We enjoyed Chef Marco's banter and dumpling instructions, but I admit I was sad to not witness their cuteness in person. Patty called over the TV at one point and held up cute signs all the way from Taiwan. I don't drink and was delighted to find a NAB in the cooler along with a variety of boozy and other options. A spread of amazing dishes awaited us and we also got to eat the dumplings we made. It was a little weird to be 2 cooks at the party, so I think going with a group would be super fun. But then you wouldn't get to take home quite so many leftovers as we did! It was certainly a memorable experience, check it out if you're looking for a different kind of cooking class.

I don't want to give away all of their secrets but a few highlights were Beacon Hill Chocolates, a fabulously adorable little shop with amazing artisan chocolates, 75 Chestnut, where we were served a unique and superb toasted almond chocolate soup and the Melting Pot, where we got to try 4 different dessert fondues! A few people mentioned this tour was pricey, but I disagree. Good chocolate is pricey. If you went to Beacon Hill Chocolates on your own, a box of 4 chocolates would have cost you $10. We got to try 2 chocolates and a sample of gelato. A small fondue at the Melting Pot would run you $18. We got to sample 4 different types. And those are just two of the stops! I actually think it was a bargain! The founder actually joined us on the tour and it was apparent that this was his passion and a lot of time and effort went into finding the places to feature on these tours. I really had a great time and I left stuffed! But I can't wait to try another neighborhood for more amazing chocolate discoveries!

Our guide was very personable, and each stop consisted of a worker at the shop discussing with us the history of the company, the chocolate they make, interesting facts, etc. Since then, we have gone back to several of the places we discovered on that tour, most notably Hotel Chocolat on Newbury Street. My sister and friends scheduled a private cupcake tour for my bachelorette, figuring it would be along the same caliber. It was not. 1. Not sure if this was the person coordinating the event or the guide, but we were told to park in the Boston Common garage and given the wrong address to the first location. This resulted in half our party having to take a cab to the correct address, and the rest of us doing a 15 min walk, past many other parking garages. We were then almost 20 minutes late meeting our guide. 2. Half our party showed up a few minutes after us since we had been split up, but the guide was hurried and wanted to get started right away without waiting for them, even though it was a PRIVATE tour. She didn't know it was a bachelorette, wasn't overly friendly, and gave us cupcakes from another bakery at Cakeology, but neglected to tell us that, so when I praised the girl working at Cakeology about the amazing chocolate cupcakes, she was completely confused. 3. Obviously cupcake/bakeries are a little more spread around than chocolate stops, but our tour consisted of us walking from Downtown Crossing, to Beacon Hill, to Newbury Street, to behind the Pru by the Christian Science building. We spent more time walking than we did in any of the actual bakeries, learning about the cupcakes, the establishments or even enjoying the actual tasting. At one point, at Georgetown Cupcakes (where we didn't even go inside or get greeted by anyone working there) our guide said let's walk and eat...down Newbury Street, on a busy Saturday afternoon. Not enjoyable. 4. One stop was totally random, at Johnny Cupcakes on Newbury. For those not in the area, it's a niche t-shirt shop, they don't sell cupcakes. They did have cupcakes from a bakery in Malden (why, I'm not sure...because nobody told us). We just kind of stood around in there while our guide chatted with her friends working there until she asked us if we were ready to leave. 5. This is the real annoying part - we walked all the way down Newbury, past the Pru and Hynnes, all the way around the corner and down towards the back of the Pru by the Christian Science Center for our last "stop" with the Kickass Cupcakes truck. They weren't there. I have no idea why our guide didn't think to call them to confirm their location before we started walking over there, but when we got there, she called, and they were at the corner of Clarendon and Newbury, where we had just been. She then offered to go back if we wanted to...we all declined. Tour had been billed as about 3 hours long. If it had started on time at 1:30, that would have put us around 4:30. Because of the address and parking issue, we really started at around 1:50ish, and we were done before 4pm. I can only attribute this to the fact that we didn't spend hardly any time in any of the bakeries before being shuttled off to our next destination, and then completely missing the last cupcake stop. I felt bad for my friends, because this was something special they planned for my bachelorette and paid extra for to have a private tour, and it was a total joke.

Mobsters and Lobsters is a mafia story laden trip that ends up at the south shore popular lobster eatery. Although Mother Nature and the traffic in downtown Boston decided yo play games with us the owner who's name actually is Tom Collins, started off with a quick quip yo get the folks settled and the first round of beverages were begun. Tom brings us around to the spectacular locations and spots where specific mobsters from the years past were doing their cunning and not so cunning work. Tom's knowledge for this thoroughly interesting topic is unmatched. His serious knowledge of the history of other significant historical places and events speckled with his dry "Bastan" humor. Made this trip extremely worthwhile. The duration was four hours long which also included a Lobster dinner at a local eatery on the south Boston harbor. I haven't laughed this hard in a long while. If you are in beantown for a spell. I highly recommend you and you motley crew join Tom for an interesting alcohol added trip back in time. I am positive your jaws and cheeks will be sore from laughing so hard. Be aware this is an "R" rated trip! But very worth it. Thanks Tom for making this a great memorable evening.

I've been using CCA Transport for years now and I have never, ever had a problem. I use JK Quality…read moremost often and they are always on time. Today I had a truly lovely talk with CCA Teansport. First of all, Diane D (I asked for her name so I could write a review) was friendly, knowledgeable, helpful, and up to the task of me changing my mind about when I wanted to depart about four times in a row. She booked four rides for me within minutes and then I asked her if there was any chance CCA had airport transportation. I have tickets for two concerts this week in Virginia, and I was so hoping to go because the singer on tour will likely never tour again, but I was having a great deal of difficulty getting a ride into Boston Logan. Diane was so happy to help and got me a ride immediately. I have recently been dealing with a great deal of pain and I haven't been treated very well , especially in hospitals, by some of the doctors and nurses. I was just released from the hospital this past Wednesday. To talk to someone like Diane today, who made me feel like a real person rather than another number, was truly heartening. It was everything I needed. I'd like to thank her from the bottom of my heart. And thanks to CCA, for hiring someone so skilled in customer service.

I've had an incredible experience at Musician's Playground since I started last February. What…read morereally made the difference for me were the instructors Miles, Rocco, and Thomas, who helped me build the confidence to play the guitar more freely and start improvising in ways I never could before. They don't just teach you what to play, but how to think about music: the theory I should know, how to actually practice effectively, and how to keep learning beyond the classroom. There's a real emphasis on listening, rhythm, and interacting with the people around you, which completely changes how you approach playing. For me, it's gone from "can I play over this song?" to "I have ideas about what I can improvise here," and musically, that's one of the most freeing shifts I've experienced in my life. Also big shout out to Dave and Brooke at the front. They are always there to welcome everyone in and make sure you feel comfortable from the moment you walk in, which really sets the tone for the whole place. The variety of classes and sessions they offer means there's always something new to explore, and the value of the group classes and membership is honestly unmatched. Completely worth it. Everything is accessible, the instructors are fantastic, and the environment is genuinely welcoming. It's been an immense creative escape, and I'd recommend it to anyone looking to grow as a musician or just reconnect with music in a meaningful way. I was excited to try piano lessons here but my experience was not client-centered. First, the person who connected with me about discussing what I need was going to call me on the phone but was inconsistent about scheduling. Then, although everybody was polite (if you discount my instructor asking me "no, but where are you *really* from"), the instructor I was matched with definitely did not start with where I was at and imposed their own perspective and agenda on me for how we would be learning because it's what they were familiar with. Also, during the lesson, the space was loud because people could be overheard singing. So, it was very difficult to hear the instructor and concentrate. Looking back, I think the person that I initially connected with to discuss what I was hoping for probably just wanted to make a sale instead of being straight up that perhaps what they had to offer did not match my needs.

We had a ~85 person wedding in Boston which we planned from across the country (in LA) and we…read morewouldn't have been able to do it without Elena and her team. Elena handled all of the booking and management for almost all of our vendors. She kept us on task with everything we needed to do even though my wife & I often missed deadlines. There was an online planner that we collaborated on so we always knew what needed to be done and understood all the moving pieces. Her team handled all of the design and production of everything which made both the event and planning much more carefree. Elena is very knowledgeable with all the different vendors we could work with in every area and was happy to also help us find others when there was something specific we were looking for. On the day of, her was very helpful as things came up to help us adjust the schedule and coordinate with everyone involved. The guests loved all the unique elements that Elena's team help us coordinate and set up like the specialty coffee cart, postcards + mailbox as a guestbook, ramen station for late night food, etc Looking back, we truly got to be present and enjoy our day because Elena and her team had everything under control. Our wedding day ended up even better than we imagined and is undoubtedly one of the best days of our life. If you're planning a wedding, hire Elena - you'll actually get to enjoy your big day!

Fall 2023 Boston wedding around 250 people. Booked for 1 year, ~10k. To be fair it was a hard…read morewedding - cultural nuances with the both of us being out of state and having demanding jobs. Positives: -fair price for full year, set up vendor meetings, good Save the Date designs, good bridal party makeup/hair, wedding painter, and florist suggestions, good communication with maid of honor and best man day of. Problems: - no organization/foresight. She procrastinated booking vendors. Her reasons: unresponsive vendors due to busy wedding season. When my husband or I contacted vendors, we got quick responses. My husband and I booked most vendors. - Aside from Catherine who left, never met other coordinators prior to wedding day. - No running budget of who we owed money to & amount. Did this ourselves. - Frequent loss of info. Most notably, she forgot we had party buses. Then tried to tell us we told her we didn't want party buses. - Save the dates and invitations were sent ~5 months later than deadline. We have guests from out of state and country needing advance notice to make arrangements. So we ordered/mailed save the dates and designed wedding invites ourselves. We got no communication about designs for wedding invites so did it ourselves in contrast to what she claims. - No communication for months. When we asked for weekly meetings, she lied saying it was not included in our package. Pamphlet we were given prior to booking clearly states unlimited meetings for full service. - Elena was unprepared and ~25 min late to the rehearsal. There was traffic and others were late too. Rehearsal was longer than necessary because we repeatedly corrected her. She then blamed me for sending her a "different timeline" even though this was a common shared timeline she made herself. We were ~45 min late for our rehearsal dinner. - On the bus on the way to the ceremony, in front of the entire bridal party Elena asked me about our balance not being paid for the limo. - Elena did not attend the ceremony and we were not aware prior. She stayed at the reception hotel. Our venues were booked one year in advance so all parties were aware of the locations of our ceremony and reception. The coordinators at the ceremony should have attended the rehearsal because they were clueless. Coordinator wasn't aware that she was supposed to cue us from the bus to the church until a bridesmaid told her. She then lined up the wedding party out of order which they fixed themselves. - My cousin was the one who came to church early to turn on lights and heating. - Coordinators gave no instructions to the choir. My husband and his parents walked down the aisle in silence after being told to start by the coordinator. Josh wanted a song to be playing. Later, Elena blamed my husband for going ahead "too early" and said "it happens" when he complained. - After our ceremony ended, there was no signal to walk out. Yes we practiced our entrances/exits but that was more for the order of walking in. There was no music or choir during our rehearsal and even though Elena had the list of songs we were playing for our entrances and exits, you still need to coordinate with the choir. So yes, you DO need a cue in order for the wedding party to exit, as we've seen at other weddings. My priest asked where the coordinators were. Nowhere. After an awkward silence, the choir randomly played music so we could walk out. - Biggest mistake: At the rehearsal, my husband and I emphasized that it was important that wedding party exits church then immediately returns through side doors for pics in the church. When everyone exited the church, the coordinators lied saying that the plan changed with bride approval (how the hell do I give approval while I am in the ceremony?). So all were directed outside without proper instruction. Most left. The coordinators mentioned that there was no time for photos, but we ended up being fine with our schedule. - the coordinators were inside gossiping instead of taking care of the chaos they caused. My bridesmaids + partners coordinated with bus drivers to get everyone off the buses and line people up on the stairs for bubbles. - we were rushed by the coordinators for our post church park photos again because of "time." I didn't pay ~15k to our photo/video just to skip this. - When lining up for the reception, Elena made no effort to find my missing parents. - Elena lined the wedding party up by our church order for the reception entrances. Bridal party and DJ corrected her. Overall the day went fine thanks to our families and friends. I was stressed the whole year. Every time we brought up an issue, it was made to seem like it was our fault or it's normal.
