The venue is smaller than the location in Erlangen, but has also a Terrace with some places outside. It seems to be less frequented than the place in Erlangen and so this could be my favourite one. It is located within a Startup-Center (Medical Valley) and therefore the parking lot should be large enough on weekends ;-) We entered for Lunch and all of us ordered a Bento Box with some warm food and also Sushi. We had three times the roasted Duck Teryaki, Salad and some Sushi, one time with Sake (Salmon) Teryaki and same setup with Sushi and Salad. This comes with Miso soup before and if you like, some japanese Dessert. The room is dark furnitured and very "schlicht" - so without the "kitsch" you would find in a f.i. Chinese restaurant. Anyhow. The waiter service was outstanding quick, friendly and.... we would say - nearly perfect. The complete service team was authentic asian - another plus (but I bet these guys were from Vietnam or so). The food was served quickly. It was utmost tasty and I would say you can order anything and all offers a wonderful visual and sensual experience. The Dessert - small pancakes with sweet beans as filling - could have been made different. That was the only thing I would not order again. But hey. Oh well. Staff was super sweet. But the real surprise was the food! A feast for the eyes! Sushi platters come with bonsai trees, gyoza came with dry ice fog. The duck was the crunchiest ever had! And it stayed that way! We were all over the moon! And the prices were more than reasonable. 4 adults, full entrees with beverages for €75 plus tip. I've been wanting to try out Mongolian buffet for years now, and thankfully I finally got the chance to do so! The restaurant itself opened just recently, and the interieur is stunning. You have small alcoves and plenty of statues, plants and dividers everywhere - so, although the restaurant is huge, you never get the feeling of having too many people sitting around you. There is the possibility of ordering á la carte, but we chose to try out the buffet and it was most definitely the right decision! The buffet is basically divided into 4 smaller buffet areas: - starters/cold food/salad bar/sushi - normal asian buffet (plenty of warm, pre-cooked dishes including your usual duck, veggies, chicken etc.) - Mongolian grill (raw meat, fish, seafood & veggies) - dessert buffet (all kinds of fruit, cakes, pudding, a chocolate fountain, ice cream etc.) I was most curious about the Mongolian grill part: You pick the raw ingredients you want and then chose a sauce to go with it. You leave that next to the grill with a clip on the plate that is labelled with your table number. The raw ingredients are then turned into your very own freshly prepared meal and served to you at your table a couple minutes later. The quality of those ingredients was great, and the choice was rather exotic as well. You could try kangaroo and crocodile, parrotfisch and clams, mini-lobsters and various other things. You can basically eat as much as you like and as many courses as you wish, all for a ridiculously cheap 15,90€ (dinner buffet - the price for the lunch buffet is even cheaper). Considering the huge variety and the high quality of the food, this is a fair deal! I came across Kim Sa by accident as I was just walking from work to my hotel and the smell just drew me in. The restaurant was pretty busy but there is plenty of tables so I didn't have to wait long for a seat. I started with some summer rolls with shrimp, which are served with a peanut sauce, delicious. It was a rainy and cold night in Erlangen so a warm soup definitely caught my attention. I ordered the traditional Vietnamese soup with beef, it was delicious! I can't wait to go back to this restaurant and try some of the other dishes in the menu!
