i treated my friend to this the other day and they not only got our order wrong two times. when they tried to refund me the $ they charged me instead! I realized this a day later (today) thus my very disappointed review.

For the available options while visiting Montreal in terms if persian restaurants, this was the better choice. Good selections on the menu, but just about the typical you'd find at any other persian restaurant, so nothing special or fancy, but the flavours are certainly there, and the atmosphere can use a little bit of a facelift!

Everything sold by number, Number 40: Soup, Salad, Hummus, 2 sodas, meat and chicken kebabs, rice and fries $44.99 WOW

I found this place through the Yelp app when I visited Canada. We had gone to the museum and wanted to get something to eat walking distance. They serve sheesh kobobs and Mediterranean food, plus the pictures looked nice. We got there and the place looked a little shady from the outside, We almost left, but it was cold, and we were already there so, what the heck? I'm so glad we didn't leave, the food was amazing!! And so cheap, it was such a treat. We ordered a full meal combo that came with soup, salad, rice, fries, rice, humus (fresh!) pita and kebobs. It was amazing. Our server was efficient. He didn't speak English that well, but was able to take our order. Food came fast. Decor was not quite as pretty as it looks in the pictures, but it was clean and cozy. Lighting and angles are everything LOL, but do give this place a try if you're in the area, you won't regret it!

Situated on Guy street, it's a combination of Iraqi, Persian and Lebanese food. It has two floors; the main sitting area is on the second floor, the grills is on the first. I had their lamb kabab. It was decent. Nothing too special. The meat was juicy and well spiced. The rice was good. For the price you pay you get a decent amount. I've had better Persian food to be honest but it was still good. It's a quiet place and pretty cozyThe waiters were nice; the service was fast. Overall it was a nice quiet place; good for after work eat out or just on a lazy day.

Chicken and beef kabab midi special.

Went with a friend for a quick bite. It's at an amazing location, near the metro and Concordia! The actual place is 2 floors. The second floor is beautifully renovated. The main floor is more for pickups with a few tables. We asked if we can sit upstairs but we were told we couldn't. After a few minutes another staff came and asked if we would like to go up; at this point we were settled in so we just stayed downstairs. They're food is great! Never have I been disappointed even during my uni days. They staff very polite, respectful and friendly. The service is great and the price is reasonable. We ordered the midi special; chicken and beef kabab plate. I loved the lentil soup which was served with pita. The meat was well cooked and seasoned served on onions. There was a lot of rice which I couldn't finish. There wasn't enough veggies. I would definitely go back in the future!

Big dishes, very tasty. The basmati rice was very good and the lamb was super tender. The lentil soup was awesome.

We stopped by for a quick bite and ordered their Lentil Soup with Pita and a Special which had Chicken & Beef Kebab with Rice. We also ordered some Hummus on the side. The location is great, but the restaurant is very basic. It's good for a quick bite or take away. However the service made up for the basic space as they are friendly, quick and very accommodating. Food is surprisingly excellent especially the Kebabs!! And inexpensive. Will definitely drop by again, when in the area next time!

So much variety! Love the family sized platters, huge portions!

Chateau kabab is our fav middle eastern restaurant, be it the downtown or west island location we are always satisfied. The variety (heavy or light plates) is definately there, the owners are very humble and grateful, they always go an extra mile to satisfy all your needs. Iranian and lebanese food under one roof makes it the best place for taking friends and family out for a dinner - we are positive that everybody will find a meal to their satisfaction! The complimentary tea is always fresh and tasty and keeps the conversation going on the table :) Highly highly recommend!!

Chicken and beef combo!

Very good food all the time. My favorite spot in Montreal for affordable good food. The shawarma chicken bowl is my favorite.

We came to Kahari Point for a friend's birthday party. The spouse of our friend had made…read morereservations over a week in advance, but the restaurant had no record of it, but since the dining room was empty, they were able to accommodate the ten of us. After some time with the menu, and pitchers of water having been delivered to the table, the server came to take our orders, food and drinks together. The appetizers were delivered before most of the drinks, with one guest not receiving their appetizer until the mains were being delivered. The server had a bit of a hard time remembering who had what, but with some direction, everything was delivered eventually. The food was nice. We had the Lahori fried fish, nicely spiced, fish cooked really well. My partner and I shared the Combo 2 with white meat chicken kahari, beef kebab, and garlic naan. The chicken was cooked very well. The curry paste was tasty. The kahari was served in a large metal bowl, very nice touch. I really enjoyed the kebab as well. The naan was factory made, not fresh. That was a bit disappointing. My fraise rose was delicious. My partner had a mango lassi and said it was acceptable but a bit too thick. The meal had a good spice level throughout. The portions are generous and very filling. Good value for money, however the menu does not make it clear that most dishes seem to be intended for sharing. At the end of the meal, it took some time for dessert to come out (included with the meal), and it seems only some people were asked if they wanted tea or coffee, our side of the table was not. Towards the end, the server simply stood at the other end of the table and asked, generally, if anyone wants anything else. The service might have been better on a busier day, but at 1pm on a Sunday, it was lacking a bit, and we felt a little bit like an inconvenience, even though we were the only people there. We would go back, just maybe for an evening date.

We ordered three appetizers, naan, and one main course. The items came out quickly and hot, and the waitstaff checked with us when each item came out to make sure we liked it. I'd never had the French Canadian heart-attack-on-a-plate, and was a little nervous as it just looks like it has A LOT going on. I sludged into La Banquise dead sober at 4:11am, as this is a legendary spot that is open 24 hours. I sat down in a bustling no frills atmosphere and remembered my deep appreciation for a 24-hour diner. You see people for who they really are this early in the morning. A couple in front of me was in a heated argument about what "being exclusive" really meant, while two separate groups of 4 to my right were feeling no pain and enjoying a poutine night cap. There I was, sipping on my black coffee mentally prepping myself for the 45 mile (72 km) day I had in front of me. The dichotomy of life. I asked the server what the most popular item was, and he said La Scooby. This monstrosity consisted of fresh cut fries, cheese, gravy, ground beef, bacon, onions, fried pickles, and caesar dressing garlic sauce. I got the small ($12.40 usd), but this thing was a TANK. It was bigger than my head and I have a HUGE head. The large must be a family style portion or somethin. Upon first bite, it was damn good. I completely see the poutine appeal. Is it an ideal meal dead sober at 4:11am? No, absolutely not, but this is an S-tier hangover food. Also, if there is ever a day when I need some extra calories, it's on a 100k step day. All the staff was so welcoming, and surprisingly chipper this early in the morning. SHOUTOUT TO LA BANQUISE! THANK YOU FOR FUELING THE JOURNEY! IG @johnny.novo Tiktok @jnov__ Substack @johnnynovo

Not accessible. I had a very hard time moving around the restaurant with my crutches, especially…read morewith the stairs. I took my niece from New York City here because La Banquise is supposed to be the "must try" poutine spot in Montreal. We had a great night overall: soccer game, drinks at Mellon Brasserie (none of us were drunk; my wife was 100% sober). Everything was fun and chill. But La Banquise completely ruined the end of that trip, and I'm not okay with letting this go. We paid for the food and service. But it doesn't matter if you pay $1 or $100: at the end of the day, we were customers, and we deserved to be treated with respect. We waited for our Uber outside. It was cold, and I'm on crutches, so my injuries hurt badly in the cold. After waiting outside for a long time with the Uber not showing up, we went back inside to wait near the door, in the corner, not blocking anyone. The staff at the door immediately came in and started rudely and aggressively kicking us out. He refused to speak English with me after I clearly said, "I don't speak French, so talk to me in English." He kept talking French and was rude to my wife, my niece, and me. He told the waitress in French that we were "blocking the way," which was 100% false. (My wife speaks French) We were just standing near the entrance, waiting for a few minutes, trying to get out of the cold. When I went to the cashier and explained, "This guy is kicking me out. I just paid for my meal. But it doesn't matter if you pay $1 or $100: you're still a customer, and you shouldn't be kicked out and treated like trash just because you're waiting for your Uber on crutches. I'm on crutches, it's cold, and my Uber isn't here yet," they called a waitress who also started telling us to leave instead of helping. She didn't try to find a solution; she just said, "No, no, leave, leave." This is not just bad service. This is disgusting, disrespectful treatment of a paying customer with a mobility issue. My niece, who had a blast all night, ended the trip saying, "What the f....? You bring me here and they treat us like this?" She now has a bad impression of Montreal because of this place. My niece is from New York City, and she's also posting her own review. That review will be seen by people in New York and by tourists looking for recommendations. If you treat tourists like this, you're not just ruining one night, you're ruining the image of the whole city. Montreal is supposed to be a welcoming city for tourists and people looking to have fun and be treated with respect. La Banquise failed that completely. The food was okay, but the experience was terrible because of how we were treated. This is unacceptable. You should be ashamed of how you handled this.

As I walked in this place, I was served by very friendly staff who promptly took my order. The service that night however was slow because they had to make the fries just for us. The wait for it was well worth though. I took "Le Farci" which is a burger with the beef patty stuffed with cheese; something that I've never tasted before. This patty topped with a great sauce and the crisp yet soft in the middle bun made it into a perfect burger. I also took a side of poutine, which was great as well. The fries were fresh and crispy, with just the right amount of sauce to melt that cheese. This place is definitely worth the trip if you are craving not only for a burger, but for good food!

I went with her to this awful restaurant "MAMA KHAN". We were visiting Montreal. Originally we are from Boston, MA USA. First and foremost, I'm not sure it is a Pakistani restaurant or it it is run by Afghani people. The first order was Samosa. It was burnt outside cooked in high heat, so when we opened it one layer of Maida was raw inside. The potato inside was black and had a weird taste. We were hungry so we hate the outside part of the Dough, although burnt. Second order was lassi- it smelled something awful. I drank one gulp and didn't touch it again. The third order was chicken haleem but it appeared to me the chef forgot to put the chicken- it tasted like dal and wheat. Although it was not that bad. I ate it as if I'm eating dal. The third order was lamb charsi Karahi. I could not eat even one piece. It was not cooked at all. I packed the lamb as by now I had lost faith and didn't want to leave the entire untouched dish. I thought these guys may serve my left on table dish to someone else. We took the left over food and put it in a trash. The Nan was not bad except one fourth of the naan was not properly cooked, so we discarded that portion and ate the rest of the naan with the "DAL HALEEM" Service- the kid was from Afghanistan and was decent. He was polite.
