Let me tell you that my wife and I was so impressed by the Alaska Resort. All we kept saying if we're get back to Alaska, we will spend more time here. When you arrive at the hotel, I had this feeling that we were in someplace like the Swiss Alps, I've never been there but from what I know from seeing on TV, my opinion. The hotel is just beautiful and our rooms were just amazing as well, everything top notch! We had 2 Queen beds in our room, a dressing/ sink area and enclosed bath. We had a coffee machine as well with fridge below. We left the room to walk around and we came out the back to find snooze giving us all a show as it bathed in the pond, what a site. We took the tram up to the top of the mountain, where I then continued with others to climb the path to the top. It was truly Gods country, just beautiful all the things you saw from up there. After getting back into the resort, we sat a table in the bar with our wonderful bartender made us dine very fine drinks! It was very relaxing. We went to dinner in the restaurant and had a light dinner which was also delicious. Like I said, I wish we had more than one night there, the Alyeska Resort is just beautiful, enjoy the photos

Walk through the resort to buy tickets for about $55 at the booth for non guests. Expensive. They had a deal where it's about $20 extra, $75 to have a "meal" up at the top. It's not really a meal per se, it's just get anything up to $25. We didn't do it because the restaurant at top opened at 11 and thought we wouldn't have time but I guess we should have. The tram ride was comfortable, in a big cable car. It was only us and another couple. The top has a beautiful view. You can do a short 0.5 mile hike to the top top. You can see the mountains and glaciers. Can't cross the bridge to continue your hike since it looks like it's tours only beyond that point. There's a few chairs outside to enjoy the views. We didn't go into the restaurant but I'm sure they have a spectacular view too. We came in mid August. Lots of mosquitos around, and at the top. After the tram ride we stopped by the gift shop and got some birch candy and reindeer beef jerky to try. Parking was free and easy to find in the morning.

At first I thought this park wasn't even listed on Yelp. Which is insane, it's MASSIVE. Then I…read morerealized it was listed simply as "Russian Jack Springs", which makes it sound like a quaint Canadian hot springs in the mountains...(I've since submitted an edit, it should show up with "park" in the title now) It's not that. It is a shockingly great park. It's in an area of town where you wouldn't expect to find a park, and it's quite massive. It's got green houses you can tour, a hill for sledding, trails for hiking/running, and even a GOLF COURSE and CLUBHOUSE. Is it a bougie golf course and clubhouse? Of course not. But it's cheap and solid. Golf for the people! I got some BBQ from Smokehouse which is less than a mile away, ate in the park, then went for a short walk on the trails to burn off that brisket, and I was still back to work in time. Don't take Anchorage living for granted! I hope to come back in the winter to get on that sledding hill!

Is there an Alaskan Snow Snake? (see pic)…read more After the fresh snow, there are so many cool things to gander upon. And even though there is a fresh powder, the tracks are still visible and ready to be skied. I can only speak on the cross country ski trails here, but I've been super impressed with them. There is also a sledding hill, skate skiing area and a lodge style building that I've never seen open. I understand there are also community greenhouses on the property that you can check out. After three trips here and over two hours spent, I have yet to see the entire park. So much to explore, great for beginners, and well lit. For being so close to a major road, I'm amazed at how quiet and serene this place is. There's a private parking lot, off Lidia Selkregg Lane. I've never had a problem finding a spot. I think parking is free because I didn't see any fee stations.
