And then I look at the front office and they're simply overwhelmed and I'm thinking underpaid as typical in these kinds of Industries and with that being said the the issue with the front office is you call and I always seem to speak to George and George is it seems to be a very nice gentleman but his job is to Simply transfer me to a voicemail for the nurses and the nurses advised that they will reach back out to you within 48 hours which is really impossible for them because they don't have the time to respond to voicemails because there's not enough of staff to address patience that need help. The level of care and my most humble opinion is moot. I was blessed to have the opportunity to to be in the presence of Dr Donald Atkins for maybe 10 minutes and post surgery didn't even see him and that in and of itself speaks volumes of his lack of bedside Manor. Our initial meeting with was going to be discussing the procedure although Limited in information I specifically requested not to be sent to the Methodist hospital for this procedure for very very personal reasons and that request was absolutely ignored I was told we could do the procedure within his facility and he even stated that but that didn't happen and because that didn't happen I was very upset that he or the office rather didn't tell me I was going to the Methodist hospital for this procedure until I was getting prepped for the surgery and he made the comment about me taking my anti-anxiety medication and I indicated that I had not and Dr Atkins indicated that his staff didn't feel comfortable was me at the time although I wasn't happy with being there I was certainly not disrespectful in any way with the staff I just wasn't there to make friends I'm there to get the procedure done and I didn't appreciate the fact that my request was not adhered to. And because of that Donald made it a comment with regards to an incident that happened at a Dallas facility with a veteran who had PTSD. Essentially he made the insinuation that I was one of those kinds of people with PTSD that would go off like that and which means he's labeling veterans with PTSD are all the same and would go off and do something stupid which is something I certainly took offense to and he has absolutely no idea of the different variations of PTSD I've never exhibited any kind of aggressiveness towards him or his staff. I found his comments to be egregious offensive and absolutely unprofessional so in short, I could never recommend Donald Atkins for any kind of surgery even if it was on a tick because he doesn't seem to care about the things that he says and the bedside manner is just not there. My only recommendation it would be that perhaps Dr Atkins should choose a different field of employment that doesn't involve human beings because he certainly didn't treat me as such.

I am a 30 y/o female who is over weight and has a desk job. I was curled up in bed for months! I even took medical leave from work because doing daily tasks became very difficult. I drove 4 hours to see Dr. Galvan for my first consultation and he scheduled my surgery within 2 weeks. Surgery was quick (1.5 hrs) and minimally invasive. My disc herniation ended up being 2 inches at time of surgery (Oct 2018). I had very little pain after surgery. The hardest thing was remembering not to lift things or bend your back. I'm saving $425/month in premiums. And there are no deductibles (saving $3000/year). Also, I love that, when I call with an issue, I am almost always seen the same day. Blood work, basic labs are done there and included. And the one time I needed to see a specialist, Dr. Hodnett called to make my appointment (the next morning) and arranged for a significant discount of that office visit ( it was only $100- still saved $325 that month!). Plus, you get to know your doctor and visa versa. I love Dr. Hodnett. He's proactive. Actually listens to my concerns and has never made me felt like he was being dismissive or placating me like a child (like my previous dr in town did). And the entire staff - at both locations - are so wonderful! They're always pleasant, and have gone above and beyond to help get us what we need when we need it. I tried Chiropractic, steroid shots, Arosti. Nothing worked. I actually went to an alternative pain clinic several times. One morning after the session I could not get off the table. They had to help me sit on a couch. Some mornings, I could not walk at all. My wife would have to give me pain killers, gabapentin and muscle relaxers before I could move again.
