The Chocolate Escape is an awesome chocolate shop in downtown Wabasha, just a short drive from Highway 61 - well worth the stop! We found this place by chance. Yelp sent us to the business next door, looking for an antique store (Bird-Brains Art & Antiques) that no longer exists. The bright spot in our journey is we found this wonderful chocolate shop next door. This place is truly overwhelming...so many choices!!! And the displays are so beautiful. We also had fun talking to the staff. (I think they might have been owners.) They also gave us some tips on where to find the best antique stores. An awesome experience all the way around! Thanks for the yummy treats and the great conversation! -Daddy Maxx Retro

Very cute place. The service was kind, generous and knowledgeable. My haystack tasted old.

What a cute little shop. The people are very friendly and you get a sample of their amazing chocolate. If you're in the area, check it out.

Still love the dark chocolate here. I went out of my way a long ways to have it. My review is only on the dark chocolate ice cream! So good.

Gotta love those Wilbur Buds. I send them to family and friends. They are great business gifts also.

Amazing. I forget what my boyfriend got but it was a cold sandwich with different deli meats, cheese, and veg. See picture. Their beef sticks (the teriyaki, in particular) were the best I've ever had, and being born and raised in the Midwest, I've tried a lot of beef sticks. Their cheese was also great (I recommend the sharp cheddar, bacon cheddar, smoked provolone, and onion cheese). Ice cream was okay. The interior and exterior are very instagram-able. Worth a day trip from the cities for sure! Check out the nearby National Eagle Center while you're in town.

The sandwich was tasty (The Swiss cheese is really nice.), filling and a large portion for a half serving. However, the bread was a little dry as was the chicken salad. It needed a bit more mayo or mayo on the bread at least. My other issue is the enormous pile of sprouts which would have been OK had there been fewer of them but were overwhelming in this volume. A local recommended asking for the sandwich with fewer sprouts, and I should have listened. They told us that they and all their friends knew to either ask for fewer or scrape off most before eating.
