Since this was a new home, and leg work was non existent. He agreed to split the commission in half and give that as the closing credit. So I was calculating to get 5k as the credit from him. When the closing day came, he played this trick with me, saying he has to pay 30% to this broker (he owns the broker company as well), and split the rest 70%. Thus I only got $3500 instead of $5000.
