I am stepping off of my usual reviews to write about the Catholic Church we go to. As a frequent…read moremover due to my job, it is important to find the best fit to practice one's beliefs. So if you are Catholic or if you are not and looking for a comfortable place of worship, St. Anthony's is the place. Father Chris is one of the best priests that I have met... let me caveat that I am not the one to make myself known, hence I look for several things when finding a church. These things are: the priest's message or homily, community service, comfort factor, the place of worship, and overall sense of well being. St. Anthony's provides all of these and much more. Out of the many churches I have been to, besides my hometown church, St. Anthony's offers a non-threatening, non-intimidating place of worship for those of all levels in our society. The people of St. Anthony's give back so much to the community. It is the combination of this service and Father Chris's messages that keep us here every week... Oh and the 30 minute, early Sunday morning mass is a keeper too!

Beyond this the cantor really hit all the right notes, and had a strikingly good voice. Good way to end 2022. Parking was available on the street or they had a lot. The bathroom was small for men but ok. All the workmanship and stonework was very nice. The Christmas manger - beautiful. Loved the art and ornaments how they all were curated.

I was a member of this church for many years. I took all the new members classes and lot of other…read moreclasses as well. I attended every week for years. All of a sudden they informed me I was not a member and to become one I had to take a bunch of new members classes that were taught by people who were no there for even a year. I found this demoralizing and demeaning not to mention absurd. Also I could see they only hired their own family members for the church except for the maid who was a struggling single mom. Needless to say I left.

I know absolutely nothing about coming to this church every Sunday. However, last night our friends…read moreinvited us to an event. It was a comedian and fundraiser. The comedian was funny and completely appropriate for family. We sat in the balcony and could see perfectly and our seats were comfortable. Maybe st importantly, childcare was provided! There was one room for little ones and another for bigger kids. I came back to a happy boy and everyone be there was so kind. We felt very welcome and would definitely consider coming here again!

I originally met a group from this church at a community event where they had a booth set up. I am not Methodist (I am Baptist), but for some reason I was just drawn to them. They were bubbly, friendly, and so outgoing. I took their information, and went on my way. But for 2 weeks I could NOT stop thinking about that group I met. So finally, I said well...I'll just visit. See what they're all about. I have never felt more welcome at a church than I did this morning at Christ United Methodist. They are ultra low pressure, and are genuinely just happy you came. I've tried many different churches in the area, and have never had people go out of their way (and especially without me asking) to show me around and chat with me. After the service was over, the pastor took time to speak with me about some questions I had (as I really had no idea what Methodist was all about). I didn't feel like he was rushed or dumb for asking questions (on some heavy topics, I might add). He was very friendly, open to answering all my questions, and said he hoped he saw me again next week. This particular church is not progressive, but they're not ultra conservative either. Anyone from any walk of life will be eagerly welcomed, as the pastor says this church is simply "Jesus centered." I appreciated the warm, welcoming environment and friendly faces. I also enjoyed the more contemporary music from their band. They are a medium sized church, and offer the standard morning beverages (coffee/tea) in their kitchen area. It was a wonderful, refreshing experience, and I'll definitely go back!
