Although big, the church has various small groups that meet during the week and weekends in homes or sometimes at the church. These groups are Bible study groups. Some groups are social groups as well. There is always a way to get connected with others even though the church is big. Attendance declined a little bit after COVID but many people still come to Vineyard Columbus or the other smaller campus locations. The lead Pastor for a long time was Rich Nathan. In 2021, Eric and Julia Pickerill became the lead Pastors but stepped down in winter 2026. Currently, Vineyard Columbus is searching for a new full time main Pastor. I attended Vineyard Columbus when I lived in Columbus during my University/College years. I loved the sermons and the optional small group meetings. Back then, there used to be a young adults group called Joshua House that had various social outings and praise and worship nights. I enjoyed attending a retreat once with Joshua's House which was fun. Church is welcoming/inviting and they offer complimentary tea and coffee in an open gathering area. They also offer free used and new books in this open area. They have Spanish services available too which is nice. It didn't get overly packed. A lot of people came late and even while Rich started preaching. Lol. It's known for being culturally diverse which is cool! I'll bet it's easier to find more of these types of churches in larger cities. Worship is always good. Longer than I'm used to. They sing a good mix of gospel, some older contemporary, and newer contemporary. The singers are so talented! They have such powerful voices! They are so aware of culture that they also sang one part of a song in Spanish. Awesome! The sermon is academic. Rich Nathan used to teach at OSU, so it makes sense that he'll bring in all kinds of knowledge into his sermon. They're long. It may've been an hour long sermon, I think? They speak openly about social issues and are aware of things that the city is failing to do. But they don't say this to point fingers, they say it to show that churches can do more to help the community. They even help out with ESL! They guide you through communion which I think is fantastic! Not sure why some church plants don't do this... they even read the scripture in another language! On Sunday, the guy read it in Farsi! Very cool! It's a nice church! I've never had trouble with parking or anything. There are two lots on either side of the building. There's also a cafe in here that serves food! It always smells good and I would love to try it if I'm ever back here again. A lady greeted us at the door which was nice. They don't have greeters into the sanctuary. I'm so used to it that it was different that they don't do this. But it's only because they have the pamphlets and communion stuff prepacked on a table before you take a seat.

It's well organized and they have many programs…read more If you're looking for true disciples of Jesus (you can tell only by their love for one another), then you need to look elsewhere. They don't like to be corrected if they are off or learn something they didn't already know. They are rated high in gossip and don't practice Matthew 18. They prefer going to leadership to accuse rather than confronting the person themselves or even taking another with you. This always happens in high control churches. Narcissistic leadership goes unchecked. I don't feel the Holy Spirit there. They prefer their community over Jesus and many don't want to get involved in spiritual warfare. (If you leave the devil alone, he will leave you alone theology which is false). If you're mature Christian looking for the authentic and the anointing, I would advise looking elsewhere. If you are young in the Lord, it could be a very positive experience for you!

What we found was a church that preached the truth and also accepted us in as part of their family. Both of my kids have been born since we began attending this church and are known by everyone. I never doubt if my kids are safe and loved in the children's programs. Pastor Matt is a man of God who preaches what he feels God calling him to without fear of societal pressure. Grateful they have their sermons online so we can stay connected from afar! They also offer a great amount of life groups. It's a larger church than I have ever been to yet the experience and level of connection to others is up to you. There's no pressure to sign up for anything which is nice. Service is about 75 min with at least 15 min of music. Highly recommend!!

Pastor Greg delivers a wonderful sermon full of truth and encouragement. With love, I only wish the Holy Sacrament of the Eucharist were approached more deeply. It is not just symbolic, but the true Body and Blood of Christ as given in Scripture. The way it is shared feels too casual, and I long for the depth and reverence of this sacred gift. Still, the love of Jesus is present here, and the heart and intent are genuine. I will continue coming back for worship and fellowship, while also attending my other churches where I can fully receive the Body and Blood of Christ. This beautiful church is part of the Westerville tour bus tour from the Field of Heroes exhibit…read more I really surprised myself with how much I didn't know about this city. But, Nathan, our tour guide was friendly, personable, fun, helpful and a font of interesting information regarding some of the places on the National Registry in this area, and historic landmarks all of which I sadly knew nothing about. He was funny, took time to answer questions, and was very patient and supportive of the inquisitive two elementary-aged kids on the bus. Russ, the driver of our small, but very comfortable, AC bus, was also very helpful as he assisted me with my walker to get on, off, and about the different stops along the tour. It was also pretty amazing to see how Russ was able to drive our small tour bus through some of the narrow entrances and exits of different locations like Blendon Central Cemetery off Hempstead Rd. One of the other staff members on the tour bus, Will, went above and beyond to help my wife and me get into the buildings and locations available to us on the tour. Sometimes assisted me with my walker fin an effort to allow me access to some of these beautiful churches, a log cabin and other places that I otherwise would not have been able to see. It was especially fun when we went in to the old, historic landmark of the Central College Presbyterian Church, where we learned the history of this beautiful church with the stained glass windows. There's still time to view the amazingly beautiful and touching display of flags this Memorial Day weekend at the Flag of Heroes commemorative during this weekend. I asked if they could cut back on the 90 proof bourbon because I have been devastated in the past by a drunk driver & Patty told me, "we're no different than a bar!" (That's an exact quote, I kid you not!) It was also very clicky. No one ever even asked for my number or invited me anywhere. They mostly drank amongst themselves a lot & talked about their cell groups or retreats which I was never invited to - almost everyone was drunk so that's probably why.
