I had an extremely negative experience with this agent at an open house for 174 S Windsor Ave,…read moreBrightwaters, NY 11718. When I asked two very standard questions -- 'How old is the roof?' and 'Was there ever any work done to resolve the water issue in the basement?' -- instead of answering, the agent became condescending and said to me: 'You are too cheap. You tried to buy this property for too cheap, but got rejected so now you are here to take apart the house. I have dealt with people like you before. If not in person, then on paper.' For context, this property was originally listed at $1.4M and had dropped multiple times -- to $1.1M, then $899K, then $849K, and finally $799K. I submitted an offer of $750K, which is only 6% below asking and, importantly, represents a price per-square-feet higher than what other comparable homes in the area are selling for. Rather than treat this as a reasonable negotiation, the agent mocked the offer and dismissed me. During the open house itself, the agent escalated further by demanding that we leave the open house immediately, and as I was walking out, he slammed the door behind me. This behavior was insulting, hostile, and unprofessional. An agent's role is to represent the seller while treating prospective buyers with basic respect. Real estate agents are expected to negotiate offers respectfully, regardless of whether they or their client find the offer acceptable. Instead, this agent drove away a serious buyer with rudeness and personal attacks, ultimately working against the seller's best interest. This agent treated us like trash and acted as if our $750K had no value. If you value professionalism, transparency, and respect, I would strongly advise avoiding this agent.

It was during the beginning of corona and he was slow to return calls and didn't seem too interested in helping us out. Mary was the complex opposite. She would immediately returned our phone calls or texts. She knows the area well and can help direct you to certain areas. When viewing houses, she knows what to look for and knows what to ask their agent. We found our house with a few weeks! Thanks for your help. Btw, the negative reviews below are from nasty individuals who have an unfounded gripe and have never used Mary for real estate purposes. It's too that people will stop to such a low level.

She never showed the house. My husband and I showed the house every time. My husband and I conducted several open houses without any agents When we had a buyer ready to go into contact, she did not vette the buyer to make sure they could afford the house, or recommend any incentives to the buyer. She new nothing about any prospective buyer, sometimes she didn't know that we had a showing. When I requested a conference call with the Broker (Mary Adams) she was extremely rude and completely unprofessional. The marketing was extremely poor. They would not let us out of our contract. Needless to say, we wasted 9 months with this broker. The worst experience with a real estate agency ever. They complained that my house was priced too high, so I guess that gave them liberty to dismiss my listing. I cannot and will not recommend them to anyone.

He is, without a doubt, the most patient, knowledgeable, and detail-oriented realtor I've ever worked with (and just a lovely person to boot). Roman took the time to truly understand what we were looking for and worked tirelessly to ensure that every option aligned with our needs. He made us feel comfortable and confident at every step - always listening, answering questions with care, and offering practical advice when viewing apartments. When we finally found *our* apartment, he was with us every step of the way, helping us assemble an outstanding team of professionals who made the process seamless. He expertly managed the complex coop application, ensuring that we felt completely organized and prepared at each stage. Having him in our corner when we encountered roadblocks or issues, made the overwhelming moments feel far more manageable. We are incredibly grateful for his guidance in helping us find our forever home and for the team he built around us. I wholeheartedly recommend Roman to anyone searching for an apartment or home (and have already done so multiple times). Do yourself a favor--work with Roman!
