I spent a lot of time one night searching for somewhere that I thought all of our pallets would like and I'm so glad I chose this restaurant. If there was a grade higher than an A+ plus they would get it. Toss out a raggedy Gokd star they get a diamond star. The staff was gorgeous and so friendly and like they get such a nice ambience in the restaurant. The decor was comfortable and really pretty and slightly eclectic but that's my style. And the food oh my God kisses to the chef he actually managed to get everybody in my party to eat a whole meal without complaining. Everything was seasoned so well which even though the food is fresher and so much better in Ireland there was several restaurants that we ate at where I was like there's no flavor. You cannot say that about Wholesome foods they are named appropriately it was such a good time. Though I may make one suggestion and that's the required uniform for the females all of their shirts are sheer. If they comfortable in it all to you ladies you looked great. If not maybe let the girls have a different shirt. Also thank you for hot, delicious , well portioned, and amazing food and desert !!!

This was during one of our drives between cities and this was a wonderful stop. The ambience of the city, the location, and most of all the food was superbly on point and prepared perfectly. Plenty of healthy options, plenty of fresh juice options, and plenty of options for those with dietary restrictions. I'm looking forward to returning sometime in the near future and hopefully bringing some of my friends back with me. The city in general, the historical value of the buildings, and the overall feel was something that people must experience.

There's a tapas bar, a gourmet food shop and this coffee shop in Mullingar. If you're looking for something organic, free-range or fair trade in Mullingar, chances are Ilia are your first port of call. Their coffee shop is a treat too. You can people-watch downstairs, or crash out on the couches upstairs. If you're dining, there's a bright seated area in the back. Their coffee is delicious too. It starts at €2.10 for filter coffee, and €2.75 for a cappuccino and goes up from there. Pretty average prices I suppose. But, it tastes great. If you don't feel like getting caffeinated, there's a choice of herbal teas and smoothies. Oh, and those Luscombe soft drinks that manage to make you slightly less guilty about drinking sugar water than a Coke does. The food is pretty decent, although not to the same standard as the coffee. They've a breakfast and lunch menu, and some ice-creams as Summer specials. Considering how good their tapas bar is, it's a bit weird that the food at the coffee shop is so nondescript. Oh, and there's no wi-fi (or if there was, it wasn't working) so if you're planning a working lunch, you'll be at the mercy of your network operator.

The cafe offers a range of snacks and hot drinks as well as simple menu items. I arrived for lunch and decided to go with a steak sandwich. The steak sandwich was served with home made chips. The steak was way too fatty for my liking and wasn't cooked the way i asked. It was topped with too much sauce and mushrooms which didn't really work well together. The chips were fine but I don't think they were home made. I don't think it was worth the price. I could easily cook a nicer version of it at home by myself. My dad was eating with me and he choose a chicken dish which came out half cremated. He told the waitress about it and she didn't really offer any remedy to the situation. The toilets weren't very clean either which is always a good indication of likely overall restaurant experience. Overall below average café for cooked food. Perhaps stick to just coffee and pastries if your coming here.
