I witnessed the music of the iconic and venerable Herbie Hancock, who even at an age when most of us are lucky to get out of a chair, is hopping around the stage like the soulster he is. It was great to hear and see. The Salle Pleyel is beautiful, comfortable, with great acoustics, and easy bathrooms. That is all I need. Perfect!

It was also quite clean - if you discount general oldness and the grime that comes with it. The Pool-Hall is also not bad. Lots of windows equal lots of light and the many trees you see in front of the windows are quite nice to look at. Negatives? Piscine Roger Aveneau was build in 1971 and could do with a big renovation. Maintenance wise they seem to be doing a decent job, but after 45 years I think it is time for a big overhaul @ Piscine Roger Aveneau. The Building´s age is showing everywhere. Practical information: There is a Velib Station right in front of the sports complex and a Bus stop near by. There are no lockers but a wardrobe check where you deposit your stuff with an employee and get a rubber-band. Showers and dressing rooms are separated for men and women. The Price at 3,80€ for the single entry is not too expensive.

They have 3 basins, a 25x15 Meters swimmers basin without shallow end and two multipurpose basins for activities and children. Strangely both basins seem to do the same thing, one is just newer than the other and was added recently - my guess is that this reflects as how many of the pools visitors are families with children. They also have a nice area outside that you can use on warmer days. Showers are mixed (though there are two sets of showers), bathing caps are mandatory and surfer-short-type swimwear is forbidden. Lockers work with code. The people working there were all really nice and friendly and it was impeccably clean at Piscine des Blagis despite me being there on a busy weekend. Negatives? I am not a fan of these type of pools where the basin-walls are covered in this sort of concrete layer with a rough surface, I can do without the free pedicure this gives me. The Entrance fee of 5€70 is quite elevated and does not really reflect what is offered.

There are no discount if you are planning on hitting all museums and the zoo in one day. If you add each museum admission cost together, it can get very costly. It is like 10 euro here and 10 euro there - definitely not cool. B and I visited all the museums and zoo under the Muséum National d'Histoire Naturelle. They were all very different than the Picaso museum, Louvre and etc. The museums and the zoo are very education and suitable for all ages. The Muséum National d'Histoire Naturelle was founded during the French Revolution back in the 1700s. The museums are easy to get to by metro or bus.

We thought this was the museum itch that would captivate the kids and our interest (as the kids would not be able to handle a visit to the Louvre). It was only okay. It cost about 40€ for our family of 4 for the two exhibits. We love museums and spend hours visiting them at home but this museum was eh...just okay. It wasn't worth the waste of our time in Paris. Our kids and we would have been much happier revisiting the Luxembourg Gardens again (they have a kids' playground that's a small fee for all day access. The playground is enclosed and has a Tarzan swing, great play features, water fountains, and much more). If we had it to do again, we would not have come to this museum at all. The Galerie de l'Évolution was much better than the Children's exhibit (it was a big dud).

This park is a recent addition to the neighborhood. Apparently they've torn down a few derelict…read morebuildings and decided that the fine people of Fresnes needed a little more space for strolling and hand holding and leafy contemplation. There's not much to it but it's a perfectly delightful place to stretch your legs and peer into the year round creek. And if you've got someone that you like to kiss, the trees on the east side of the park are covered in mistletoe. Smoochie, smoochie!
