I go out of my way driving into Flagstaff so I can stop here, and I always stop on my way to Lee's Ferry or the North Rim. I can't believe I am the first to review this spot. My phone blows up if I simply text "Simpson's" to my facebook account. Everyone gets jealous! The only person whom ever said they were not impressed had ordered the burrito with out gravy. My friends, this is no diet joint. Come here ready to take in some caffeine and calories before a day filled with hard work, or hiking or fishing. What a great day it will be! **Tips on finding the Simpson's Market Deli** From Flagstaff: As you are entering Cameron via 89, it is the first building after the gas station. The deli entrance is on the left of the building. From Grand Canyon, Desert View: When you come to the T intersection of 64 and 89, cross right over into the Simpsons lot. For credit Card users: they accept credit cards, but I have found their machine to be unreliable. It does not accept my work card at all. Bring cash as a back up.

Guessing based on their breakfast that their lunch/ dinner is good... but it's hard to find good breakfast places and this is definitely one! * Highly recommend the Warrior Surprise and the Ranch Hand. *The Navajo taco with an egg anyway you want it... not only tasty but such a huge portion. Get the fresh onions and salsa on the side and you can decide how much you want if it. * The country fried steak was tender and that is some of the best gravy that comes with the Ranch Hand. Recommend opting for the fry bread for an extra 1.75... totally a treat! *Service was attentive and friendly * Dining room views of the outside was pretty. * Didn't stay at the lodge but would consider it given the pretty landscaping and access to a restaurant within walking distance... a good restaurant. *Clean restrooms *Can get busy when tour busses stop *Def will return

I'm not expert but I approach everything with unbiased expectations as much as possible. A quick Google search can provide high level insight even though it isn't necessarily consistent across all interactions or people. Initially I thought it was called Hogan because of a family last name but research suggested it is more about the Hogan traditional dwelling. Ambiance and decoration suggests that as well. Beautiful wood and earthy decor. Not overly bearing but rather great balance. People were kind but not overly attentive like I'm used to at American restaurants but again it is more aligned with communication styles and culture. Your experience could be different based on your server just like any other restaurant. Our server was kind, respectful and provided great service. He also would remember guests from different countries who shared sayings in their native languages which he repeated to us as greeting and also goodbyes. It was impressive and well thought which I appreciated. Now onto the food. I enjoyed my mutton stew with fry bread. I am used to more flavorful stews but this stew was cooked very well and delicious. I added a bit of salt and pepper but honestly it was good without it. Mutton was soft and not gamey. Vegetables were well cooked and soft. Fry bread was tasty and freshly fried. It was not overly greasy and excellent to rip and dip into the stew. I actually feel really good after my meal. Overall enjoyed it, again, because I was open and understanding of differences. No complaints about my experience. If you are stopping by for the first time, I hope you also have the same experience.

I ate several dinners and a breakfast when I stayed and loved everything I had. I tried the River Raft'n Tacos with grilled fish one night - it comes with 3 tacos full of supple chunks of perfectly grilled fish and chips and salsa on the side. The tacos were just a tad bland but still delicious and the side of salsa added the extra flavor I needed. My other dinner was one of their specials - the Southwest burger with a side of onion rings and veggie soup. This was fantastic!! The burger was flawless and tasty (not too spicy) and the onion rings were positively massive and delicious as well. The veggie soup was a bit spicy but still flavorful and hit the spot. For my breakfast I had the Horseshoe Breakfast which comes with two eggs, toast, home fries or fruit, and I chose ham for my meat. It was a great start to the day and their in-house coffee is really nice. Their unique dessert offering - the Avocado Pie - is a must when you visit!! It's light, creamy, and not overly sweet with a hint of citrus. It's like a mild key lime pie sort of and I loved it - would definitely get again. They have some traditional indoor seating as well as a patio that has garage style doors that they can open for an al fresco dining option. Decor gives off 70s diner vibes and they have really cool Grand Canyon/Colorado River paintings on the walls. All the staff were attentive and helpful - even with our large rowdy group the night before our rafting trip!

My bf got the pork burrito, SO DELICIOUS AND FULL OF FLAVOR. The way they melt the cheese in there, yummm. It had just the slightest bit of sweetness and had my bf got the jalepenos I think it would have been even more perfect. I got an egg bite to pair with my pancakes. The egg bite had good flavor and was yummy. I really enjoyed my pancakes as well. I'm usually not a sweet breakfast person. They were really thick that they were still airy and fluffy and had good flavor. I didn't care for the strawberries because I don't like my fruit soggy and they were just a little bit too sweet for me, so I'd probably skip that next time. We got the fresh orange juice, it was OK. I wish I would've told them to not add any sweetener because then I think it would be perfect. I'm not too big on sweet The burrito was so good I wanted my own to go but they sold out so I settled on the brisket cheese steak. Sooo full of flavor and delicious. They speak my love language... cheese! It's a mobile truck, so there's very limited seating, especially when it's warm, plan to be in your car. Service was friendly. I was disappointed there were not more flavor choices, however the four that were available were delicious. Our favorite was the Chocolate Parfait. It looked liked a scoop of ice cream which intrigued me even more. We went right outside and ate two of the cookies right away. We broke the Chocolate Parfait in half and the chocolate was ooey gooey perfection. My husband loved it so much, we went back inside and bought the last one. We were so full after just two cookies that we took the others with us. We saved the Chocolate Parfait for the next day and unfortunately it wasn't the same as eating it right at the time of purchase. The other three cookies I think would taste just as good a day or less later, but don't wait to eat the Chocolate Parfait cookie. The magic in this cookie is immediate consumption.

I asked for coffee and she handed me a menu and she asked if I knew what I wanted to eat. I said I needed some time to look at the menu and she frowned and walked away without saying a word. It was obvious she thought I was going to be there a while and didn't want me sitting at the table long. She returned with the coffee and said "You know if it gets busy...." leaving the sentence hanging. I replied I would leave if it did (the restaurant only had maybe 3 tables full at that point, by the time I left at 640 there were two tables empty). After eating the food, which was quite good, I promptly packed up and left as soon as I could 25 minutes after being seated. I walked down to Brewed Awakenings, got a coffee there and sat down at my computer to do some work. In a small restaurant I totally understand that you need to keep tables moving so there is not a wait, but there is a polite and subtle way to message to a patron that they need to move along so other folks can sit down. You can deliver the check early, ask if you are finished, ask if there is anything else you need. Ways to communicate to a patron that they need the table. This was certainly not it. I eat out often, I tip very well, but I have to say this is the first time I felt unwelcome and rushed at a place in a very, very long time. While the food was good, this was not the way to start off day 2 of my roadtrip. In today's economy, making your customers feel like they need to eat and run, and doing so in a rude way, is a master class in how to make your restaurant fail. I do not recommend this place.
