I did notice they seemed to be lacking furniture, and really heavy on the Knick knacks, but I suppose that can vary at any given time. Also, there were a lot of stained clothes. When I mentioned it to the other owner, she said everything had been washed. Well, washed doesn't mean all the stains came out. I can only assume those stained clothes were not negotiable either. Note to owners: It's bad business to be rude to your customers!!! Live and learn, I guess.

I had shopped ALL of the new furniture stores in the area, as far as Jacksonville and was wondering if my budget was going to leave half my house empty. Kirkman's was a very friendly, welcoming place to shop, and by the end I was wishing I had a few more rooms to furnish! High quality and good taste in everything I saw. Their collection of empire and early victorian furniture is simply without peer. And that's a tall compliment given some of the nearby competition. Prices are not the cheapest, but their selection often means that you're picking between a few strong pieces, and that's a bit of a rarity when you're looking for this sort of furniture. The people there are friendly and willing to negotiate, and I've been delighted with the four or five pieces I've picked up there over the past few years.

The shop owners and workers were so friendly and I felt like I was a family member instead of a customer. They even loaded it into my truck for me, which was a nice surprise.
