enough supply and return to that part of the house. Worse, when Quality Air installed it, they got the supply line in a larger duct compared to the return line. Last incident, just yesterday July 2023, only 8 months after the installation, the hvac stopped blowing cold air. We called them, Larry again complained about it might be dust and construction. However, he still did come out. Turned out it was a blown compressor. Larry did not really care to give a quote on replacing the compressor and just said he did this job (install the hvac) for a friend (the previous owner) so he has no obligation any more. He said there is no labor warranty on the system. Again, this is only 7 months after installation. This would be our last interaction with them. The worst thing on all of this is the unprofessionalism, continuing blaming of contruction while it was not true any more and the complains about having to drive too far. We were always courteous when we called yet every time Larry called, it was all about construction causing too much dust, too far away, etc. No professionalism whatsoever. Things go bad, we understand that but the way the conversations were handled was unbelievably bad. I would leave 0 star if i could

After a week, they came in to make the repairs and cut another hole crooked and took all the pieces they cut in the hallway and in the unit with them, which makes repairing the hole more difficult and takes longer. They dropped the hatch in the ceiling and cut into the wall without asking if anyone had allergies..or are asthmatic, which I am. I was trying to have conversations with law enforcement and others and they had NO consideration! Arrived without any notice to set a time. Furthermore, there was a BRAND NEW TOILET SEAT COVER put on two days prior. The worked needing done was above the toilet and in the shower so --- the bright idea of the day ---- the worker decided to stand on top of it in his work boots.... And DID NOT TAKE 2 MINUTES TO COVER THE SEAT... so it got ALL SCRATCHED UP! Lastly, they did NOT CLEAN UP ANYTHING AND LEFT A MESS - water on the toilet seat - not wiped off.... Debris everywhere and big holes in the wall in the bathroom and in the hallway outside my unit 338. No consideration for the human being in the unit and their time and how they were going to clean up a huge mess and replace a brand new item! I would recommend checking elsewhere! The marks and wetness are difficult to see but I marked all the black chips and marks that won't come off just because something couldn't be lied over it .

First, after 2 months, the tech from Thornton came to fix our AC, I could see him outside in the heat repairing the unit, he even stayed overtime to finish. Then my garbage disposal stopped working, I hadn't used it since I avoided everything because of the heat. We tried to fix it but only succeeded sending brackish water to the dishwasher. I got some good feedback on how to clean that mess up too. I would day Bruce Thornton runs a great company and has quality personnel. If I ever get a house I will be calling them for support.

He told me what he thought it was before he came out and gave me an estimate on that problem while we were on the phone. He showed up clean and was always polite. He showed me the problem part before he replaced it so I knew he wasn't just replacing a part to jack up the bill. It didn't take a full hour to troubleshoot and repair so he didn't charge me for a whole hour. I am beyond pleased with their service from start to finish. I was so impressed, I've asked him to come out this fall to give my heating unit a check up before I turn it on.

1/5 -- We needed a second opinion, not a sales presentation…read moreA technician from Absolute came to our home through American Home Shield after we requested a second opinion on our AC claim. He was fully aware that this was a home-warranty service call and that we were seeking an independent second opinion after AHS denied our claim. We also happen to carry two home warranties and were comparing the coverage each company would provide for the same AC failure. Unfortunately, our experience with Absolute felt much more like receiving a sales lead than receiving an independent diagnostic evaluation. During the visit, the technician told us we "might" get approved for a replacement through AHS, but characterized what AHS might provide as essentially builder-grade and said it would "only be enough to get the job done." He then spent approximately 20-30 minutes discussing why we should purchase a larger/upgraded system instead. We felt obligated to sit through an extensive sales presentation while waiting for what we thought was supposed to be a second diagnostic opinion. What makes this particularly frustrating is what happened afterward. A day or two later, while the temperature inside our home was around 90 degrees, I contacted Absolute because we hadn't received an update. I was eventually told that the technician had placed our claim "on hold" because he was "waiting to hear back from us" and "knew our claim was going to be denied." That was incredibly upsetting. If the technician believed from his visit that our warranty claim would be denied, we should have been told. Instead, we spent additional days believing a second-opinion determination was being processed while apparently the contractor was waiting to see whether we would purchase equipment. We weren't sitting in a 90-degree house trying to decide whether to buy an upgraded AC from Absolute. We were comparing coverage between two home warranty companies. When I explained this to the office, the conversation became defensive, and I repeatedly had to make clear that we were not purchasing an AC system from Absolute. We ultimately contacted our other home warranty company and told them to proceed. They had already approved our condenser replacement and immediately moved the process forward. The most frustrating part is that we had a backup option. Absolute's handling of this second-opinion visit contributed to approximately another week without working AC when we could have simply proceeded with our already-approved replacement. I really feel for homeowners who don't have that option. Most people don't maintain two home warranties. When someone's AC is out during a Texas summer, they're depending on the dispatched contractor to diagnose the equipment and promptly report the findings to the warranty company. A home-warranty service call should not leave the homeowner wondering whether the priority was completing an independent diagnosis or converting the service call into an equipment sale. Thankfully, we had another warranty company and another path forward. We will not use Absolute for our replacement.

After speaking with them and them understanding my situation they were able to get here the next day. I got a new heating and air conditioning unit and went ahead and had my hot water heater replaced because it was very old. I got a new hot water heater, a new heating and air conditioning unit, a new thermostat and a new friend in Nugent. It is now the end of January and I have had no problems with anything that they did for me. I am still I'll but I am warm. I will never use anybody except for Nugent mechanical and I suggest to anybody needing help with the services they provide to call them first. You will be happy about choosing Nugent. They are kind, courteous, professional and affordable.

It is now Wednesday (June 1st) in the afternoon and we just had a contractor call to come fix the AC. He was unprofessional, blamed the rental company and short with me. I told him we no longer needed him as by the grace of God, another contractor with the same company had already come out Monday since we had an inside contact with and old property manager who was able to get the contractor out to fix the AC in what literally took 10 minutes (capacitor). The contract on the phone this afternoon blamed them being short staffed, behind and having only one technician working on the holiday. Appliances don't take holidays so that was unacceptable. Would not recommend this company as they clearly lack customer services, resources, and care for customers. Thank God we only went 1.5 days without AC in this triple digit heat which otherwise would have been 4 days!! DO NOT USE NUGENT.
