Over the years the doctors working there have changed and I usually seem to get a different doctor each time a make an appointment. I can understand that they are a busy clinic, but it would be handy to see the same doctor so you don't have to explain things multiple times or have them stare at the computer trying to figure out your medical history. On a good day I only wait 5-10 mins from my appointed time, but on a really bad day it can go up to 30mins. The clinic itself is very clean and big, has BBC on the tv and it's not too hard to make an appointment with the exception of December~ January. They do travel health and immunisations as well at a cheaper rate than places like Tropical Medical Bureau but are only open until 5:30pm. Overall, nice clinic, efficient service and professional staff.

I have suffered from back and neck problems for many years and having recently (Christmas Eve) done my back in again, and not having a Chriopractor in Dublin, I bought a deal from Groupon/CityDeal for this business who have two locations in the city. As I could not get an appointment with the Terrenure branch and currently suffering with my back I managed to get an appointment with the one in Blessington Street. The deal was an examination with three follow-up treatments but you had to have the examination first on a separate appointmnent. I made the appointments two weeks prior to the day, and having explained the situation to the receptionist and being keen to being treatment I booked the examination for Wednesday and the first treatment appointment for the next day, Thursday. I have limited time off due to work commitments and had scheduled these appointments as a priority to getting my back sorted. I arrived on time for my appointment on Wednesday and while the receptionist was putting together paperwork for me to fill out I mentioned that I was going to be coming the next day also for my first treatment. I was then informed that the Chiropractor was unavailable the next day and that I 'should have been told' but they were unable to accomodate my first appointment until 8th February, another 2 weeks later (despite my already waiting 3 weeks for the initial appointment). Seriously unprofessional, clearly trying to make as much money as possible while messing people who are in pain around, I have respect for Chiropractors but would advise anyone looking for one to avoid this one at all costs cause if you are in pain and you do have an appointment, it may very well be quite some time before you can schedule your next!

As a beginner I would definitely recommend attending Viv's class as she is incredible at what she does & makes the class enjoyable while ensuring a good workout. They're…read morealways either too smelly or too regimented or too fake or have terrible schedules or not enough choice. Enter the Elbow Room. It's not quuiite five star (purely because the classes don't fit exactly to my schedule, so I'd prefer if there were a few more to choose from), but it's very nearly there. Firstly, it's in a very old building that's been renovated nicely, in that bit of Dublin that's kinda Smithfield, kinda Stoneybatter. There's something about the approach to the building that instills a calm in me already - there's nothing more off-putting than trying to get your zen on in a community hall or office block. The calm continues inside with nice homely decor, and an overriding sense of tranquility (candles and insence are great aren't they!) Then there is the range of classes available. Everything from Vinyasa Flow to Hatha, Ashtanga and Hot Yoga. As I said, it would be great if they had a choice of one of these per day - they are spread out over the week - so this won't be the studio for you if you want to do only one type per day. There is also a free vege lunch if you attend one of the day time classes. The classes that I've been to so far have generally had about 15 people in them, so it's never been too crowded. I've also not had a teacher that I haven't rated highly. This is all after just a few weeks in this spot, so come back for the re-review in a few months time, but for now, I'm zenned up like a *&*%^!

Since my arrival in this country I have yet to see a good example of GP. Dr. Dermot Rafter has not…read morechanged my opinion. I went to the Rafters for 3 years first to Dr Yvonne Rafter who showed absolutely no signs of any interest in my presence or of being a GP. Then to Dr Dermot Rafter. Though he was more compassionate or caring, I had a bad experience when I went in for travel vaccinations. You'd think when your GP advertises that they provide these vaccinations they would know what you need. Imagine my surprise when he started consulting a chart and then the Internet (right there in front of me!). On one of my followups he didn't even have the vaccination required! If this wasn't bad enough, the vaccinations ended up costing over 100 euro more than what was quoted in the beginning. This was the final straw for me and I have not been back since. When you're paying a premium, as I did in the Rafter office, you would expect the doctor to at least have done his homework before you arrive. For this reason, I must give a bad review.

When I rang to…read morecomplain about how I was treated the receptionist acted like a child refusing to answer me, put me on speaker and I could hear her footsteps, refused to give me her name, told me to "write it all down" and hung up on me mid sentence! Initially was refused when I was heavily pregnant just because my combined care was with a different medical Centre. I explained that the appointment wasn't for the baby but was for me as I was ill - too ill to make it to my usual doctor who was in Dublin City centre. I was again refused because I wasn't doing combined care with them and when I asked if I could switch to them -suddenly was told they were full. I rang back after my son was born and was told that once he had the 6 week check up I could then book in for an appointment. When I tried to book receptionist was so rude to me about me not being registered. I had to ask her to explain the process of how to register she exasperatedly told me to write an email as if I should have known this already. I was not told any of this info on how to register previously. I was made to feel like an outsider trying to get into some exclusive club rather than a mother trying to get a GP for her son.
