Subpar even for a neighborhood Chinese restarurant. The food at this location has been going downhill for a while now. Anything with chicken is typcially slathered in a syrup sauce with no flavor at all. The fried rice with pork has little to no pork in it and tastes like it was steamed in dirty mop water. This place was soooo good! We ordered take out around 7pm and it was here at a little after 8. The delivery was truly contactless and the whole ordering process was smooth. My sister and I are very picky about chicken from restaurants and this one passed the test. Everything tasted amazing and we didn't get that post-MSG feeling that usually accompanies take out food. I love egg foo young and was desperate to get some. My husband picked up my order then went off with friends. I was so excited. I opened the container expecting my long awaited egg foo young. What a disappointment!! The first bite tasted like spoiled meat (pork egg foo young). NASTY My husband said he wasn't surprised. No one was in the restaurant except the cashier. Do take out, food is ready timely and have been getting our Chinese food from these guys for over 15 years. Crabmeat Rangoon the best we have ever had. Lo mein is always spot on and order extra for additional days. Soups are great. Staff is friendly. They have removed most of the tables leaving limited seating. read more

I've been ordering dinner on New Year's Eve from China Garden for the last 3 years and they never disappoint. This year was no different and I still had the same consistent Chinese food. Though the prices have increased from last year, I don't mind as I know it's supporting a small business. They do not have dine in service currently, but they were wearing masks and were practicing social distancing for the walk up orders. Their beef and broccoli is great and doesn't have a gel like sauce consistency. I also can't complain about their egg rolls that are filled to the brim with no room left for air pockets. If you have a little extra to spare, I recommend doing the upgrade from white rice to the pork friend rice with a meal and order an extra bag of crispy noodles with your extra duck sauce to dip them in. This little Chinese restaurant is reminiscent of the 1950's neighborhood family dine in spot. I really wish they would open back up for dine in service, but that ended with the Covid 19 horror show. Before 2020, as soon as you sat down your waiter/waitress used to bring out a bowl of delicious thick fried noodles, the frito sized kind, and a bowl of sweet and sour sauce for dipping. It was their version of chips and salsa. we really enjoyed that little extra. Now, however, we must take out when we have a yen for Chinese cuisine. The take out menu has it all - not PF Chang oriental fusion, but the traditional fare. I especially like the Sesame and General Zoas Chicken. My husband enjoys the Shrimp with Green Peppers and Tomato. Their egg rolls are full size, and the fried rice delicious. To each his own, but I enjoy the food way more than the trendy new exotic style Asian restaurants. I've never had a bad meal. We have frequented The China Garden for seven years. Honestly I was so surprised. I've lived in Kansas City and currently live in California, and haven't been able to find a great Chinese take out place like this. I grew up here and thought it was nostalgia. But I ordered some food the other day on a trip visiting family and that was some of the best chines take out I've ever had! Sweet and sour chicken was top notch. Beef lo mein was absolutely incredible. Some of the best I've ever had. Beef in a stick/crab Rangoon/steamed dumplings were all fantastic. We were in Palm City on business and wanted to grab a quick lunch. After some good reviews on Yelp, we decided to give this place a try. Plus, we were craving some Asian food as it had been a few days. The prices were awesome. The lunch specials are like $7 and they come with 1 item, fried rice, and an eggroll. I got the baby shrimp in garlic sauce. The shrimp were tiny and lacked any real seafood flavor. There was no freshness to it. The garlic sauce was not spicy at all like advertised. We stopped using this restaurant several years ago due to poor service and 100% incorrect orders for 4 deliveries in a row. We just arrived back from the north for the season and decided to give them another try. Unfortunately, nothing has changed. The General Tso's Chicken was so bad my dog would not eat it. My husband and I have been ordering from China Garden for about 20 years ( since they opened). We have never been disappointed. The food is always good, and the staff are always friendly. I have read some of the reviews and am quite disappointed with them. Some people should really think of what they are saying and if they really feel this way, perhaps, they need to cook their own Chinese food. I like to cook and have made Chinese food, but it's easier to order and have a variety of different foods than make them. I currently live in a Wisconsin city that doesn't have a Chinese restaurant that I will order from which means I am particular with my food especially meat. Stopped by to order food to go. No greeting or acknowledgement of our presence. Should have taken the hint. Eventually ordered several appetizers and dishes. Clearly stated that we needed a couple of spoons and four forks as we were feeding a group of four at our hotel room. Went back fifteen minutes later. Only two plates in the bag. She added two more plates. I asked about forks and spoons. Said there were two of each and threw two more forks in. She was not amused with my inquiries. Not friendly at all. Sit down in our hotel room to eat. Not one napkin. Two spoons and three forks. Very difficult to eat noodle dishes with a spoon but one of us managed. Kind of took the edge off the meal. Food was acceptable, not bad, but not great. Nothing that would distinguish it from any of the hundreds of Chinese takeout meals I've had. The service was downright unfriendly, if not surly. We're new to the area and will not return. Too many other Chinese restaurants that may value our business. I hate to be treated that way. read more

My family and I have been coming to china garden for as long as i remember. Im taking YEARS. There has never once been a problem. My dad always thinks highly of this place. The staff is always super nice and recognize us every time. We go so much they know our order which i know if very restaurant like but we always go here. This place is #1 when we order takeout. I'm glad I found this place. Lately, the only Chinese places I have been to are buffet or take-out only. This place has 10 booths and 4 tables in the middle. They serve the usual hot tea and those fried noodles which were nice crispy (not stale). I had the pork egg foo young special which came with soup, egg roll, fried rice, and two foo young patties. I ordered the General Tso's Chicken combination to go at the front counter. The food was prepared rather quickly, most likely as a result of the place being empty early on a Monday evening. The egg roll was good. Not greasy. Chicken was good. Could have used some more of the sauce on the chicken to mix with the rice. The pork fried rice was okay. General Tso's is my favorite and it is the meal I use to rate a Chinese restaurant for future visits. I wasn't overwhelmingly impressed with the meal. I can't give it more or less than 3 stars at this time for having tried only one item. My husband and I frequently eat Chinese and China Garden is definitely my favorite in the area! I've only had the beef and broccoli (so good - I haven't brought myself to change it up!) and spring rolls and we've only ever gotten take out, but the quality is definitely better than that of any other Chinese restaurant I've been too in this area. WORST CUSTOMER SERVICE EVER!! I would love to give 0 stars but that doesn't happen. So I've been having many issues with this place in the last 6 months to a year, missing food items that I've paid for, and this time I had a wrong g food item so once again I had to call and tell them they messed up. The guy answered and he was beyond rude, once again to me. He continously told me I was wrong that I ordered egg rolls not spring rolls. So I told him to put the lady who took my order on the phone. He then told me she left and clocked out, I asked for a refund for just those since they refused to fix it once again, he told me no refunds he wouldn't help me also to never to call them again and to order from somewhere else, then proceeded to hang up on me. So I kept calling back to my surprise the lady answered, she then proceeded to tell me I was wrong till eventually she apologized and said we will send you what you ordered but we want the egg rolls back. I said fine but did color sharpie on them so they couldn't be resold. They sent out my spring rolls and the guy who answered the phone was the one to show up with my food, I told him how terrible of a manager he is and he should change professions if he doesn't want to help the customer. He was saying due to the last 8 times we ordered that we were missing something or had an issue. I proceeded to explain like I have over the phone everytime that there was an issue, how to fix it or just double check the bag before being sealed, he told me no, he doesn't have time for that, and due to how many problems we had he wanted us to check our bag of food when they drop it off infront of them which I have and they were still missing items. He then proceeded to tell me that they will no longer be coming out to our neighborhood because we are so far away (we are in tropical farms which is about 6 miles, "super far") he was the most unprofessional person I have ever dealt with. I have never ever been treated so poorly by a manager or a business in my life, especially a business that has been in the wrong this whole time! I will never recommend this restaurant to anyone ever again!! read more
