I called up a good friend in Astoria, NY who is in school for chinese medicine in the city. After scanning a few places she suggested Xuguang Gao based on his credentials and technique. That said I felt pretty confident going since it was my first time. My confidence level sky rocketed when i got the most comprehensive investigation into my medical history ever. Gao was very patient and really gave a thorough lecture on the process and philosophy behind acupuncture. The office was clean and the staff was very friendly. I left feeling relaxed and scheduled more sessions. My only problem is it is pretty pricy for me ($80 first session, $60 there after). They suggest going at least twice a week initially for the procedure to truly be effective. This is standard. They take OSU prime care so that might help some locals out. I found it to be so effective I'd sell my soul for some more.

I mentioned some of my issues to Nancy and she had me lay down and inserted the acupuncture needles in different parts of my body. She told to lay still and she'll be back in half an hour. She said it'd be best if I could go to sleep. I tried closing my eyes and relaxing. Idk if it was the new environment, but I was a little anxious and just kept looking at my watch. That's on me. It was closer to an hour when she returned. At that point I was just anxious to get the needles out and leave. In hindsight: the first half an hour was pretty relaxing. the warmth from light was nice and I even told her it feels similar to a hot stone massage. Nancy suggested I come back for treatment once a week. I'm planning to do a couple more visits since I've read such good things about Nancy. P.S the needles don't hurt. The initial prick might sting just a little but after that it's all good.

I discontinued treatment when I didn't see improvement. Turns out - I had the wrong diagnosis! Continuous PT at that time and finally an MRI - showed me the right area and I tried chiropractor and PT for treatment - unsuccessfully. Now years later, the problem has flared up as I have deeply engaged in yoga and running. I filled out the online new patient form as I had new goals I wanted to discuss. This location reached out to me so I scheduled an appointment here. The exterior is a bit questionable - and the area - but inside is absolutely lovely. The entire space has been remodeled and is quite appealing. The treatment room is the same as Westerville - awesome, huge, plush, leather recliners with soft music and dim lighting in the background. My clinician was knowledgeable and professional in the intake meeting. It was short and we proceeded to treatment. His touch was perfect in applying the pins. I struggled to relax as I had had difficult conversations earlier that day and they spun circles in my head. I should have hooked up to my meditation app and put on my headphones. Next time I will. I opted for 30 minutes - rather than just chilling out indefinitely and waiving them over when done. 30 minutes was about perfect as I started to fidget. The clinician quickly removed the pins and I was on my way. Later in the evening I felt wonderful - no pain and energy tingling when I attempted to meditate later. Still today - no pain. Fingers crossed we are on the right path! I've scheduled again for next week - looking forward to additional benefits! I highly recommend you check it out if you have any interest. It does not hurt at all and is, in fact, super-relaxing.

Dr Ding is absolutely amazing! He asks a lot of questions and is great about addressing symptoms of all kinds. Prior to getting pregnant, he helped me with getting my body stronger and healthier as well as providing suggestions for food and other ways to increase my chances. I'm now about 10 1/2 weeks and he is helping me stay pregnant as well as assist with my physical symptoms and anxiety. Because I was previously on migraine medications that I have not been able to take, he has been able target those areas and it's helped a ton. My nausea has also improved. Dr Ding is great at adjusting his treatments to suit your personal needs. He is also very kind and seems to genuinely want to help. He also practices Tui Na (pronounced "twee na") has some similarities to a Deep Tissue Massage, and uses kneading, chopping and stretching motions to relieve sore points and blockages in the body's muscular system.
