I called a few other shops, and all of them said I could stop in to discuss my ideas. No problem! My idea was basic, and literally any decent artist could do it. However, most of them treated me like I was a nuisance. Whatever. It's not like I was a paying customer or anything. Finally, someone treated me with respect. The lady helped me by giving me Athena's email address to send her my ideas, so I payed my deposit and was on my way. The time came for my appointment. Since I hadn't met with Athena, I was instructed to come in a little early so she could consult with me and draw up my idea. She started by drawing my quill right onto my arm so I could see the placement. She then drew a quill in three different sizes so we could pick the perfect size. Athena was great about giving me her honest opinion, but still let me make the final decision. We finally agreed on the size, and she began. This definitely wasn't my first tattoo, but I apparently don't handle the wrist very well. I am embarrassed to admit this, but I got extremely light headed. Yep, that's right. I almost fainted. Pause for humiliating laughter. Athena repositioned me and was really great about the whole embarrassing situation. 5 hours later, and I was finished. I seriously cried when I saw it. I'm definitely scheduling an appointment with Athena next time I'm in Fargo. The prices are fair and everyone is really friendly. Their vibe is so incredibly unique from other places, if you walked in there you'd immediately get it. It's not your typical rough and tumble, almost intimidating tattoo place but it's a lot more low key, and I guess spiritual? is how I'd say. Another cool thing, it's female owned and all of the tattoo artists and the piercer are women. Girl power!! Steph is my lady, and she is SO TALENTED. Just saying that she is an unbelievably skilled artist is only putting it lightly and not giving her the justice she deserves. She is truly in the right industry. She's also just so nice and down to earth so you feel very comfortable from the get go. Steph's section of the shop has a ton of her watercolor paintings hung up, and I usually just stare in awe at those most of my appointments because they're awesome. Most of the artists have their own art hung up all around the shop which is super cool in my opinion. Just take a look at some of the work Steph's done on me, and you should see just what I'm saying. When she worked on the gems on my arm, she used this special technology to make the gems black and white outlines, and she said she looks at them a specific way, in which she's been trained, in order to bring them to life. It was just so fascinating to me and I know I can trust her with anything. She's done half of my tattoos and I'll keep going to her as long as I am able or anytime I'm in town. She's great at designing ink as well. I had an idea for a tattoo I really wanted but wasn't quite sure how to make it all come together. I told her what I was thinking and she helped turn it into an amazing tat that I get tons of compliments on. I really can't say enough good things about Steph and all the rest of the gals at Bee's Nest. If the other women aren't tattooing they'll come say hi during my appointments a lot and chat and they are all just so sweet and welcoming. I love this place!

I went to Kimberly Trenda at Simplicity Salon for hair extensions in March. Kimberly recommended…read morethe Babe flat tip extensions and told me I would need seven packs. While looking at the extension samples, Kimberly said that she would have to dye my hair first and then choose the extension that matched the best. She failed at matching the color to the extension. The day after the extensions were installed, there was some pulling and tension. Kimberly told me this was normal. After a week, it was just painful. I noticed that my scalp was red and blistered. So, I reached out to another local Babe-certified stylist for a consultation. She told me that the extensions were painful because they had been installed incorrectly. She was also confused as to why the color did not match. I also sent pictures to Babe, and they said, based on the pictures, that the extensions were not installed the Babe way. To get these issues corrected, I had to pay to have the extensions removed, then pay to have my hair dyed the correct color, and then pay to have the extensions reinstalled. The new install used half the amount of extensions, the color matched perfectly, and there was no pain. I reached out to Kimberly to let her know, but I never received a call back. After not hearing anything for a month, I decided to dispute the charge on my credit card. On top of all these issues, Kimberly Trenda charged me a 5% service fee to use my credit card. This is illegal as the limit is 4%. I wasn't planning to leave Kimberly negative reviews and wanted to put this awful experience behind me. Unfortunately, when Kimberly learned of the dispute, she decided to put me dox me in a Facebook group. She created a post informing other stylists that I disputed the charge. She added my married last name and my previous last name. She even went as far as to dig up old photos of me and posted them in the thread. She is completely unprofessional, and I highly suggest not using her services. Who knows what she will do if you are unhappy with a service?

Unfortunately I was scheduled last minute for a doctors appointment at the same time my beauty appointment would be for and Lynn was so understanding about a 2 hour notice and found it best to reschedule. However Jenna called me as my appointment was ending to see if I would want to do my was still and I felt like they really cared and tried and appreciated me as part of their clientele!! Jenna makes you feel comfortable in her setting and is spot on in knowledge. If you've never had a Brazilian wax like me but are curious I highly recommend Jenna at Enchanted Beauty.
