When I took it to a local auto body shop, I was told it was a very complicated and expensive process and that it would cost more to fix it than what my vehicle was worth! Note here: My Jeep Cherokee has been the most dependable & reliable vehicle I've ever owned! I couldn't accept this opinion that my vehicle wasn't worth saving!! After making some calls, I took my Jeep to Ray. As soon as I pulled into his shop, he came out, helped me immediately, and had my door hinge welded and fixed in about 30 minutes and for less than $50!!!! And all of it done with good old "down home" friendliness! I will always go to Ray anytime I need any welding done and will recommend him to all of my friends and family. I had a little job where this vent pipe needed to go through the metal roof on my cabin so after…read morelooking and calling around I spoke to this older man and explained to him what I needed done and he says oh yeah that will be easy so I ask him how much he thinks and he says approximately 4 hours labor and materials. The time was set for 12:00 and at 1:15 two men arrive saying they decided to stop and eat lunch before they got here so then they pull out tools and ladders and climb up to get a list of what they needed. The two men climb down saying they need supplies and will return. 45 minutes later they return climb up and finish the job at almost 6:00. The man tells me the materials cost 68.00 and they will have someone send me a bill. Couple days later I get the bill and it's almost 11 hundred dollars and I couldn't believe it so I called and the older man answered and we discuss the bill which he proceeds to tell me that his men had a total of 7 hours in the job and I say now wait they didn't arrive until 1:15 because they stopped for lunch and then they left to go get supplies and he says well the clock starts ticking when they left here to drive to your house. I say let me get this straight so I'm charged for their driving time, them stopping to eat lunch and going to get supplies for a job that your company supposedly is equipped for? He proceeds to tell me to pay the amount or he will see me in court and I say I'm going to speak to a lawyer and he hangs up. Later that day a sherif knocks on my door to serve me with papers to appear in court. I call and the older man answers and I explain to him this is ridiculous and I will just pay the amount and he says no wait now their is more charges because he had to leave go to the courthouse to file those papers and I will have to pay that also. Well let me tell you I paid in full for the job and his time driving to the courthouse and court fees. Beware of this business unless you have an endless amount of money and enjoy being robbed.
