Being Chinese I…read morereally don't associate it with being Chinese cuisine but like they've taken the noodle concept and did a fusion with stereotypical Oriental influences and Indian influences too. There are many opening up in London with the same concept and one of the advantages is that it is freshly cooked for you unlike buffet restaurants. The layout makes it more classier than your usual Chinese Takeaway with seatings available downstairs, a bit like Wasabi where you pay at the counter and served in takeaway paper boxes and disposable cutlery and you can make your way downstairs to eat and it's all self service from there. The place is clean and well maintained, vivid and bright. I personally went during the evening and it was pretty quiet but probably more popular during lunch. The most appealing part of the menu is probably the option of a type of noodle, your meat/vegetarian topping and then the sauce you want it to be cooked in. All the sauces are all pre-made so nothing too complicated for the chef. All they have to do is stir-fry the meat, the vegetables, throw the noodles in and pour on the sauce. It's not the most authentic way of cooking hence why I don't associate it with being Oriental but it's what you're getting here. They also do the simple rice dishes with various curry in the same concept but with rice instead of noodles, fridged sushi, wraps and salads- mostly aimed at for lunch diners. I decided to stick with their most popular choice being the noodles and went for medium noodles, with shredded roasted duck and Malaysian spice & udon Delhi cumin & coriander with strip steak. The things I did enjoy was the abundance of fresh vegetables which gave the noodles an excellent texture, full of crunches and nutrition. The noodles were also cooked well and although the sauce was quite generic they were both quite flavoursome and both with a good kick of spice. The Malaysian sauce was slightly sweeter whilst the Dehli Cumin was more savoury. Both a good choice. But if you compared this to traditional Oriental cooking it is still miles away. It's satisfying for a quick lunch but if aiming for quality you can taste the lack of wok skill and energy. The duck and meat tasted like they were probably frozen and duck pre roasted by a supplier. The sauce was quite one noted lacking the different layers of taste by sauces that are made there and then. It was also slightly overpowering, too much of it and high in salt making me quite thirsty after. I could taste a lot of oil was used to speed up the cooking process. It is definitely what I associate fast food to be, tasty sauces, quick and relatively cheap- £5.95 for each noodle combination. Still it was edible and better than most Oriental Fast Food places where everything is cooked beforehand and poured into big containers. The combinations are more interesting and at least you get your food hot here and customised. Probably not a place I would return to but for workers nearby I don't see why you can't give this lunch place a go.

It is quite modern in decor, but the atmosphere is very nice. They have TV screens on the walls with Vietnamese cooking on which is quite a nice touch. The food is light and tasty which I really like as you dont feel too bloated afterwards. Everything was very fresh and delicious. I think the service could have been slightly better but I guess you can't have everything! Overall the prices and quality were very good. I was impressed and would go back.

She informed me that, unfortunately, they don't have a website, but that instead she knew the menu inside out and would be more more than happy to help me make a decision: I loved the idea of having a "human" or "interactive" menu and so I agreed on the deal. I was ordering dinner for a group of four, one of the woman being pregnant. This pregnant woman put in a request for beef and so I told the lady on the other line that, amongst others, I definitely needed some beef dishes...don't ever screw with a pregnant woman ;-) This is where it became interesting; I remember having eaten some lemon-grass beef dish at another Thai restaurant and so I asked her if they had something like this on the menu. In her lovely Thai accent she then went on to explain up me that while this is a possible combination, but that I'm fact in traditional Thai cuisine beef is not paired with lemon grass. If I wanted to have a nice beef dish, she'd recommend stir-fried beef with Thai basil. Or, the marinated beef salad. On the other hand, if I wanted the lemon grass, she'd suggest the Tom Yum soup. Needless to say, with such a lovely and informative interactive menu, I followed all of her suggestions. On top of that, I also ordered a red duck curry, a Pad Thai (with prawns and not beef, obviously) as well as a mixed starter and some egg fried rice and white rice. I thanked her and 15 minutes later I showed up at the restaurant to pick up my order. It was a Friday evening and every table was filled. (With it being so busy, I even more appreciated that they has taken so much time for me on the phone earlier.) "Oh that place is terrible - you should try Bone Daddies!" If you've been to Bone Daddies you'll know what an indictment that is of Wagamama. I mean what else can I say that probably has been written about countless times in other reviews? It's pan Asian (problem #1), some things are fried in a pan, there's noodle dishes you can get and all of it sucks. It has sucked for what, 20 odd years now? Every once in a while (~five years) I will have no other choice (e.g. airport, tagging along with colleagues, drunk, etc.) but to eat here and every single time I am in awe at how truly forgettable it is. How one company can render the tastes of cusines that are normally so delicious to be so bereft of flavor is truly a marvel in mass produced sludge. It must be the marketing right? The playful name? That the locations look inviting? It has to be something other than the reputation that gets people through the door.

Unfortunately this branch has gone downhill in service since I last ate here. Well, it was busy, but the queue was due to unprepared tables...and several of them. Staff were unwilling to take a full order at one time which I found odd. Waiter would only take the drink order and I had to wait a while for the same waiter to come back to take the food order (how strange!). I usually order one of the specials for mains with udon instead of the usual soba noodles. On this occasion my waiter said they couldn't accomodate my request as they were too busy! Bó Drake combines…read moreeverything I love about Asian food, from the sweetness of the pickled kimchi to the succulent seafood, with the rustic smoky flavor of European barbeque. Before I even talk about the food we enjoyed, I have to mention the quality of the service. From the moment my friend and I entered the restaurant, we were greeted with smiling, friendly faces. We were promptly seated at a cozy table, and really made to feel welcome. Our server went above and beyond to ensure that we were enjoying ourselves. The portion sizes were perfect, and so incredibly tasty. We started with appetizers, the KFC - Korean Fried Chicken was tender and juicy on the inside, and crispy on the outside. The sticky glaze of soy garlic, grapes, and rosemary added the right amount of sweetness. We split the pork belly bao, a piece for each of us, and the pickled cucumber and soy glazed peanuts brought the dish up a notch. For our mains, we tried the smoked rib stack, which was smoked with a sweet chestnut wood and covered in an Asian inspired BBQ sauce. These ribs were unlike any I've had before, and were cooked to perfection. We then had the Sirloin Tataki, in which the meat has been aged for 35 days, and served with ponzu, truffled shitake, and tofu cream. Magnificent! I couldn't pass up dessert, and opted for the sesame oil soft serve ice cream, which was rich and delicious, with a hint of nuttiness from the toasted sesame seeds on top. Bó Drake came highly recommended to me, and now I highly recommend it!

Out of the special rolls, the Dragon roll has my heart but the Norwegian roll makes a close second. If you're noticing a trend here, yes, I really love salmon and tobiko.
