Zero customer service. Stood in line for 20 minutes to ask one question, and I was not even acknowledged once by the gentleman running the front till. He chose to restock pamphlets instead of making eye contact and/or saying "I'll be right with you". I walked out and will go somewhere else. I would definitely call before you arrived at almost famous. they definitely need to come up with a better system , maybe some customer service. Stood in line for 45 minutes to get a new ring not once did anybody come and say that It will be a little while nothing. They could of ask anyone if they are here for piercings are anyone here to just buy merchandise nothing was addressed. I've been looking for a shop with decent quality jewelry for a little bit and I found this shop in the mall. I was reading the reviews and was a little nervous about the low ratings but decided to try it for myself. I'm very glad I did because as soon as I walked in, I was greeted by a friendly young lady named Sydney. She helped me pick out a hoop and a stud, politely answered all the questions I had, and kept me well informed. We conversed as she rung me up, she has excellent customer service. I've had many piercings in my life. Good shops and bad. Almost famous is a fantastic place to be pierced. They are professional as well as very organized. They take walk ins only and you get a very soon appointment after filling out the appropriate information. I got the pleasure of having Airyana as my piercer. She was very professional and kept me very calm with conversation. First piercing or 20th I recommend here as a great place to go. read more

Their line system is absolute garbage. I waited in line for an hour and a half without being acknowledged and when I finally went up to the door to ask how long it would be or if I could quickly get what I needed I was very rudely told get back in line without hearing what i had to say. All I needed was a $2 ball to a piece of jewelry and I was in and out of the store within 3 minutes. They need to come up with a better system. read more

I came all the way from Grand Forks (2 hour drive!!) to get my 10 y/o sons ears pierced. I called ahead to see what documents they needed, they said an original birth certificate and parents ID. I brought both documents to the appointment and showed them to the lady at the counter. She said "the birth certificate has to be the original with a seal." I said this IS the original with a seal. She said "no, this isn't the right original." Wtf it was literally THE ORIGINAL WITH THE SEAL ON IT!! They refused to pierce my son's ears and we had to leave. Seriously F**k this place! read more

AVOID. My family have all been customers of almost famous for years. Today was the last straw with them. We have only had poor experiences. My sister was pierced wrongly by a intern, I have crooked piercings, my mom had a cooked piercing that needed to be taken out. Today we went for another and weren't even acknowledged outside of the store where you need to wait due to Covid. And someone behind us was greeted and appointment taken. We ended up walking away disappointed yet AGAIN. We are finished with them and they lost our business. read more

Not organized at all, said they had opening at 4:45, but when we went back the gals said they weren't taking anymore appts that day. I asked if we could make an appt for the next day and she said they only take same day appts so I couldn't book in advance. Asked if they were going to have someone on Monday being it was a holiday and she said yes so we came back early the next day only to be told the piercer decided to take the day off. I hate their service here. Absolutely hate it. So many struggles and irritating service. Only go here when deadrockstar is closed etc. this one time I came in to get a nose ring a clamp one and had this girl look at it for me because I don't know the size so she gave me one that she said was the same size. Paid left tried to put it in was not the size called back and they said all sales were final and I said absolutely not ur employee sold me the wrong size give me a new one now. I got another one it was the right size but still did not fit like clearly. My other nose ring was wider so it could fit the placement where my piercing was pierced. This one was obviously smaller in width. They are not professional at all. So I said screw it spent 20$ on nothing went to dead rockstar and Alex looked at my nose ring right away she knew the size and the width it'd fit my nose. I recommend deadrockstar all the way. There's so many more stories that even my friends have had bad experiences with almost famous. read more

Maddi the piercer was awesome (she actually gets 5 stars). I just wish she worked somewhere else. The 20-something, maybe-manager (?) was extremely cringy. She was such a passive-agressive snot I almost walked out. I listened to her talk down to another customer (who DID walk out) and after my piercing, I heard her talking on the phone to someone else in the same manner. When I told her I no longer lived in the US, she went into her computer and in a fake-chirp said, "I found your active account!" . I only wrote my city and country and she INSISTED I write an address, "for an emergency." It didn't matter that I literally live 9,000 KM away from Fargo!! Jesus. She was so over-the-top annoying and superior I felt like she should've been in a SNL skit. I know it's hard to find help these days but she needs to be deprogrammed! Just AWFUL! Drive a little out of your way and go ANYWHERE but this place. read more

Sophia did an excellent job with the tongue piercing I received today! Friendly, thorough, and very quick. I had also received a septum piercing at this location in March, and the woman who helped we was fantastic as well. Septum healed up nicely, it was evenly pierced and it is my favorite of all my metal. 10/10 would come here again. read more

Piercing prices seem reasonable, I did not get pierced but they helped me find the captive bead ring I wanted (If you want a plain one for piercing, they are in a box by the register). I have gotten most of my piercings done here. They're always helpful and friendly, especially when the store isn't very busy, they take the time to help you find exactly what you want. Today I went in to see if they could help me change out my septum piercing. I've had so many people attemp to put my new clicker in, to no avail. An extremely friendly and personable employee named Emily helped me with my problem-piercing for only $5 service fee. WORTH IT! Have had both good and bad piercing experiences here, honestly use almost famous as they are only store in town that will pierce my daughter due to her age. Last nite was final trip there. Supervisor/manager/trainer was horrific to front desk staff, telling her she could not leave building during break as she may not be able to have a full half hour break. Then made new staff so nervous she could hardly function, not training, just breathing down her neck. Horrible treatment of staff BY staff. read more

I went there to get my tragus pierced and out of all of my piercing experiences this was the worst. The lady piercing me put her sanitary gloves on then went around touching a bunch of dirty doors and such. She didn't take her gloves off until I told her she should put a pair of clean ones on. After that, it took her two tries to get the needle through. Then I requested her to get someone else. Finally on the third try they got the needle through. On my way out they were quite rude. So after that experience I only go to addictions from now on, so much better and an amazing positive environment. I have never had a bad experience at addictions. Snotty attitude from the box dye red head. It seems they get annoyed when you ask questions. It was my first piercing. My nose, and I was very concerned about the process. But another girl did my piercing and she was very nice... And explain everything to me. Would I go back? Maybe if the red head wasn't there. Everything is with a needle. My friend went in there to get help removing a nose ring and get a new one and she acted like she was completely bothered to be doing HER JOB and treated my friend like an incompetent person. WAY over priced. i went and got a double navel piercing and they put to small of a ring in on top and its digging into my skin. causing a huge sore.. and when i went back they demanded i pay for a new ring, when it was their mistake!!
