The church leadership sets the example of lending a hand while preserving the dignity of those served. For these reasons and others, we are happy we joined this community. His sermons are the highlight; he preaches directly from the Bible with heart and clarity. For parents, the peace of mind here is unmatched. Not only is there a fantastic playground the church built for the town, but every single Sunday School and nursery worker is CPR certified. It shows how much they truly value our children's safety. If you want to move beyond Sunday morning, their Growth Groups are where life happens. They are small groups focused on helping each other grow spiritually and navigate life's struggles together. I love that he is completely true to himself and transparent. I also appreciate their desire for a more multicultural church and that they don't shy away from talking about current cultural issues. The worship is perfect in my mind; not too showy or flashy as they usually just have a guitar or two, keys, drums and a bass. It's simple yet well done and I find it to be very enjoyable. I would recommend this church to anyone looking for a chill no pressure or expectations church experience.

From the outside, it reminds me of an old tv repair shop with stain-glass windows and a small parking lot adjacent to the building. It stands on the corner of Chicago and 38th Street, two very busy and infamous intersections, that have their own stories to tell. The inside of the church is small; two level. When you walk into the double door, there's a small entryway and then a room of many chairs and a pulpit that takes up the majority of the west wall. It's a modest church, with a congregation that is warm, inviting and friendly. Your greeted by ushers and provided with a bulletin of what's going on within the church weekly and for the month and sheet to give any prayer requests that you may have. Service: You're coming for the message, but I suppose the combination factor are the people as well, who help make up the congregation or who visit. The Pastor, Curtis Farrar, preaches a message that has passion and heart and knowledge, but he has an approach that makes him relatable and real. He seems to really care if you have a relationship with God and wants to teach you how to. They have prayer on Monday at 7pm, Bible Study on Wed at 7pm, Friday night service at 7pm, Sunday services at 9 & 11am. I'll be back!

The website and the image that they market themselves under is not consistent and true with the type of church that it is. They market themselves as a non-denominational church that is welcoming and open to all and is there to help bring new comers into the path of Jesus Christ. One gets the impression that it is friendly to new people and those who are of younger generations. In actuality it is not very welcoming and the crowd is much older then I was anticipating. I was probably one of two people under 30 in the crowd of 40 or so. The pastor had good content but his delivery was a little off-putting. I'm not a fan of being told when to say "Amen" or being prompted to say "Hallelujah". Also, they take communion which I only have experienced a few times at other churches that I have gone to but this is a weekly experience at 3 Degrees. I am neutral as to taking weekly communion since bringing the spirit of Christ into one's body is what the whole purpose of the act is about. As someone who is new to Christ however, it was not a place where I felt very welcomed. The music is a bit to gospel and out-dated. I just couldn't feel a connection to the greater Purpose here.

A lot of churches say they welcome all at the communion table and then you see that there are rules. Not this place. Everyone went and some as couples, some as families even some a friends who seem like they met that day. They have a brand new pastor with a lot of new energy and it seems like they're really into his preaching style. he's got a lot of charisma too. Did I mention their music? I mean, they have like a 12 piece orchestra, a praise group, and more. Mostly GLBT folks but a lot seem to bring parents and straight friends. and the building is beautiful. must be at least 100 years old. She's a grande damme. Check them out!
