My daughter formed many great lasting friendships from the preschool and caravan program, now carried into the youth group! The people there have all been so encouraging and truly do become family! Bethel Church in Evansville has driven their senior class of more than 50 people out of their…read moreclassroom and therefore the church. These are folks who helped build that church from the ground up. Many have been there since the 60's. The senior class has been pushed out of one room to another until finally now being told that if they want to meet at Bethel, these elderly people will have to travel to the second floor to a small prayer garden. It was even made clear by one of the pastor's staff to the elders that the church is doing great financially. Clearly letting the elders know that their tithes are no longer that important. The pastor of the church (Prince Samuel) didn't even have the respect to meet with these people who have been the foundation of this church for so many years. They've been forbidden to have an American flag or even say the pledge of allegiance in church. Now these wonderful, Godly people are basically forced to find someplace else to gather. I guess I just don't understand a church who would do this to these members of their congregation. Someone should ask this church what would Jesus do?

One of the sisters took a small group of us on about an hour tour, highlighting both historical and personal stories related to the sisterhood and it's beginnings. I seriously can't believe something like this is located, not only in Indiana, but in such an industry parts of southern Indiana. Religious or not, I highly recommend carving out some time to stop here and admire their beautiful architecture and traditions. The cherry on top is that the sisters also established a brewery on site!! Are you freaking kidding me?! breathtaking views of southern Indiana, amazing architecture, and then I get to have some pints?? Yes, please! Both the gift shop and brewery except cash and credit cards. I really love how the gift shop sold handcrafted items made by the sisters to raise money. I definitely plan to visit again. My tour in the Fall colors was incredible!

On a weekend adventure with our cousins we decided to check it out. We met a wonderful and knowledgeable sister who told us the history of the monastery. It was so beautiful and there is so much history here. The architecture is amazing. If your like me and have never stopped to check this beautiful place out, you owe it to yourself to visit. It's just absolutely gorgeous. We also visited the brewery and the gift shop which are also awesome
