Since April 2025 5 stars to 2!! Chicken doesn't look good or taste good now. Looks like new manager and crew. Cashier customer engagement really low. She asked for help. Presumed manager came out. Even lower customer engagement skills. I didn't see not 1 smile. Chicken bland, cooked in over used cooking oil, it's too dark, was not marinated per recipe. Had to add raw salt and still could not make it taste good. So, FAREWELL Church's Chicken! The memory of yesteryear is now all that remains. There is nothing uniquely distinguishable about this new brand at all. It's too bad that they can't revive the original-original recipe and cooking procedures. Ok. Fist off this is a location that I frequent. I have had very bad experiences in the past. Lately it seems if the owners has changed and if so I can definitely tell. The last couple of times I went, there is always workers walking around cleaning and wiping down surfaces. The chicken has been fully stocked and you will not wait a lunch break waiting on your food! The chicken is done and not transparent. I can't say how the restrooms are because the door is locked like someone is always in there. Haha. I like churches due to the taste and price. Just don't go on a Tuesday because they have a $1.99 special and people are stacked in there. I like a 3 piece mixed including a breast, leg, and thigh. I love the spicy sprinkle too. Wish they sold it by the bottle. I know the food isn't good for you but you only live once! This review is for cleveland ave Atl Ga Churches Chicken ......I don't usually take time to write reviews, but this experience needed to be addressed. This was my second visit to this location, and unfortunately, both experiences were disappointing. During my visit, I was served by a woman who appeared to be the manager. Her attitude and overall approach to customer service were completely unprofessional. The moment I began placing my order, her tone, body language, and lack of patience made the interaction uncomfortable. It's as if customers aren't allowed to ask a simple question without being met with frustration or hostility. To make matters worse, the food itself was below standard. The chicken tenders were pale, dry, and had an odd taste almost as if the oil hadn't been changed or the chicken wasn't fresh. I reluctantly brought the food back to request a fresh batch, and instead of understanding or correcting the situation, she gave me a hard time. She even hesitated to replace the BBQ sauce that came with the new order, which made the entire exchange even more unpleasant. What stood out most to me was the energy among the other employees. They seemed respectful, professional, and patient -- yet it was obvious they were forced to work under poor leadership. That's not fair to them or to paying customers who come in expecting basic courtesy and quality. This situation should definitely be looked into. Leadership positions require composure, communication skills, and respect for the customer experience. None of that was demonstrated here. The service is usually great but there's a ghetto girl who was probably serving as the supervisor on duty that night and was no longer taking any orders and it was only 9:10pm Sunday. She has long red hair like Wendy's and was arguing on her phone with a SIDECHICK REFUSING to do her job. Why is it always a 30 minute wait in the drive through at this location. The remodel looks nice but try to hire some extra people to help move this line along. There's no reason any fast food place can't get people in and out within 10 minutes. Maybe if there was a manager working and could keep the employees focused things would move faster. read more

The worst. I mean the absolute worst. First, I can not BELIEVE that this store is IN Atlanta (Cleveland Ave) and they are BASED in Atlanta. It's shameful. 1) The people are INCREDIBLY rude. How rude? I was in a line with 6 cars. Again SIX. It took 20 mins to get to the broken, barely audible speaker in the drive through. 2) When I got to the speaker the guy says through the speaker "WHAT DO YOU WANT?" I said excuse me? He then said, "Your order... please!!" I let that slide and gave him my order which was the roasted chicken. As I was ordering a lady chimes in "You pay extra for sides." I thought this was extremly rude since I had not asked her anything. Then I told her I did not want mash potatoes and she shouted back almost screaming, "IT COMES WITH IT!" 3) Then I said, "You know what I dont have to take this." As I was leaving I literally heard her said "Good. Bye!" This is not the type of service that should be tolerated ANYWHERE but it seems to be pervasive in black communities. I have gone to their restaurants in other areas and the service is NEVER this bad. This store sits between a Chick-Fila and a Popeyes. ANY DAY OF THE WEEK you can drive past and the line is in the street. Is the food that much better? I went to Church's Chicken located at 981 Cleveland Avenue, East Point, GA 30344 on 4/28/21. I attempted to place my order and I was told to come to the window. Upon arriving to the window the employee was there in an opened window and no mask. All the employees did not have on masks. I asked her was it not required for them to have on masks and she stated yes and instructed everyone to put on a mask. She then tried to make excuses for their non-compliance to COVID-19 safety measures. She stated everyone had gone to the back, except one employee, who was on the way out. She then started to tell the employee leaving she had the right one. The two of them got into a physical altercation right in front of me and any other customer(s) that may have been in the store. Because of this altercation her shirt was pulled up exposing her stomach and she pulled it down. The lady from the window and the employee that needed to leave were using loud profanity back and forth with each other. The lady from the window told that employee to get out. The employee left out and then opened the door to usher more profanity at the lady from the window. 'THIS IS BEYOND CRAZY AND VERY, VERY EMBAR- RASSING BECAUSE THIS HAPPENED IN OUR (BLACK) COMMUNITY." We are already addressed as being uncivilized and this type of behavior confirms that. I was totally shocked and frightened by all of this chaos going on. I had given the lady in the window a coupon and another worker had to come over to finish the transaction and discounts were not applied and I had to ask this worker to pull her mask up. The lady from the window yelled at her (employee) and said you see she (me) has a mask on. Wow! Whoever is over this store should be ashamed having conduct of this manner going on. I also called Corporate and reported this incident and they had no concern at all. I was told that Church's Chicken (Cleveland Avenue) management would get with me and provide any compensation for the horrible experience that happened. I know there are a lot more professional Church's Chicken restaurants and they would never allow anything of this magnitude to happen in their store. I know we don't have a lot of choices in East Point, but if a store has this type of reputation, it needs to be shut down or new Management should be placed there and the house needs to be cleaned out. By far the worst service I have ever received. I've tried to give this place plenty of chances but you can only tolerate so much. Not only do they cancel your delivery orders if you decide to go through drive thru you don't even get greeted. The order taker had such A nasty attitude. When I had to repeat asking for sauces I requested I believe his name is jacquan acted as if I was bothering him by asking him to do his job. other Employees were right in front of the window on their phones. Is that why it takes forever to receive your food because them being on their phone is more important than the customers who make sure they get paid. Church's not open for business this morning. Cleaning crew put chemicals in the grease and now it will take 30 minutes or longer for the chicken to fry. The nasty attitude lady said that she could sell me chicken from dirty grease with chemical in it.... she was how rude and loosing a lot of business on this Tuesday. read more
