Close to everything and convenient. Fills up quickly. Rates are good too. Drive smaller lower vehicles.

I discovered the Walkersville Southern Railroad when researching Polar Express inspired train rides…read morein the area- our kiddos aren't quite old enough to fully grasp the magic of the experience, so I've been hesitant to book the large immersive expensive experience offered by main lines- I thought it would be a good idea to start with a more 'low-key' experience & see how it went- ~60min train ride with a visit from Santa, carolers, and the conductor- the kids had a magical wonderful time- they enjoyed having their photos taken, their tickets punched, and hearing the train go choo- I would say their joy made the experience- on its own the train was as expected more basic-a bit underwhelming- 30minutes out, then 30 minutes backward. I understand development happens so seeing a lot of backyards of houses, development centers, and more modern town- it is what it is- but for a next experience I would like to find a ride that offers more scenic experience & a bit more variety in the ride I was also a bit disappointed with the kid's Santa's gift- the advertisement came off like the gift was a bell (reminiscent of Polar Express), but the kids were gifted some sticker create a train kit- it really wasn't a universal gift for all ages- both my kids weren't old enough to understand what it was, so basically I put the gift together-they said cool & moved on- it would have been nicer to have something more rewarding from Santa.

Well I think we have to be honest here. The ppl that work the train are very, very nice but they…read moredon't have much to work with. Train is cute but definitely worn. No Christmas lights of any kind on the ride. No availability for snacks or drinks. We were in the Parlor Car for $50 per person over 2 years. The highlight seeing Santa was of course the main event which was great. Might be a good idea to give this Santa a makeover. New suit to start. Real beard on this one but could have had better maintenance. He was jolly enough and of course the kids were happy. But remember the adults are taking memory photos.... Mall Santas show much better. So in essence for the $300 we spent on the hour ride there should be more of an investment on the company end! Merry Christmas!

This is top notch garage…read more Both accessible by North Market Street & East Patrick Street; one side buts up to Carroll Creek itself with the Library right on the Creek. The other side buts up to bustling East Patrick Street where some awesome businesses live. A great record shop, the bagel shop (think it's called bagels and cofee), the delicious Thai Place: Summita, Cafe Nola, Dancing Bear Toys and Gifts... I can just keep on going. There's a great little antique store right there. Anyways, it's one of those garage that you get a ticket when you enter and then you pay the ticket before you leave. The only improvement they could make would be to have more ticket paying stations. I think there's two on the ground floor and ... to my recollection, that's about it. It's cheap to park there, it's in the middle of everything, and I've never had a real issue finding a space. It's one of those garages where you just keep ramping up up up or down down down, which makes it not as confusing. Although, if you want to turn around and there are no spaces... that's a bit difficult. But this is kind of my go to garage if there is no street parking, or if I'm staying longer than 2 hours :) Which is often. Interesting fact: there are public restrooms in the garage. No Seinfeld episode at this one!

Make sure you take your ticket with you so you can pay on your way back to your vehicle. Also, pay close attention to where you exit the garage so you can easily find your way back. Lastly, its affordable, after being parked here for 3 hours and paying $3, you cant beat that!
