I rarely write reviews, and this is my first on Yelp, but since the Yelp reviews were helpful to convince me to use this company, I wanted to return the favor. I had questions about how early I could apply for my visa because of the timing (trip was a long time away, but my passport was due to expire in a little over a year, and I wanted the 10-year visa). Shawn was extremely prompt in answering my questions specifically and patient about my follow up questions. I tended to email at odd times expecting the answer the next business day, but often, he would answer late at night. One time he answered me in Chinese, but it was 1:20 AM his time, so understandable. And to be fair, I should be able to have understood it, having Chinese parentage, so really, my own fault that I had to use Google translate. To his credit, he did email me to clarify my background soon after, and there was no need to translate anything afterwards. I sent my applications by email to proofread on a holiday, again expecting them to be seen on the next business day, but he emailed me that I was good to go an hour later. He emailed me when my application was received, and I note that the consulate issued the visa the same day as the email. About one week later, I received the FedEx notification that my package was on the way back, and the passports were back in my possession with visas (Q2 instead of L, but 10 years as we had hoped) 13 days after I had mailed them, not using the expedited service. The tag line on the China Visa Solutions business card reads "Best service, Best Price, Best Result." Rarely do you find that to be true, but in this case, Shawn lived up to that claim. They are great. Shawn was great. I couldn't find a local visa agency to handle visas to China so I went online. Was skeptical after browsing so many hyper-commercialized businesses that seemed to overcharge or just plain sketchy. I found great reviews for China Visa Solutions, and just decided to go with it. I tentatively began my process by emailing them. Shawn was great. He was super responsive, personable, and helpful. He told me exactly what I needed to do, had me scan my package before I mailed it to him for any mistakes (and he spotted two!), and notified me via email when the application was complete, and that he was going to mail my package back. I expected that process alone to take a month or more (I didn't know much) and I got my package as well as my new visa back within 2 weeks! It could had been even faster because he couldn't locate my address in the system at the FedEx office, so he emailed me about that, asking if I had an alternative address. Indeed, my address (an apartment) doesn't show up in the system, so I had him mail the package to a secure location (my parent's house). He did it promptly. I am so pleased. I recommend this place to everyone. The cost is great, the service seemed expedited and I didn't have to pay for the rush, and because I have my package and visa, the place seems secure. I google searched around a bit before deciding on China Visa Solutions. They add great views AND they were the cheapest option I could find. I paid for standard service, hoping to have my passport back by the end of the month. I sent in my application overnight on the 10th (a Wednesday). I got an email the next day to notify me that I had forgotten to include one document which I corrected immediately (through email). By the 15th (the following Monday) I had received my submission notice through email. I sent a reply back and A REAL PERSON emailed back! Not just some generic computer response! Impressive these days to get personalized attention. By the 22nd (the next Monday) I received my passport in hand with my new 10yr visa! I'm a happy camper and I was pleasantly surprised to have the entire transaction take only 12 days for standard service. I bet it would have been a bit faster if I had submitted my application on a Monday vs a Wednesday because a lot of my wait time was probably due to the weekends. Awesome and quick service for a Tourist (L) Visa. Spoke to Shawn via email and he reviewed my documents prior to shipment. Caught a boneheaded mistake on my part that was easily fixed. He also advised me what supporting documents to submit - flight and hotel documentation, etc. He advised me accurately on shipping / consulate / and return shipping times. I did pay for overnight shipping on the return of the documents, but it was only $10 more than regular shipping. I received emails every step of the way - when they received my documents, when I was charged (paid by CC), when they were dropped off at consulate, and when my documents would be shipped back. I got my documents back a week (5 business days) after mailing them to China Visa Solutions. This gave me some security, as I am leaving on my trip in 10 days. I think China Visa Solutions was very cost effective compared to many of the other visa services I've come across. Would recommend to anyone and use again if/when needed. read more

I am not a big review person, but I felt I needed to write one for both you, as someone that is looking for a Chinese Visa and for the company I used. It is a scary thing to put your passport in the mail and send it off to someone you don't know. I have an important business trip to China coming up and I had to get my Visa. I looked at other reviews and saw that they mentioned Shawn by name in their reviews. That is why I went with him. It felt more personal than other agencies. I went to their website and started the process. An hour after I filled out my information I got an email from Shawn saying that if I could email copies of my documents he could review them to make sure I had all the right info. This was at 10 pm... He and I communicated via email and he did exactly what he said he was going to do. I paid for all the expedited features and I received everything in perfect order this morning. I've worked with a few visa expediters. On the whole, I found them a bit frustrating; many made significant errors, had gaps in communications, or other issues. When possible, I try to deal with embassies directly now. You can't do that with China without traveling twice. They don't do visas by mail. I took a risk, and decided to try Chinese Visa Solutions. And you know what? It was much better. I think it's one guy renting one desk somewhere. But he's super-efficient, super-responsive to phone calls and email (I think that's his cell number?). There was constant communications. He knew the intricacies of the Chinese visa process (I was off on a technicality for a 10-year visa, and he contacted me to ask how I wanted to proceed). There was constant communication at every point. I knew when they received my passport, when it was shipped back, etc. And aside from that, it was less expensive than the other places. My decision was based on the information contained in his website, his economical service pricing (most competitors charge twice as much), and reviews from past customers. Had some initial questions which he answered promptly and courteously. Sent documents to him via FedEx. Subsequent processing was both efficient and prompt. An inadvertent small glitch was encountered associated with the return of some supporting documents (not the passports with our newly issued visas). If need a Chinese visa and do not live within 30 minutes of downtown Chicago then China Visa Solution is a must! Super helpful and super easy, Shawn reviewed my documentation for accuracy before submitting them to the Chinese Embassy. I am from Michigan and needed a Chinese visa. Thanks to Shawn at China Visa Solutions I did not need to drive to Chicago submit my paperwork nor did I need to drive BACK to Chicago to pick up my Chinese Visa. My 4-month old needs her visa to visit her grandparents in China. I did a lot of research before mailing her passport out. Eventually I decided to give CVS a try. So I called first and Shawn answered the phone, then sent me all details about how to apply a Chinese visa for little ones. During I prepared all paperwork, I had more questions coming up so I emailed CVS very often, and they always replied emails timely and answered all my questions patiently. After researching many Visa services I came upon Visa solution. Many websites give the impression you are required to use a consulate in your region. I called and reached Shawn who gave me all the information I needed and assured me they could process the visa application in Chicago. He also volunteered to review the application via email. Some services charge a significant fee for this service, which probably takes a trained eye a few seconds. We were able to include our own UPS return label and send out passports together. I had a few questions, which were answered immediately. We opted for the standard service as we had several weeks before our trip. Our passports arrived back today within the promised time frame. Getting a Chinese visa through CVS is a peaceful process. They provide me an AWESOME service. They are very responsive, straightforward, responsible, and honest. They keep me in the loop throughout the entire process. I needed a Chinese visa fairly quick, and CVS was right on top of it from the beginning to the end. I got my visa in less than a week. I called around many places and search many agencies, but none of them were appealing from the get go. When I called/emailed CVS in the evening I got a response almost immediately. Shawn kept in touch with me and provided me the assurance and the visa I needed. Most definitely, I will contact CVS again when I need to get my next Chinese visa in the near future. I was headed to china and needed my visa like a week before i went. I read horror stories about the chinese embassy so i decided to bypass it and use China Visa Solutions. Sean was nice enough to meet my girlfriend and I at a sub sandwich place and setup the arrangement. The next week i was back up in Chicago and we met just a little bit outside of china town and he had my passport with my visa in it! i was so pumped. He was also nice enough to take us to chinatown in his car. We had just taken a cab from o'hare, and didnt know how to get to chinatown. The best agent ever! Other Chinese visa agents would cost about $500 to get my Chinese visa. Luckily, I found this agency. The whole process would cost me $228 (including shipping out and shipping back.) Since it was very cheap, I did not trust it at first. However, I had no choice, so I decided to give it a try anyway. It worked! I got my Chinese visa about 1 1/2 weeks later for the lowest service. Service: This agency has the best service ever. If you email the agency with a question, you will get an answer for less than 10 minutes. Shawn is outstanding to work with--highly knowledgeable, very responsive to questions, willing to review/proof-read my visa application (he saved me from making a category mistake re: the type of visa I needed to apply for). It's also really helpful that China Visa Solutions provides a sample invitation letter in Chinese and English--it took out all the guesswork for my host and for me. The fee is very reasonable and well worth it, especially in comparison to the cost of parking in Chicago and the total drive- and wait-times involved if you were to apply for the visa in person and had to return to pick it up. CVS was great at getting me the proper visa to work in China along with a very reasonable price. After living in China for four years I was worried about the new visa changes this month, but CVS was able to layout my options and keep me up to speed how the Chicago counsulate was handling the new changes.
