LOCAL PARENTS...DO NOT *EVER* PLACE YOUR CHILD IN KID'S CONNECTION DAYCARE IN GULFPORT ON OLD HWY…read more49. Today was the first and only day my son will ever go there. I dropped him off at 6:30 am. When I picked him up at 3:30 pm, I walked into the back and he was FACE DOWN in a crib with the sheet pressed up against his nose and mouth and was struggling and making distressed sounds. There was a puddle of moisture around his head larger than a plate and his onesie was soaked all the down to his belly button. When I checked his diaper bag, I saw that in the time frame of 6:30 am - 3:30 pm he only had been fed ONE time. When I asked the staff about this, I was told he had been fed at 9:45 am only. I questioned a staff member and I was told that "it was illegal in the State of Mississippi to wake a sleeping child to feed them". I found out that this was a lie when I called the Health Department and reported this daycare for the neglect of my son. I spoke with the manager (Mr. Don) and he confirmed that my son was only fed once and he was the person who placed my son face down in the crib between 11:30 am and 12:00 pm. The manager also confirmed to me that my 3 month old son who cannot roll himself over laid face down in the crib with his face pressed against the mattress for 3 1/2 to 4 hours struggling to breathe. I was told that the reason he was placed face down in the crib was because I "didn't specify that I wanted him to be laid face up". If you value your child (and really what parent doesn't?) find another place to watch your children.
