I love this place! Dr. Chung and Mrs. Chung take very good care of their patients, are extremely caring, and knowledgeable. I came in with debilitating sciatica (couldn't walk without excruciating pain) and Dr. Chung put a comprehensive treatment plan together for fast relief. Within 45 minutes after my first acupuncture treatment, I was able to walk and my pain had lessened ( more than 15% improvement after 1st session). By the time I finished 6 sessions, I had more than 50% improvement. I'm starting my 2nd set of sessions now and their herbal medicine, and I fully expect I'll keep maintaining progress until I'm completely well. They go above and beyond for customer service. At the beginning of October, I conducted the longest run of my marathon training (22-miles) and severely injured my IT band and knee. I woke up one day unable to walk properly, which shocked me since I put in about 25 miles a week. I couldn't even begin to imagine running 26.2 miles a month later. I ended up signing up for six sessions. Each one ran me about $90. About the acupuncture experience... - They took me to a room where they had me lay down. Dr. Chung inserted several needles into my quad, knee, and foot. - He then attached these metal clamps to a couple of the needles (similar to jumping a car), and they pulsated the most damaged areas. - After half an hour of having the needles in, he removed them and hten applied something similar to Icy-Hot on my leg. - With each session, he would move the needles closer and closer to the injured parts of my IT band and knee. I was having excruciating pain in my right elbow, which isn't my dominant side. The place I generally go to wasn't open, so I came to Yelp and saw that Dr. Chung had great reviews. The only reason I gave it two stars and not one is because they were able to get me in the next day and he and his assistant were very pleasant. I had to tell him where the pain was and he counted the needles that he used, and told me I would need 4 to 5 more sessions, which would be almost $600. I have been to several acupuncturist, and I've never left in almost the same amount of pain that I came in with. For the most part the pain was alleviated in one session. I decided to give accupuncture a try literally as a last resort for my unexplained rib pain. I had about every test you can think of and went to a ton of different doctors ruling out everything under the sun. It wasn't until I went to Dr. Chung that I finally started feeling relief! I was a huge sceptic, but I am so grateful I found Dr. Chung on Yelp. For those out there like me who have never tried accupuncture, don't be afraid. It really doesn't hurt; it feels slightly stronger than a mosquito bite when the needle goes in, but feels very relaxing afterwards. I will say I almost didn't go back after the third treatment because I was in more pain than when I started, but this is a normal part of the healing. It was truly after that treatment that my pain levels went down significantly. After 12 treatments, I am happy to say that my pain levels remain around a 2 or 3 when they had been at an 8 to 10 range for roughly 6 months. I have been to many specialists all these years, in which, unfortunately turns to no diagnose. I end up being medicated for the timing of the situation or get on trial medications and then I am back with the same problem. This year, the episode frequency increased to a level that was unbearable (every month), causing a lot of problems for me personally, missing work, not being 100% there for my family and expensive hospital bills. My husband found Dr. Chung through online search and said I needed to try. At first, I was skeptical, not only because it was something new to me and I did not understand the power of acupuncture and I was never a fan of the needles. However, I needed to give this a try. Four months later, here I am, and not one episode thus far. I have not lived this in my life for such a LONG time that I did not know what it was like to just be a healthy person again. I have TMJ (a jaw joint condition) and went to Dr. Chung hoping acupuncture might help me put an end to it once and for all. I'd had two sessions of acupuncture before that had seemed effective but they were also combined with massage so I wasn't sure which was the bigger cause of the improvement. I've had six sessions so far and have noticed a major difference. The real eye opener for me once when I asked Dr. Chung if he could do some acupuncture points on my neck as well as my jaw as TMJ is affected by neck muscles. He did and right after the session, a muscle that had been locked and tight over two years was completely relaxed! I can't state enough how major that is. Nothing I've tried has ever had that kind of effect on my muscles, not moist heat, not stretching, massage, or even physical therapy with the electrical pulse machine -- nothing! I am a fan of acupuncture for life now. While having the TMJ therapy I also told Dr. Chung I had some leg pain. He treated that condition too -- just one treatment made an immediate difference. I started seeing Dr. Chung mid June as I had been dealing with upper hamstring issues for a while. As a runner, this is a pain that can limit your activity. I wasn't sure what to expect when I first went into his clinic. I knew this wouldn't be a cure, but I had hopes that acupuncture would be able to help with my pain. Well, I've seen him for about 10 visits now and it has been truly an amazing experience. He listened when I first told him about my issues and told me about the treatment. The pain has subsided tremendously after about 10 visits. His wife is always there to greet me when I come in and makes me feel right at home. There is so much that I want to say about Dr. Chung, but I'm just going to say the must important. I went there with my wife looking for some relief for her back after one lumbar and one neck surgery. She had fusion surgery a year ago, and even thought the outcome was a success she was left with a pretty acute Myofascial pain in the whole back. She was using several pain killers and she was doing some trigger point injections on her thoracic area, but nothing was working. And to make things worst she started to experience lots of side effects from years of pain killers. That's when we decide to look for an alternative medicine and we found Dr. Chung. He received us, and listen to us for almost an hour. After explaining us how the body works and what can be done to fix the issue, we decided to give it a shot. Where do I start....talk about a God send!! I was diagnosed with gastro paresis which is basically a slow emptying stomach.
