While the pre‑migration and initial migration went smoothly, there were scheduling mix‑ups despite clear communication, and post‑migration support was extremely limited. Our consultant was OOO, responses were slow or ignored, availability was minimal, and we had to push repeatedly just to get any response or to schedule the included post‑migration support hours. An especially frustrating part of the experience was the communication structure. Nearly everything had to go through the office lead, which made it feel like we couldn't communicate directly with our assigned consultant. When we tried, the office lead would respond instead -- often misunderstanding our questions and providing answers that didn't address the issue. Her demeanor was consistently off‑putting and unpleasant, especially on calls, and we often found ourselves asking, "Who's the client here?" Despite several clear emails confirming our migration date, she was expecting our file nearly two full days ahead of the scheduled date, and we had to remind her -- with attached email threads -- that she had the date wrong. Most of the guidance we received was "I don't know, I'll look into it" or "that's on Intuit," and follow‑up only happened after repeated requests. For the high cost of their service, the level of expertise, attention, and follow‑through fell far short of expectations. When our consultant returned from OOO, there was no follow‑up on the issues we had discussed, and no one from VARC checked in on our open items or overall experience. We ultimately hired another consulting firm that was far more knowledgeable, responsive, and able to resolve issues VARC could not or did not. Based on our experience, we would not recommend VARC for IES consulting or migration support.
