You need to know where you're going in case you have a tight layover and need to run for your life to the gate where your connecting flight departs. But interior-wise and food-wise, the airport has a tremendous amount of options in a visually aesthetically pleasing environment. If you are flying out of Houston at George Bush or connecting with a flight that is taking you either west or east, you could do a lot worse than George Bush Airport. There are plenty of options to camp until your next flight. Just make sure you know where you're going so you don't fall into a trap and miss your flight. Fortunately, that hasn't happened to us, but it could if you're not careful. Word.

The older woman working the baggage service desk was less than helpful and unnecessarily confrontational. When I asked for assistance regarding my checked bag after changing to an earlier flight, she told me it was "my job to know the baggage rules" and that she didn't want to help because she didn't want to risk getting fired. She stated, "United is looking for ways to fire the older people," which was both unprofessional and concerning. I'm just needing help with my families bags. She continued on and on how I should know the fine print before switching the flights and there's nothing she can do, which seemed like a cop out for being lazy. Earlier, United gate agents in SLC had asked for volunteers to move to an earlier flight due to delays out of Salt Lake City. We were told our bags would make the flight and, if not, they would be delivered. Based on that information, we agreed to switch flights. At baggage claim, instead of helping resolve the situation, she criticized how I keep my claim tickets stickers stuck on the back of my passport wallet. I store them on the back of my passport wallet (not on my passport itself), and I had to show her this after she questioned me about it saying it wasn't allowed on the passport. Why this was even a conversation I'm not sure, but I'm a seasoned traveler. I ultimately called customer service myself, and within 10 minutes they arranged luggage delivery without issue. United, if customer service is truly a priority, this is not the standard that should represent your baggage service team. Makes me want to cancel both our credit cards and fly a different airline.

Arriving from Cali into Bush airport terminal E was a smooth and quick experience, especially since…read moreI only had a carry-on with no check bags. once we landed , the walk through exit door were automatic and easy to navigate, leading directly towards the arid al pickup area and bus shuttle connections. Everything seem straightforward, and I didn't have to deal with baggage claim delays, which made getting out much faster. The signage was clear enough to follow without confusion, and the flow from the gate to ground transportation was pretty effcient even with other passengers arriving at the same time. Overall a simple and easy arrival back into Houston through terminal E. I would love to get this terminal each time I arrive home. Could be because we had a light passage haul even though we were on a larger craft.

A layover brought us back here and it was quiet and not crowded for a Saturday, early evening. As far as US airports go, this was a nice change and a pleasure to fly through. Connecting international flights take extra time to go through passport control, immigration, and recheck bags. Allow extra time for connecting flights. Only downside, hence a deduction of a point is somehow my neck pillow was either stolen or thrown away after going through the security machine. Although there are cameras everywhere, they couldn't find it. All in a matter of minutes. At least all my important items were still there.

I was here a month ago and wires and AC ducts were hanging out of the ceiling. Since, it is like a heck of an upgraded remodel! Terminal D has always been the worst and I guess they took that into consideration for this upgrade to a proper international terminal. It is not finished and they are still working on the proper international gates. Terminal D went from worse to first or close to C1 - C15, the current best. I spoke to the United agent and she said this has only been "finished" for about a week. I didn't deduct three points for the ongoing parking and train mess out front. Please note it continues to be a huge mess and the airport authority has no clue. This isn't being managed well. IAH has more land than almost any other airport. Why don't they use it an establish a train to get to terminals. This is silliness.

Also, Terminal D departure signage can be a more prominent. It's very easy to miss. However, the art work is beautiful and makes for a scenic walk from gate to gate. The skytrain here is much more up to date than the subway, which feels like creeping doom and gloom, but it beats walking uphill 23 min from Terminal D/E to Terminal A.

This time around, though, it didn't stink (literally) and there were an adequate number of seats for travelers. Not my fave terminal at IAH, but it will do.

I removed the belt, pulled my pants up high and needed to be scanned again. I needed a pat down. Of course, nothing was found. In Minneapolis, you just walk through, even with a belt on. Then I had some seasoning rub sealed in my carry on. These TSA agents I thought were going to confiscate it. They opened it and tested it. Of course, it was negative for drugs. I was traveling with my 87 year old father and autistic son. We asked for a ride on one of those golf cart type things, and they said maybe and then yes and they'll be right back. When the cart came back, the driver would not let us on even though a friend of theirs hopped on. There is a transport cart every 50 yards in this place but there are no drivers and the drivers they have are rude. It's really sad, because the airport has a beautiful interior design. This airport an almost certainly not ADA-compliant.
