Generally I've only had cleaning, but recently needed an old bridge replaced. They did a GREAT job in prepping for the new one, including matching tooth colors to existing teeth. I brought my 3 year old in for a simple fluoride treatment (she sees a pediatric dentist that is an hour and a half away). The dental hygienist saw our intake form, knowing my daughter was afraid of the masks and put one on anyway. Then, Hawksford came into the room and proceeded to yell at my daughter to stop crying, took a mirror and said, "This is what you look like when you are crying," and then asked me what was wrong with her and if she's been through trauma. Finally I stepped in as things were escalating and told her she was making it worse. She then stood up, and said, "Ok! Well if I'm making it worse then we are done!" Pushed her chair very firmly and stormed off. I picked up my things and left immediately. No treatment for my daughter. I asked where to file a formal complaint and the front desk person told me to send in a letter. My daughter has been to the dentist several times and is usually upset, but calms down after the treatment. We have never seen anything quite like this. Needless to say, I will NEVER bring my child here again. I will also be making my experiences known to anyone that is seeking dental care in the Hayward area. I DO NOT recommend you or your child to go here.
