Chris Burke INC is the in house installation company for the Floor & Decor retail chain. I was introduced to them after deciding to purchase flooring there. I met Chris himself but ultimately spent most of my time dealing with one of his salesmen. I was provided a written estimate and asked for them to come out to my house to measure and look around making the estimate more final. I was ready to buy so made an appointment and showed them my house. Within a week I called them to agree to the new estimate but was told that they weren't going to honor it. The salesman said that they had some price changes, raised some prices and took away all the discounts I had been offered. Considered I had a printed estimate in hand with the words "THIS ESTIMATE IS VALID FOR 30 DAYS AFTER STAMP DATE" I figured there was no reason to pursue business with Chris Burke Inc. RUN AWAY AS QUICKLY AS YOU CAN Anyone who doesn't want my business doesn't deserve it. And any installer who isn't going to honor an estimate isn't going to handle problems either. I orginally got Chris Burke's name from someone at Lowes because lowes did not have the laminate that I wanted & he said Chris works with Floor & decor, where I found the tile I wanted. I must have called Chris's office 7 or 8 times over a week or so, & left word for Chris...He never called me back. I even told them that now I was having someone else coming over if he didn't call me. He never called!! I guess my business is not imp! enough for him to call VERY BAD CUSTOMER SERVICE!! The Floor Contractor From Hell. ____________________________________________ UPDATE 02/02/2018: Due to problems with ALL the flooring installed by Chris Burke, we are replacing all the wood flooring and marble tile installed by them. So all this money officials down the drain. ____________________________________________ We hired Chris Burke Inc. to replace the flooring in our house, having met their representatives in Floor & Décor in the Pompano Beach store. We had the flooring initially installed in December 2015. Unfortunately we had two different kinds of flooring installed by Chris Burke's contractors - wood and marble tile. We ended up with a 1" vertical gap between the marble tile at one transition point, and just regular gaps at the other two locations. It took a stop payment, two dozen phone calls and FOUR months to get the problems fixed. They are a complete failure at coordination, responding to phone calls, and completing the job. Save yourself a ton of grief, find someone else to do your flooring. read more

My wife and I were setup with this company through Floor and Decor. They were scheduled to show up on a Monday and we made it clear to the salesman we were moving into the home that following Sunday. He assured us that the job would be done before Friday. Monday comes and I have taken the day off of work. I received a call from the crew stating that their truck broke. I called and was told there are no other crews available and they would be there first thing Tuesday to start. Tuesday comes I have to take another day off. The crew shows up at noon not first thing in the morning. They showed up in a Volvo with no work materials. The head of the crew named Ronnie tried to sell me baseboards for cash behind his companies back. They did no work and left. They came Wednesday and started, my wife stopped by after work to find our house unlocked. Thursday my wife stopped by again and the sliding glass door on the side of our house was left wide open and rain was coming into our home and they were no where near done. Friday comes and the house is still not done and we discover that the crew used all of our garbage bags to put the old tiles in and left them in our garage. Saturday we come to the house they are still not done and the was 1 guy working. We spoke to Ronnie again who assured us it would be done Sunday. Sunday comes and we have to move all of our belongings into the garage because the floor wasn't finished and then needed time to set. We were left with our old baseboards thrown out into the Florida room dust everywhere our guest bathroom covered in dirt and tile in our kitchen (which they were supposed to touch) was broken and a wall was damaged. We left a message on Friday and no one called us back. Finally we called again Tuesday and told them everything that was wrong. The head of the crew Ronnie called wednesday asking to come by and get the check for the second half of our payment $2100. I spoke to customer service who told me not to give him a check. I explaind all the issues we had and they had ronnie come that day to clean up and fix a couple of the mistakes. He wasn't able to fix our kitchen floor or wall. He then proceeded to pressure me into paying. He told me he needed us to pay today because if we didn't he would get the money on his upcoming check. I told him my wife needed to see the floor first and she was at work. Ronnie then called my cell phone about 15 times in 2 hours asking if we paid. This company has completely unprofessional people working for them. I would never use them again or recommend them to my worst enemy. read more

Awful experience. Surprised a large chain like Floor & Decor would recommend a guy like this. We were supposed to start installation of of our new floors today at 10am. Someone should have told Chris Burke that. It's now 2:45pm and nothing has been started, no one showed up, and no return calls when I reached out to Chris or his office. Thankfully I realized how poorly he runs his business before we had a bigger issue on our hands. I would give negative stars if I could. Steer clear of this guy. read more

I always look at the reviews before I hire. With that said, I went to Floor and Decor today on High Ridge Rd. and picked out a tile for my kitchen that I liked, then went to the estimate table. I had measured approx. 30 sq. ', when I gave the fellow at the desk the numbers he came up with 64 square feet! He said he had to account for waste. His estimate was $1,400 without the tile. He said the onsite measuring and estimate would be $25, and that would be taken off the bill. I re-measured when I got home, and I got 28.6 sq. ' using the inches to square feet calculator I found searching google. With waste, I would call it 30-31 sq. feet. Be careful folks. read more

Buyer beware. Run the other way. Found them through Floor and Decor. The sales person quoted me one price and time frame. Chris Burke came out once the demo was done and almost double the price. I was too far into the job to turn back. This was in Feb. 2016. My master Bath tiles started to fall. They came out and removed the tiles and left me with a pile. Chris burke inc is the best starting with salesperson guido who followed thru the whole job and having kevin palmeri do the install could not have anyone nicer and so experienced what a besutiful job we are so pleased with everthing would highly recommend yout compsny glad we found you &floor decor very very happy.thinking og wood floors in another room will definstely use your company again read more

Do not use this company, look elsewhere. Chris Burke, Inc. is the worst tile company in South Florida. You can look forward to constant bait and switch, lies, poor quality of work and no communication. I have been a licensed real estate agent in Florida for many years and I have used many contractors but none as unprofessional and unscrupulous as Chris Burke, Inc (Lic#CGC1511292). I choose this company because when I purchased my tile from Floor & Décor they were a recommended contractor, I would think working with a large company like Floor & Décor they would have a minimum level of morals, ethnics or at least standards for work quality, I was wrong. After I signed their contract and gave them a deposit there was no longer any point person to speak with about my job, the office kept telling me "someone will call you back". Due to the lack of communication and incompetence Chris Burke, Inc. contractors laid my tile diagonally, not straight as the contract stated. After this mistake the owner of the company Mr. Burke called me and told me I would have to pay for $750 more for this diagonal pattern. I disagreed about paying more for their mistake and explained to Mr. Burke that this was not what I wanted but since the work had begun they could continue. Mr. Burke told me if I did not pay he would take his guys off the job, leaving my home not even half done. After a few days of the contractors not showing up, considering my time restraints to get into my home and against my better judgement I paid the $750 so my family would be in the house for the holidays. To add insult to injury, they left a 4 inch gap at my front door, stating they would come back and lay the threshold later. After dozens of calls to finish the job, I finally spoke with Mr. Burke. Mr. Burke told me to do the threshold it would be any extra $500, even though this was part of the contract. Frustrated and fed up with Chris Burke, Inc. I hired another tile contractor to come and finish the job, he did a great job and only charged me $250. This contractor will ruin your life. Do not hire Chris Burke Inc., they will ruin your floors and your life. Complete incompetence, from A to Z. We had the misfortune of meeting and hiring them through Floor & Decor in Miami. Please avoid their salesperson at Floor & Decor and everybody that follows, including their installers and administrative office. We hired them to do a simple floor installation for a small bedroom. Their installer had no experience with wood floors. We were installing floating wood (not glue down), so it should have been a two week job (seriously), but my family was displaced for nearly 8 months while Chris Burke Inc. "tried and tried and tried again" to do this job properly. They started in May and finished just in time for Christmas. The only reason they finally finished, was because we were forced to hire a lawyer. Until the lawyer got involved, Chris Burke Inc. would not return our emails or phone calls. What a stressful experience working with them. Do yourself a favor and hire a different company. read more

We found Chris Burke through Floor & Decor in Pompano Beach and made appointment for him to come out and measure for large wood look tile installation of about 1000 sq ft. His price quote was better than 2 local companies and he said they do about 700 jobs a year. I explained to him that we are very particular and have high standards when it comes to tile installation because we want grout lines to be thin (3/32) and perfectly spaced with each tile and level. He said he would send one of his best installers named Frank and he could start the job in a few days. Frank arrived on time every morning at 8:30am with his partner and made sure to clean up at the end of every work day. They installed the specific metal transition pieces I provided so that it was exactly even with the existing flooring in other rooms. The job was completed within the promised timeframe and Chris made sure to follow up on the progress throughout the process. read more

This contractor cannot be trusted. I was sent an estimate to do work on my master bathroom along with an invoice for a 50% down payment, before they would start the project. After I paid the deposit they then told me a mistake was made in the price and I would have to pay them an additional amount before they started the job. Obviously I had no interest in having them do the work when they pulled the old bait and switch. Such poor business ethics. read more
