This cool cafe sits on the ground floor of the amazingly revamp Lidcombe Shopping Centre. With a hip new look, this place really does entice you with it's bright yellow and chilled black colour scheme. (Just don't look at the over-the-counter hanging lights - dusty as all heck).
Meeting up with a mate, we decided to grab a bite here. Indoor and outdoor seating, not too loud either considering how close it was to Parramatta Rd. Staff were friendly and informed me that it was an all day breakfast menu - always a win.
I tried the French Toast (@ $13.90) , served with berries and walnuts, and... fairy floss? Not a bad mixture of flavours, but one piece of advice - try to have a little bit of everything on your fork; the mellow notes of the walnuts will cut through the tartness of the berries. Without the walnuts the entire meal would be way too overpowering.
To drink I tried a Banana and Peanut Butter Smoothie (@ $6.90). It tasted exactly as it said, the creamy peanut butter taste sandwiched by high tones of banana. Does it work? I'm not exactly sure, but worth a try. Very thick. Maybe have chocolate and peanut butter on the menu instead?
My mate went with a Portuguese chicken burger, as soon as I smelt/saw it I knew that it was a good burger. Fresh chicken covered in sauce with a soft bun, why did my sweet tooth get the better of me. Thick crispy chips with good seasoning. Will definitely get that next time. read more
