There are few restaurants in the area. As a vegan, I knew there would be several options here, which there were. The staff were friendly and knowledgeable about vegan options and were able to customize the vegetable soup, kung pao chicken converted to kung pao tofu, and a vegetables/tofu dish. The food was delicious, flavorful, and very large portions. A great find in Tuba City. read more

A quirky little restaurant in a strip mall. It was clean and inviting, and all the staff were very pleasant and friendly. For a small place, it had a surprisingly extensive menu. Both our dishes, although excellent, came with unusual ingredients. My Ma Pa Tofu included shelled peas. My wife's Kung Pao Chicken had slices of zucchini. The spice level was perfect, and the portions were generous. The price was also extremely reasonable. This is a great place to eat in Tuba City. I should add - they heavily advertise their buffet, but don't offer it during the summer months. "Not until August" is what we were told. read more

We were pleasantly greeted by a friendly server as soon as we walked in. The restaurant appeared clean. The restroom area was older-looking than the dining area. There were no lunch specials, so my husband and I each ordered a dish. I had cashew chicken and he ordered teriyaki chicken. Both dishes came out quickly, hot and fresh, accompanied by rice. We found the food delicious. Servings were huge, so we each walked out with a to go container to enjoy another day. Service was outstanding from start to finish. read more

The tone and the demeanor of the waiter was as if this happens a lot at this establishment. Finding the hair in the food as well as the way this situation was handled, we didn't want a replacement. We were driving through this town from San Diego and we stopped for the night, the food options are slim and we wanted to avoid fast food. We were a little skeptical of the small town restaurants because we weren't sure what we were gonna get. But we went to this place and we were amazed. We had the best egg drop soup that we have ever had! And we also had orange chicken and wontons that were amazing. The portions were cheap and they were huge! The customer service was amazing. Really not bad--$9 for an all you can eat buffet including drinks is a great deal. There aren't many options in Tuba City as one knows so this place did the job for us when we were tired after a long day of work and wanted to eat quickly. The food is not the healthiest or freshest (avoid the seafood mix) but it's standard fare. Lots of different chicken options--similar flavors in different forms-- and not so many of other meats (including "love chicken" which was a first for me). Very friendly owners and wait staff. They will bring you fresh white rice to your table if you'd like, it's not sitting out in the buffet. I was very impressed that they have a boba bar though didn't try one or their bubble teas. The vibe was relaxed and chill with many families quietly sharing their meals. It was definitely a comforting experience though the food was just average. read more

We were passing through town and looking for a mexican restaurant. Tried this place instead. We had a pleasant meal and the service was good. Service is why you eat out anyway. It appeared to be owned by Chinese and the whole family was having a meal together at a long table. That is a good sign. I passed by to visit the "facility" and what they were having looked awesome. The food was okay. The fried rice was not fresh but not bad. The menu lacked any reference to items that were spicy. I ordered based on past experience in Chinese cuisine. The spicy type food (ordered Szechuan chicken) could have been a little more spicy and the non spicy (lemon chicken) could have had a bit more flavor per my wife. It may be because of local taste. The hot tea was perfect and really enhanced the meal. If I was in the mood for Chinese and was passing through I might stop again. read more

Left the Grand Canyon and started driving to the 4 corners monument when we realized we'd need to stop for the night. We were literally in the middle of nowhere. How fortunate we were to find China Star restaurant. They allowed us to look at the buffet before deciding to stay and eat. We could tell the food on the buffet had been out for awhile, but we're always about giving a place a chance, so we stayed and ordered from the menu. They took full advantage of the chance we gave them! Hard working, courteous staff who took great care of us. The manager came and checked on us and was very gracious. What was even better was the food! The portions were huge that my husband and I were able to share and still have left overs to take with us. The egg drop soup was awesome, and we were able to just relax and enjoy each other's company. I'm vegetarian and the options were limited but I ordered vegetarian chop suey & rice. It was very fresh & veggies were nice variety & crispy. We were staying at a local hotel and were pleased to find this place since my kids love Chinese. We didn't do the buffet, which looked like a fried food extravaganza. Instead, we ordered off the menu. Choices are limited and not explained, but if you eat Chinese regularly you will recognize all the standards. Food came out quickly, hot from the kitchen, with plenty of fresh veggies, and in generous portions. Entrees run about $10, but are big enough to share. They had nice level of sauce, but even though we asked for "spicy" they were still a little mild for our taste. Note there is no alcoholic beverages here. Apparently it is illegal to sell alcohol on the reservation. Overall a nice option in a land of fast food and pizza. read more

I ordered General tso's chicken which I though was fantastic and also the passionfruit smoothie which was AMAZING! Highly recommend it. Worst lowest quality ever. Bad customer service. Bus group tour chose it and asked us to pay $15 per person. The selections are very limited. The only dish without meat is soy cold tofu. I asked the owner to cook a veggie dish without meat. He rejected. He can simply cook a broccoli since there is a dish broccoli with beef. I walked away. My family of 4 had dinner there. The restaurant and selection was relatively small as far as buffets go, but given its remote location it's pretty good. The quality of food is pretty good, and at $9 for a buffet, it's a great deal.
