Update: Choicelend did get me a great rate, and I commend them for that, as well as their service. However two major reasons I went with Choicelend are because I was promised my loan would not be sold, and I could make bi-monthly payments, with both payments going toward the loan principal. Six months later, my loan was sold. And while I was told I could still make "bi-weekly payments" the new owner said they would merely hold the first payment until the end of the month, and then submit them together, rendering it pointless. So every few months, for as long as I owe money on my house (my whole life), my loan will be passed on to the next company, and the next company, and I will have to keep track of who owns my loan, create a new profile, and update my payment method, to ensure I don't default. Go with Choicelend if they give you a great rate, but know that your loan WILL be sold, and you will NOT be able to make the promised bi-weekly payments. read more

Last year with the interest rates low, I decided to refinance the house to a 15 year mortgage in order to pay it off quicker. I came across Art Bermudez who was absolutely incredible. It was so quick and easy almost to the point I began to wonder if it was a scam! LOL. He was upfront and gave great advice and his staff just kept everything moving along very quickly. i would definitely work with Art and Traci. They were both extremely knowledgable in helping me with the whole refinance process! Before i chose choice lend for my refinance, i was comparing several lenders found on Zillow. I had asked each of them to send me updated rates daily so i can decide when to refinance. I also explicitly asked for a breakdown of cost up front so i knew exactly how much i was to pay out of pocket. A couple of them sent me rates for a couple days but stopped. Art was the only one that continued to send me updated rates every day. When i finally called and decided to start the process with him, he was ready and extremely helpful to get the process started. During the process, Art and Traci were extremely responsive to all of my emails/texts/calls. I was trying to close the refinance as soon as possible, and they kept me up to date on the latest status as it changed. They never made me feel like i was asking dumb questions, and Art was very patient when explaining to me every detail on the HUD statements so i knew where every penny was going and what it was for. Not only did the refinance close as expected, but i also learned a great deal about the process as well. We did hit one hiccup along the way, where my HOA charged a fee to feel out a questionnaire requested by the lender. It was unexpected, but instead of just requesting it and charging me for the amount, Traci tried to work with me and the HOA to see if we can avoid it. Even though we ended up paying for it, the effort to save me money was really appreciated. At the end of closing they even surprised me by reimbursing me for the full amount of the HOA fee!
