While moving things out of a storage I realized that my kids bunk bed had broken , I called this…read moreplace and spoke with a young man, he was polite, knowledge able and he quoted a price for the "last" bunk bed in the store, I needed a bed that night which I had already explained, the sales man stated the bed was the "floor model"( I should have hung up then) but he stated that it had no ware and ,would be priced at a discount, I told him that I would take it, I told him my name and what time I would be in that evening , when I arrived i was told that sale person had gone home, the guy who I now was dealing with was the owner, he was extremely rude , sarcastic and condescending, at first I thought to ignore him and just make my purchase(so my kids would have a bed to sleep on.. that day i had the worst luck it started raining while dealing with the man foolery, the owner wouldn't breakdown the bed he also hiked the price up wrote out the receipt with the overpriced amount and refused to listen to me he started yelling at me and refused to call the sales man that quoted me the price , he called me cheap several times and said "but, I'm not trying to be rude" after , he turned off the lights on me while we were still in the store, by then , the other furniture stores were closed. I don't know if this old timer is racist or just arrogant but he is definitely rude and, most of all unethical in his business practices , he wasted my valuable time and I'm glad i didn't waste my hard earned money......I wouldn't tell my enemies to shop here.... This place doesn't deserve even 1 star how about -10

The pricing was amazing, the customer service was superb, and the delivery was prompt. He bought all his furniture at the location and we don't regret it. The customer service was great, we were greeted immediately and the staff was helpful, not at all in your face trying to make a sale type of people. The delivery men were very fast and very professional! The poor guys had to deliver a bed set, a huge couch, chairs, TV Stand and a coffee table to the 3rd floor. Not once did they complain. I recommend this store to anyone looking for furniture.

Despite the industrial exterior and the proximity to fresh bait, the interior feels like a high-end retail environment. Think Crate and Barrel, Restoration Hardware, or Chip and Joanna Gaines' Magnolia complex in Waco. There's plenty of space, ample light and items ranging from a few dollars to thousands are all thoughtfully displayed. Stepping back outside was a bit of a culture shock! The furniture is the star of the show, and H. Lancaster's creativity and craftsmanship are evident. Whether repurposing familiar items in clever ways, unique designs, or featuring the grain of a gorgeous piece of wood, you will be impressed. There's no mass produced, laminated particle board here. It's quality, solid wood "investment" furniture. You can buy off the floor, but it looks like some folks order custom pieces too. I was delighted to see a gallery devoted to local artists, including Portland's Dinah Bowman. Dinah is famous for her fish prints, but she has other pieces as well. The collection includes original paintings as well as prints and greeting cards, featuring lovely beach scenes, boats, local landmarks, families playing in the sand. It's the kind of art you'd want in your beach house, or the perfect vacation remembrance. After you go through the main store, you can also go through the (un-air-conditioned) workshop and upstairs to another showroom. If you're not in shape it might be a bit of a workout, but it's worth it. I also appreciate H. Lancaster's dedication to recycling, reclaiming and repurposing wood and other materials. It's not only good for the environment, it obviously inspires creativity. After a visit here, it just might inspire you too!

Starting this off, I will say my review is going from a low score to a high 4. We were delivered a…read moremattress which did not initially match what I ordered in the showroom. When I first ordered/visited the showroom on SPID, the salesman was very helpful, informative and patient. Let me check out any mattress I might be interested in, made suggestions based on feedback from me. Again, the wrong (extremely firm) mattress arrived and it wasn't until it was on the frame and we were able to sleep on it that it was clearly not going to be the mattress "of our dreams." Pun intended. I let my personal frustration get the best of me and basically made a stink about the situation (hence the reason this started as a low score), but Mr. Cantwell contacted me and refunded the cost of the mattress immediately. He wanted to make sure I was happy with the product before accepting payment. We made arrangement for a new mattress to be delivered with the proper top layer which matched what I ordered (and WAS ordered according to the receipt) and the new mattress was delivered. It's going to be a long-term relationship with this one. We can immediately tell the difference. Exactly what we wanted. Thank you, Curtis. Happy customer.

The last set of antique chairs he did for us were uncomfortable from the start, and within a few months the seat was sagging and the fabric was baggy. He claimed it was the fault of the foam manufacturer and charged us for new foam and new fabric - the same as the the first time we paid for a total redo! We have paid twice for the same chairs, and he off handedly remarked if he "had used better quality foam" the first time it would not have happened! Why didn't he use the right quality of foam the first time?? We will never recommend his work and will never use him again.

The appointment was made for 10am but the morning of the drivers called and asked for an earlier time of around 8. This was not possible but I told them I could be there earlier and we agreed to 0945 meet at the PODs facility. At 1000 the driver called and said he would be 18 minutes late. The driver called again at 1020 and said he couldn't find the place. I then called in the main like to talk to the manager. The manager said the truck was having trouble with the address of the PODs facility. I told him the address again and the manager started accusing me of supplying a completely different address. I told him no, I of course gave him the correct address. He then started yelling at me stating I did not give him the correct address. We argued back in forth, him shouting no I gave the wrong address, and me calmly stating yes I did. He held his ground but why would I give a wrong address? I need my stuff moved. He then said his truck was across the ferry in Aransas Pass. There is not a PODs facility in Aransas Pass and the address' given were in Corpus Cristi and Rockport. He said the truck spent too much time driving around already and we should just cancel your move. Complete unprofessionalism, and lack of competence, and to actually yell at a customer accusing them of lying, repeatedly. I had to deal with substantial predicaments due to not having my things moved. 0/10

Then we proceeded with the rest of our items to check out and the assistant manager was fidgety pacing while the other lady put the filter away. She then went back to her and said they want the filter. NO we said we would return at a later date for the grille and filter yet she almost tried to force the sale. I just didn't like her style or personality. It was a hard clash. and her inability to help. We will NEVER go back. Totally frustrating experience
