This review is for our pre-event reservation experience. We did not end up holding our event at the…read moreEngineers Club, so we cannot review it in that capacity. We are not local to Dayton (we live on the west coast), or what happened might have been avoided or handled far earlier. We rented the auditorium at the Engineer's Club for our wedding welcome event. We were going to have a movie night, and told them this up front. We saw photos online of movie nights in the Engineer's Club auditorium and were excited to have a similar event there. When we signed the agreement, we were told that the movie equipment, including "dvd player, projector, movie screen, and sound system," would cost $200 on top of the $900 venue rental fee. We signed the agreement and paid the non-refundable $900 deposit that was required (the full venue fee). We asked if a lower deposit was possible, but were told no. Four months before the event, we flew to Dayton and visited the Club to meet the event director and walk through the space to go over the plans. In the auditorium was a small presentation screen. The kind set up on its own free-standing easel. Imagine the old overhead projector screens from school in the 90s--the screen was smaller than our home television. We were told that was the movie screen for our event with an estimated 120 guest count (as written in the agreement). It turned out that if we wanted an actual movie screen that fit the auditorium, we'd have to pay even more to rent it and a projector from an outside AV company. We admit we were at fault for not confirming more details (movie screen dimensions, projector model/capability) before signing and paying the deposit. But the Engineer's Club could have been more clear and transparent about what facilities they had, and that our event was not a good fit for their space unless we were willing to spend more. Rather than paying the additional rental costs, we found a charming movie theater in Miamisburg for less than half the price, and it included all the tech required to show a full-size movie. The Engineer's Club agreed to refund a portion of our deposit, which was kind, but we were still out a significant amount of money because of how expensive their original deposit was. Because of our experience, I cannot recommend planning a private event here.

Had my grandma birthday party here and it was ok!…read more We had to provide our own trash bags the restrooms were dirty we had to clean it and have our own toilet paper. Nice size space. But no real kitchen. Kind of mad there was no real kitchen to warm food and there was a fridge but it was completely full. The dumpster was far and we had to walk (drive) all the way around the building to empty the trash. Owner was nice space was ok and it fit 75 people easily. There is a dance floor

Charging to rent broken tables. Rented to accommodate 100 guests only to be told they only had 83. Some chairs were broken all were the cheap light weight kind . Kitchen consist of a locked refrigerator so you have nowhere to store your food that needed to stay cold. No sink to wash dishes. Did not supply toilet paper or paper towels so bring your own. We also supplied our own hand soap. There is a counter and 2 folding tables in the kitchen for use. We had to clean bathroom. Unattended little child running around while we're trying to setup and build our balloon arch. Would not recommend. Unprofessional

Flat floor, no slope, we were 25 min early but stadium seating, sat 1/2 way back. Difficult to see the stage, floor is flat. Sound system was 2 lg speakers above the stage and the actors had hand microphone - should be head sets. Could only hear maybe 1/2 of what was said. Play: couldn't see it, couldn't hear it, Left early. Bottom line on this: Won't be back

It was a fun night with 80's music, trivia , dinner and of course the movie. The mood is always fun and the bar has a nice selection of beers and cocktails themed on the movie. The crowd is always fun and dresses up for each movie. We had the grand prize trivia winner at our table. Highly recommend checking them out with a group of friends

One server dropped a bundle of dinnerware on my wife while she was sitting still eating, no apology - just a nasty look like it was my wife's fault. Ordered drinks then never saw our server again, eventually flagged down another server to ask for our drinks after we were finished eating. We had expected professional musicians but were very disappointed in both the musicians and the food. We have been to their fish fries and they were good but we will not go to another Jazz on the Green. .

Ample parking is available on site, to the rear of the building. This large facility is a combination of neoclassical and art deco architecture. With multiple floors and many meeting rooms & lounges full of architectural symbols related to the Masonic fraternity, it is a showcase for the high watermark of historic Masonic temples. Still occupied by the Masonic fraternity and it's various appendant bodies, it is a vibrant well used community facility and does host other events from time to time. A tremendous asset to the Dayton region.

For an event where movement might not be possible, good luck on hearing anything that could be said. The reception I attended had plenty of room. Two bars set up. A DJ. A dance area. The tables. No complaints on my end Food: Some people fret over food at weddings, I personally could care less about the food. It was perfectly adequate wedding food - Its what I want at a wedding, some mashed potatoes, green beans and chicken. Only complaint was the pork was dry. Bar service: I'm not sure if they have an inhouse bar staff or you have to use a mobile bar service but none-the-less the bartenders were great and the drinks were flowing and strong. --- Our service unfortunately fell on a colder day, I imagine if the weather cooperates you could open the doors and have an outside cocktail area during the transition from ceremony space to reception, but even with the weather being cold I thought the staff transitioned the area well. I visited the Ohio Barn B&B yesterday as the photographer for a wedding being held on the property…read more The property is stunningly gorgeous, featuring several rustic barns. The event was held in the main barn, and below the event space there is a beautiful suite for overnight stay. The suite features a full kitchen, spacious living and dining area, and a large bedroom with a huge bathroom with beautiful stone walls! The wedding was a wonderful success, and the venue is the reason why. The staff is incredible and professional. Photo opportunities on the property are almost endless, and span a variety of styles. I absolutely loved my time here, and I am already planning a stay for myself and my husband.
