But this spring we stopped in and I was pleasantly surprised to find healthy vegetable and floral seedlings, both in multi-packs and individually. By this time I knew that my squash seeds hadn't germinated for me except for one, so I decided to get a set to transplant. The gentleman was helpful, to the point where he was trimming off little wilted bits before selling it to me. My wife picked out more flower seedlings and away we went. I don't know if we will need any more seedlings this growing season, but even if we don't, I will have to remember them when next spring rolls around, as it is always preferable to purchase as locally as possible.

I typically do not just hand out 5 star reviews but I cannot short Blooming Barn of any credit. They did fantastic for my Mother's day selection! I called on Thursday the 11th of May and spoke with the nicest lady I have encountered as far as my customer service career in Maine. I'm so saddened that I did not catch her name but she was so welcoming just via phone call. From beginning to end she carried a pleasant tone, was extremely patient with me as I called from work and informed me of all my possible options which is what I consider above and beyond in any type of customer service. I wanted a floral arrangement to represent me and my three other siblings and she was more than willing to communicate different ideas with me and even let me suggest a price point preferred. I explained to her how I live in Hawai'i and she understood the 6 hour time difference and did not rush me to decide. She let me know that they do same day delivery so if worst case scenario happened I would not have to worry. She also pointed out that they DO in fact have a website and I could also order delivery from in case I was unable to reach them in time. I received my order confirmation right away and the price was absolutely reasonable for the beautiful arrangement my mother received that following Saturday. I am so pleased and would highly recommend this florist for anyone with family living in Maine for any type of occasion. The girls really are talented with flower arranging, and deliver those arrangements to the surrounding areas. In May, Memorial Day orders are taken for urns, baskets, and graveside planting for the cemeteries in the surrounding towns (something I have fond memories of helping with). If that's something you like to do yourself, there is a large selection of annuals and perennials, as well as ornamental, fruit, and other trees. The greenhouses also offer succulent plans and ferns, vines, and ivy. With a wealth of knowledge handed down through generations, the friendly staff are eager and able to answer any of your gardening questions. They also have a fairly active Facebook page!
