Working with Rafi on setting up the event flow and discussing the details was super helpful and one of the few non-tedious aspects of orchestrating what felt like a wedding weekend! The entire team who were on site were phenomenal -- engaging, happy, helpful and fun for all our guests. We had a big group... 40 kids, 50 people around our (parents) generation, and about 30 in the grandparents generation, and people from each group commented about how awesome it was to have entertainment that was actually fun for people of all ages. We had the jigsaw puzzle maker, and people got to take home nice keepsakes, and we also had the escape room, which was a lot of fun! Kids were able to be successful at it, and it also challenged parents (I say this from experience!) We are grateful we don't have to plan another brit mitzvah, but if we did, we wouldn't hesitate to book Eureka again!

We had the games and puzzles, plus custom jigsaw making (was great as a bar mitzvah gift, rather than the more generic clothing items), Escape room (it was a hit with both kids and adults) and MC and DJ services. I want to separately say that having Rafi as a partner in event planning was invaluable - he came to the venue prior to the event, met with us several times, provided numerous suggestions and advice (on timing, music, highlights, etc.) and coordinated with the venue, caterers and photographer. The second half involves audience participation, but it's not mandatory if you're more on the shy side. The actors were incredible and very funny. They brought some modern twists and definitely some Boston jokes which I enjoyed. You will laugh a lot and have a great time trying to figure everything out. Overall, I think this would be a great show to see for locals and tourists alike. Perfect for a rainy day as well if you're in the area!

I love how their performers were able to adjust to and roll with each audience's feedback...and many times, returned with even funnier responses. It does take a talented crew to be able to work together and do a bit of improv to keep the audiences highly engaged and I definitely thought the team of performers I saw did such a fantastic job that night. I honestly went in without much expectations but definitely came out really happy that I got to see thus show. Many audiences felt the same as well. P.S. restrooms are underground and behind the stage...so you may not be able to get in there until they start letting the audiences in. However, once we began the logistical aspects of him working at the venue we ran into several problems. The venue requested insurance and he not only refused to get the insurance but also was incredibly rude to the vendor. We ended up having to pay out of pocket for the insurance. On the day of our wedding he showed up an hour late to the venue, refused to do a microphone/audio check, and was badmouthing the venue to other vendors. He got in an altercation with the venue owner, and had to be removed from the premise right after our ceremony. He was insanely unprofessional, messed up our audio for the ceremony, and there was severe feedback from the microphone used by our officiant. Unfortunately I would not suggest him to any bride who is having a ceremony at a private venue.

The cast is solidly entertaining. From the most depressed office worker ever, to the ditzy secretary all the way to the evil head of human resources, everyone has their moment and makes you laugh like crazy. One great aspect is the audience can be really involved if they choose. The cast won't call on you if you don't want to participate, but you can help pick the improv topics they use or even be in one of the games. It's a smart, relevant show and everyone who walks out will think I KNOW people like that! I sit next to them at work!

Will you be the next employee at FishnetNetworks .net? Like most potential new jobs, here are some…read morethings you should know going in. This show is set up to be one heckuva funny show. And for the most part, it delivers the goods. The cast is enthusiastic, the plot is something 99% of us can relate to (with the exception of those who treat Yelping as a full time job), and audience participation is encouraged, something that has lead me places like the Improv Asylum over and over again. However, there are some other factors that keep me from gushing all over this theater production, which include the venue, the script, and the pacing of the show. Let me start with the script. As the audience, we represent all the new hires at the company FishnetNetworks .net, and the cast is setting up the orientation for our first day. Anyone who has seen "Office Space," or any production that mocks the cubicle culture of corporate America wants to laugh and point at all the stereotypical characters the actors portray. "OH MY GOD, we have the EXACT SAME GUY AT MY WORK!" or "YES, I am absolutely terrified of my HR department." Where Fishnet gets a little cumbersome, is that the storyline is based entirely on each of the character stereotypes making fun of the other stereotypes, to the point where the audience starts to roll their eyes. Take "Priya Patel," the Caucasian woman from Maine, who tells us she was adopted by Indian parents, but is not Indian. The initial reaction to meeting her is great (Oh, shouldn't you have a funny dot on your forehead somewhere?), but when the cast continues to act oblivious to the DOZENTH time she reminds them she is not Indian a couple hours later (later on pacing), I felt myself channeling Will Arnet from Arrested Development with an emphatic ,"OH COME ON!!!" The joke was clever and well presented, but making it so repetitious made me want to stop hearing about it. The pacing of the show started to bother me in the 2nd act, but looking back, the 1st act lead to the problem. From the beginning, you're expecting audience participation - the ticket lady tells you when you enter. The cast reminds you at the start of the show - they even chat with you while you're getting seated to set up their characters, which was great! Great momentum going into the show! You're sitting there, waiting for a hilarious improv show. Whether it's you or someone else they call on for audience participation, you're pumped for your first day at FishnetNetworks .net!!! Unfortunately, the first half of the show barely engages the audience in this way. They could have told us we were a group of warlocks learning about a computer company, and it wouldn't have felt any different. The show goes on a,"here's this character... and now this character...and now her... and him, etc" formula, which was funny. The actors are LIVING in these characters the WHOLE show. But the audience gets accustomed to just watching and not participating. In the 2nd Act, the cast FINALLY turns to the audience to participate and lend suggestions, which felt awkward. OH NOW you want me to contribute? Ummm, I've got nothin'! Case and point: A woman seated in front of me raised her hand when a cast member asked her to name a job type, and instead of having that awesome knee-jerk reaction to just say the first thing that came to her mind, she fumbled and bumbled over her thoughts, and took what seemed like an eternity to come up with,"ummmmm, Radio Host." If more audience participation took place at the start, I bet the audience would have maintained more positive energy throughout the show. Finally, the venue really got to me. Not the fact that we were in Club Cafe, but outside the performance area, the main club/bar area filled up and got LOUD. For nearly the entire 2nd act, you could hear constant talking and murmuring. This isn't a fault of the production, but the noise distracted me from focusing on the show. Maybe something to consider in the future... In summary, I enjoyed the performance, and even when I felt the plot became muddled, or audience energy died down, the actors maintained their composure and successfully carried the show. I love the whole concept, and if the script was shortened a bit (side note: take out the whole motivational speaker section, it made no sense), and some of the repetitive jokes were modified, that would go a long way toward making FishnetNetworks .net more consistently enjoyable from start to finish. Increasing the audience participation at the beginning would also keep the spectators engaged throughout. And any way we can move away from Club Cafe? Not that there's anything WRONG WITH THAT... it's just loud, is all.

RockOn Concert Cruises are a fantastic way to spend a beautiful summer night! Last summer I…read morechecked out the Deer Tick/Aunt Martha concert cruise on an evening where the weather couldn't have been more perfect. The crowd was crazy into the Deer Tick set, but I fell in love with Aunt Martha that evening - a great lineup choice by the outdoor boat venue, giving voice to a talented, much lesser-known New England act. The sound quality wasn't bad for being pitched around in the wind, there was ample space to move even though it was a sold out show, and while you still spent too much money on plastic cup drinks, good music on a boat sailing around the Boston Harbor made it worth it. I'll definitely be scouring the lineup again this year for good shows - if you can't get on board with a summer concert cruise I'm pretty sure you're a freedom-hating terrorist, and you and I should not be friends. See ya'll on the mother effing boat!
