I wish more places had this reserve menu concept, it was very fun to peruse and pick. The only disadvantage was our waiter was kind of pretentious, and I appreciate it when specialty coffee shops have more open and welcoming people. But the baristas more than made up for that - they were patient, kind, and generous with explaining where the coffees were sourced from and the flavors we should taste, absolutely must go and I will be back.

But don't go past the huevos rancheros, seriously worth the try. The coffee here is good, not great, but good. But this is not the reason that you come - you come here for the food. Now, the space is small, so you might have to wait. Or just get take away. They do a special if you order one of their rolls (get it is with the spiced tomatoe sauce) and coffee takeaway, so that is always an option.

The in-house roastery provides great coffee (plenty of options for coffee snobs from Melbourne) and you can buy beans and other coffee paraphenalia to take home. I didn't get a strong espresso flavor as it would have, but the ratio of almond bits and gelato was just right - occasionally crunchiness hidden within the creaminess of gelato. The second flavor we ordered was the poached strawberry with balsamic vinegar. The acidity from balsamic vinegar and strawberry was muted yet complimented the gelato base. It was not too sweet, yet there's a hint of the balsamic vinegar and strawberry. We were too busy getting into the gelato before taking a picture, but check out this place if you are nearby.
