Our new house has a fireplace and we are right at 1 month in the house and finally had a chimney inspection and sweep! Before moving in, we renovated and redid the fireplace inside and while all the construction was going on we discovered a leak in the chimney! Turned out we needed a new chimney cap and some other repairs. After all that and the chilly weather we have been having, I had John book us an inspection and sweep. I didn't want to take any chances with the new house! We scheduled a level II inspection and sweep. There was a wait to get an appointment- but today they were 10 minutes early and took about 40 minutes for the two men to check and clean our chimney. They said it was one of the cleanest they had ever seen! I'm sure the new cap helped- but also they believe the chimney was barely used. The gentleman (Michael) who came into the house was very professional- he removed his shoes, made sure to lay down a drop cloth and even covered the front of the fireplace to keep any soot to a minimum. Our report is very thorough- everything is to code and in good condition. And I currently have a fire blazing even though it's not too chilly out! Had I known the leak was not so much the roof- but a chimney problem, I probably would have had a quote from this company! read more

It took these people 5 months to install an electric unit. They will not work with you regarding payment plans.

Called because bird got into my wood stove, Explained it had been inspected last year and only installed since 2022. Company recommended level 2 inspection. Once guy got here cleaned it then went to roof to inspect cap which is what I needed not the unnecessary level 2. Was charged $199 and told cap would cost $350 or more. Called Hudson Chimney in Middleberg which installed wood stove and holds certified classes for chimney service people. Was told the cap has a life time guarantee and they will replace for free. My suggestion: Do not call these people unless absolutely necessary. It was my fault I failed to call Hudson at first and thought I'd try a chimney service locally. The last cleaning was done by another company which only charged $99 for cleaning. My suggestion: Search before selecting any company and the best bet is going to the company that installed it. read more

Hadn't used our fireplace in several years and just b4 Christmas noticed water leaking out of the front vents. Contacted what few companies that do chimney/fireplace work around here and got in touch with Chimney Champions. Arranged for a tech to come out and inspect the chimney/fireplace and it was determined that there was severe water damage to the cap and the interior of the fireplace. The tech (Evan) recommended a new cap and we were given complete pics of everything that was damaged in order to make a decision. He also replaced the tarp that we were using to keep the rain out as well. After considering it all & being given all our options we contacted C.C. and had them return to place a new fabricated cap on the Chimney. The tech (Wayne) was courteous and explained everything he was going to do. The replacement was performed quickly and so far we're very satisfied with their results. Can't say enough how friendly and courteous everyone that we've dealt with has been, even though the inspection & cap replacement wasn't cheap it needed to be done & I would highly recommend them for your chimney & fireplace needs. read more

Wanted payment up front, then said at time of service was ok. Found out we had a wood burning stove attached ( which we going to remove for them) and they were very strict in assuming this was unsafe with out even coming out. We cancelled service appointment. read more

They were more than professional, went above & beyond the call of duty. Since our chimney was ruined due to the negligence of the previous home owner, they helped us get in touch with a company who created a cap (to stop further water damage) & then once we were able to get the cap they came & put it on for no extra charge. Called just to have a new cap put on because my old one was not to code, as I had the chimney cleaned and swept and inspected last year. I got an email for the job to be done with a pre-payment clause for over $359. I refused to pay it untill the work was done. Well, they needed to do a sweep and inspection anyway so I agreed. The fellow that came was very professional, made sure he covered the floor to keep it free from dirt, used his hightech equipment to look into the flute, take pictures and made sure it was clear. There was very little soot per the gentleman. I had this done in Novemver last year when my home was purchased, and I had it swept and cleaned in end of Dec, why I needed another done I don't know. I received my inspection by email with my quote for a cap, my original call to them to do. Well to my surprise the cap was going to cost over $589 and an additional $133 for a piece of covering to hold the cap in place. As you can guess I cancelled the order. Although the worker was very qualified to do the job he deserves a 4 star, I felt the pricing was totally out of control. Thus the 2 star rating for the company because of over charging and having to do unnecessary, additional work I probably didnt need. read more

Buyer beware!!! Once the chimney sweep cleaning was done I encountered a problem when I turned the gas fireplace on and soot from the cleaning was distributed throughout my house. My husband and I also inhaled it and upon blowing our noses filled kleenex with soot that we had inhaled. A second inspection was done to determine what caused the soot distribution and I was verbally told there was an issue with the vermiculite chimney installation and the fire logs were not properly reinstalled after the cleaning. When I turned the fireplace on the gas forced soot that had settled in the installation to be distributed throughout the house. I have asks repeatedly for a copy of that review and have been ignored. I have also asked for this company to take responsibility for the cost of the cleaning and have yet to receive any response about that request. I've been told the soot distribution was caused by something I did. Really, I turned on my fireplace after a cleaning and soot is everywhere in my home. Prior the the cleaning I would turn on my fireplace and NEVER had soot distributed throughout my house. It's a shame and a disgrace that a company will not stand up for a problem that arose after a cleaning was performed by their workers. read more
