I seriously can't believe something like this is located, not only in Indiana, but in such an industry parts of southern Indiana. Religious or not, I highly recommend carving out some time to stop here and admire their beautiful architecture and traditions. The cherry on top is that the sisters also established a brewery on site!! Are you freaking kidding me?! breathtaking views of southern Indiana, amazing architecture, and then I get to have some pints?? Yes, please! Both the gift shop and brewery except cash and credit cards. I really love how the gift shop sold handcrafted items made by the sisters to raise money. I definitely plan to visit again. We checked in and they let us reserve a conference room for our meetings. The reservations include breakfast, lunch, and dinner. There are some continental food items always available. The rooms we were in each had two twin beds, a bathroom, tv, desk and a chair. There is a community area where we all could meet as well. It is such a peaceful place. St. Meinrad is a Catholic based school. But, we have met other groups who were not Catholic but are using the facility the same as we were - to have a retreat. We went on a tour of the place which was worth it in itself. The place is beautiful, and peaceful. Even if you are not staying the night, stop in and check this place out!

The caskets on display were beautiful examples of craftsman woodwork, even though they are a little morbid! Worth a quick stop in if you love architecture, stained glass, feel inspired by religious spaces, or appreciate peaceful environments. We didn't take the tour, but I imagine it has some interesting history. Very hilly to walk around, but the ability to drive and park at nearly all buildings. After your visit, I recommend a quick drive to The Chateau family restaurant.
