Its one of the most beautiful and romantic wineries in Los Angeles, gorgeous view and a very cute barn. The charcuterie board is made well, and the food is also good, their pizzas are usually on point. The only reason I'm giving them 4 stars, is their high cost for very low quality wines, and the way they serve the wine.
Came here for a wedding, and honestly, wow. It was a bit of a drive for us to get out to Malibu, but the second you step onto the property, you feel like you've been transported to a completely different world. The landscaping, the lush plants, and the rolling vineyard scenery are just stunning. The layout for the wedding ceremony was perfect as everything was set up overlooking the Malibu canyon and the grapevines. We caught the sunset during the reception, and it was pure magic. Service was outstanding from start to finish. Valet parking was smooth and efficient, and the bar was fully stocked with bartenders who actually kept the line moving fast. The sound system was great too (no awkward mic feedback or muffled music), and once the sun went down and the temperature dropped, they had fire pits going to keep everyone warm and cozy. Such a beautiful, well-run hidden place. If you get invited to an event here, absolutely go!
What a wonderful experience, everything was just perfect, weather was perfect, service was top notch, not that crowded on a Saturday. Wines were excellent and the food tasted amazing with the perfect view! Valet available so parking is not to worry about. Prices were definitely reasonable. Definitely a place to spend your day at and day drink with some delicious food. Highly recommended!!
Attended a bachelorette party here and had such a nice time. It's a beautiful place with gorgeous views of the Malibu hills and other vineyards. Our group tried a lot of wines, but my favorite was the rosé. So refreshing. The sangria was also a hit. We ordered a couple charcuterie boards and pizzas, too. The former was really good and had a nice selection of finger foods. The pizza I would give maybe 3.5 stars out of 5. Flavor was pretty good but it was doughy and a bit flimsy. We had the Margherita and one with pepperoni and jalapeños. Loved the live music and the fact they had waiters and a little bar just for ordering wine. I will say the service was a bit sporadic but it was packed when we got there and we had a big group. The main reasons I took off a star though was because parking was annoying af and cost $25. There was also only one bathroom and it was in one of those trailer type ones you see at events and movie sets. There was always a long line whenever you had to go. I'd still go back for a special occasion, but it's definitely an expensive experience.
First off the views are spectacular. There is a breath of fresh air when being this high up in Malibu. Parking is valet, $20. I don't think you can self park but we didn't really ask. Wine was decent but a bit on the pricier side. I think you are also paying for the pictures/views. The flight pictured cost $55 and I got a glass of the white sangria for $30. In total for a flight and a glass of sangria it was around $93. So be prepared to drop some $ when coming here unless wine isn't your vibe. Service was okay. I will add I am biased as I live in Sonoma County and I think our local wineries have excellent service. When you make a reservation in Sonoma County there is a server assigned to you and they constantly pour your wine and give you water. The service here was different. I will say it was packed and I personally don't know if it was just an off day. But we had a reservation and we never were checked on. We had to ask a worker and go inside the building to ask how service here works. Which was a different experience to say the least. We only got water when we asked for it after getting our wine, and I did notice others immediately got water the moment they sat. And no the others were not wine members. Which I thought was interesting but like I said maybe they had a busy day. Overall, the views were great. The burger was delicious. The wine was pretty good but pricey. But service could definitely be better. Maybe a QR code might help the confusion regarding how the service works here. Overall cool spot to try.
Had a great time at Cielo Winery! Zach and Tre were awesome super friendly, attentive, and made the whole experience even better. The views were beautiful, the wine was great, and the customer service was top-notch. We'll definitely be back!
This place seems more enjoyable if you're a member, which I guess makes sense. But if you're not a member, it could be worth a one-time visit because of the views. All of the good seats overlooking the hills are always reserved by members, even if they are not there yet. It seems they have a system allowing members to reserve tables whenever however long they want without even showing up, so that was a little disappointing as it's not a cheap place of course. The wine selection was fine, though not many options for a winery. They had two food truck-type options for food. Wagyu burgers and pizza, so not your typical options for a winery. Overall we probably won't go back but if you want to go for the Instagram pic, I get it!
Cielo Farms has beautiful scenery! We had a picnic and wine tasting on the terrace, where we spent 3 hours eating food and tasting five types of wine at a gorgeous winery in Malibu! There was live music, and you sat outside under canopies, so you didn't have to worry about the sun shining straight down on you. Besides the $99/per person tickets for this event, you can also buy a picnic basket with cheese, sandwiches, etc., for $99. However, if you decide not to purchase the basket beforehand, you can bring any food you want and non-alcoholic drinks. The organizers also provided bottles of water. Also, your ticket includes parking for free. Gorgeous is the perfect word to describe the scenery. The wine was fantastic! The music was beautifully played. The sandwiches I brought were tasty. And the company (winks into the mirror) was breathtaking! This is a must-do experience! This is also perfect for small groups or for a romantic date-day experience!
While the views are stunning, every other element is lack luster. First off, they charge you a $35 dollar fee for admission. What a joke! Just to be clear, there is NOT a tasting room. So $35 just to be there. LOL. You can order a $50 dollar tasting "flight" or a bottle of wine between $88-$104 dollars. Yep, for a no name wine brand you never heard of. Hungry? You can order a $60 charcuterie board. LOL. Do yourself a favor, skip this place. TOTAL RIP OFF. Visit a real winery with real tasting room.
Unfortunately, the staff experience significantly detracted from what could have been a beautiful visit. We arrived on a day of heavy rain without a prior reservation and were told we could not enter without one. We immediately made a reservation and were allowed in, as we were the only guests there, however, the interaction felt unfriendly from the very beginning. After making the reservation, we attempted to access the gate but no one answered the phone. Eventually, an employee came from behind and entered the gate code for us. When we parked and walked toward the entrance in the pouring rain, staff were leaving in a golf cart and did not pause or make space for guests trying to get inside out of the rain, which felt discourteous. Once we reached the entrance, there was no greeting, no welcome, and no assistance. We even struggled to identify the proper entrance, and still no one offered help. The bar staff were kind and helpful, but overall the operation felt disorganized and lacking hospitality. In today's hospitality landscape, the experience matters from start to finish. As a business owner in Los Angeles myself, I genuinely hope management takes the time to read and reflect on recurring feedback. This is an incredible, beautiful property with so much potential but luxury is defined by service, attentiveness, and how guests are treated from the moment they arrive. This could be an amazing place, but based on this experience, it is not one I would return to. Wine was okay. Views amazing but anywhere in Malibu is beautiful in my opinion..
So I'm a wine chick all day and I try wineries all the time....BUT this was my worse wine experience so far. The place very pretty on the outside but not ALL that. I was not impressed at all nor those who were in my party. I did not like that the couches and linen were filthy! Felt it was not clean and should have been dusted before opening. Also, I dislike how they never answer their phone , but right after someone sends a text. I think that is very weird and unprofessional. Another con I do not like here is that the prices are quite expensive. $60 for flight of wine can go far elsewhere I'm sure. They need to be more do diverse and play other types of music to accommodate all guests. They have a cute area to take pics, so that what's made it cute . It was my birthday celebration and we left because it was not a good experience. Overall, I will not come back but I'm happy I tried it out! There is only valet parking too! -Marshay D.
Came here for the first time . This is a very relaxing and beautiful location . Very fun to bring your friends and just gossip while sipping wine or even your partner to enjoy the beautiful views of the mountains and each other (: . The pizza was so yummy too!! I will definitely be back here again

Cielo Farms is hands down the gem of Malibu venues!! As a wedding planner, I've coordinated hundreds of events throughout the years and Cielo Farms is always a stand out location for us. From the stunning serene mountain views, incredibly friendly staff and perfectly curated grounds- you feel as though you are stepping into a Tuscan dream every time! Had an amazing time here with my team. Definitely coordinate your private event with the property manager, Andrew. There was a wedding happening the day we came, so certain parts of the property were restricted. NO PROBLEMO! Andrew set my team (20) up in a private secluded region of the estate. My team was taken back by the breathtaking views. Please look at the photos I'm posting, and they will sell the experience better than my words of wisdom. read more

Fantastic wine, gorgeous views, and one hell of a wood fired pizza. Be prepared to pay for some pricey sips of yummy wine and $24 for a small pizza. They were all amazing though! And the prices are 100% worth the views. Must make reservations and they are confirmed at the gate. Enjoy! read more

I went here with my girlfriend during the day , and it was such a vibe . Very green and beautiful. Also very peaceful at the top , it gives chill hangout vibes. We enjoyed some nice wine and had some amazing pizza. The margherita was my favorite pizza. read more

Came here for wine tastings and had a great time. We purchased a bottle and ordered two pizzas and couldn't ask for anything more. The pizza was so yummy as well as the wine. The views are obviously beautiful and appreciated their covid screenings before entering. The grounds were clean and the staff was very friendly. I definitely recommend this hidden spot in the valley and can't wait to to return for a sunset tasting. Notes for visitors: you can only purchase a bottle or glass during covid (no tastings but they will let you sample the wine you're thinking of purchasing for your seating) and have to make reservations in advance. read more

Came here for a wedding venue tour. We worked with Rob to get it scheduled and he was awesome! Super nice, flexible and understanding. The venue itself was beautiful! The views are stunning and I think that's why it's so popular. However, the road below can be loud if there's a motorcycle or loud muffler going by which is something we didn't want to risk during our ceremony. The bridal suite is a loft so it's pretty small. The barn itself is beautiful and a little bit on the smaller side. Trees, turf and fire pits fill up the area. There are string lights above and lights on each tree. Aside from weddings, they offer wine tastings on a regular day which I would love to come try, but the tasting is pretty pricy. The venue is easy to find and has parking at the top of the driveway. I will be coming here for wine tasting and a friend's wedding in a few months. We didn't decide to have our wedding here for various reasons but it was a close second! read more

After a covid postponement, Cielo Farms was our fairytale dream come true wedding venue. We fell in love with the magical landscape, greenery, and breathtaking views when we decided to get married here in October 2021. We worked most closely with Jamie, the Event Coordinator, Stephanie, and Rob (from Tres LA), who were all amazing professionals. Cielo Farms requires you to work with their catering group Tres LA and rental group Premiere. We were delighted to find out that both required vendors were the best of the best and extremely top quality. We loved how easy Cielo Farms made our planning process - they were consistent in communications, answered all of our questions in a timely manner, and were flexible to accommodate our requests. I couldn't be more happy that we got married here and will cherish the memories forever. Thank you Jamie, Stephanie, and Rob!! read more

Cielo is hands down the most stunning property in Malibu. We had our wedding there in October 2019 and it was beautiful and perfect in every way. The staff at cielo(Stephanie and Jade in particular) are so helpful, sweet, and incredibly good at their jobs. The wine was great and our guests were in heaven with good food(TresLA) and a beautiful sunset. I would do it all over again a million times! read more

We are writing this review one week after having the most perfect dream wedding we could have imagined -- and it rained on our wedding day!! Rob and Stephanie are absolutely fantastic. Cielo farms, as you can see from the other reviews, is just the most magical place for an event and has a perfect layout. For our wedding, we set up a red carpet arrival that went perfectly on the driveway to the barn. My now-husband and I were one of the unlucky couples who had to have a difficult conversation about rain on our wedding day (at this completely outdoor venue) -- and I can truly say that Cielo Farms handled the situation SO well. Rob and Stephanie personally made sure that all of our vendors were well taken care of given the weather. We ultimately decided to clear-tent the dancefloor and dining area. We fortunately were able to leave the ceremony and entrance un-tented. It looked STUNNING - and many people mentioned over dinner that they were warmer with the tents! TresLA (which is also Rob's company) did a fantastic job with the meals, everyone is STILL raving about the food and the venue. You will undoubtedly have a once-in-a-lifetime experience having your event here. Just a few things to note before booking: - Cielo offers an amazing wine tasting for the couple as a part of the booking. Absolutely take advantage of it for a date night! - We highly recommend Danielle at Orange Blossom Special Events if you're seeking a coordinator/planner that has a ton of Cielo experience. - Only book this venue if you are personally, financially, and mentally comfortable renting additional products if rain or a heatwave occur (tents, covers, misting, fans, etc.). This is just something to keep in mind and leave room in your budget for when booking this venue, to avoid stress if you have to make this decision last minute ahead of your big day. Similarly, leave room in your budget for shuttles for your guests, as it's very difficult to get Ubers in this area. - There is only a very small bridal "getting ready" area that is visible to people inside the barn -- it is not a fully private building/area. It's not really big enough or conducive for a bridal party getting ready area, but is STUNNING in photos. So we rented the Waterfall Suite at the Four Seasons and got ready there, then headed to the venue after for pictures. I was concerned about getting ready elsewhere, but honestly, I actually ended up preferring this, because arriving fully ready to see the venue nearly-done was just such an amazing reveal. Also, we were able to get ready away from the chaos of the event being built. Never going to forget this day. Thank you so much Rob and Stephanie!! read more

$846.83 Scam ! Run away while you can. They enrolled me in a so called wine club and I paid original payment of $150 and when I tried to cancel my membership, they charged me another $376 and this is on the top of what I had already paid for everything $470.48 already. You can see the picture of the charge. When I tried to call them. on the phone to simply understand and inquire very politely about the bogus charges the owner/manager, Robert Hirsh, was extremely rude and he hung up on me. I simply asked I wish to return the unused and unopened goods and he replied you can't return them. Further he said we are going to charge you more for what you already paid for. They up charged each bottle of wine $100 because I wanted to cancel my membership and they don't want to take them back and they are not even capable of having a civilized conversation on the phone when I called, they hung up! This is absurd, ridiculous and plain old scam. You can see the pictures of the bill, for 2 pizzas and a small cheese board and a bottle of prosecco which is about $12, they had already charged me $470.48. So they decided it was not enough and they made up bunch of other bogus charges and they felt compelled to charge me another $376.35 which is a total of $846.83 and they refuse to even discuss it on the phone and they hang up. This is the text book definition of scam. For 2 mediocre pizzas, a cheese board and a bottle of $12 prosecco! You would expect at least they would have a good service, but you are wrong. You have to go to the counter and order the food like cafeterias. There are many hidden gems in Los Angeles. This is not one of them. This is a simple and plain scam, charging close to a $1000 for a couple of pizzas. Needless to say I will be disputing the fraudulent charges. Hopefully this review saves some people who are just trying to have a simple bite and a glass of wine and they end up getting scammed and taken advantage of. Stay away !!! Run Run Run ... read more

We had the most beautiful wedding reception at Cielo. Cielo's staff and vendor recommendations made it easy for us to plan our wedding from out of state, too. We ended up visiting 3 times over the span of 2 years to plan our wedding. The first time was to scout the property as a potential wedding reception, the second was to do a walkthrough + evaluate hotel blocks that were close in proximity, and the last was for food + wine tasting, PPR rental selections, and floral mock-up. Cielo made it easy for us each time we visited and I'm so glad that they had pre-approved and required vendors such as PPR and Tres LA. My perception is that they want to continue to be one of the best outdoor venues in Malibu/LA-area so they partner with some of the best vendors for an all-around great experience for the couple planning the wedding as well as their guests. All of our guests were blown away! Thank you Cielo and the Hirsh Family! We already can't wait to come back. read more

I planned a surprise proposal and engagement party at Cielo Farms - working months in advance to book and coordinate with the staff there (Jamie and Hannah in particular). They were responsive and attentive to all my questions and needs and ensured everything went off without an issue the day of. They even helped me think through ways to throw my then girlfriend (now fiancée) off on the day of to surprise her! The property is stunning and the service was great. I could not recommend them any more highly! Thank you to Cielo Farms for helping me bring this dream for my fiancée and me come true! read more

My husband and I recently got married at Cielo Farms. After searching venues all across Southern California, we stumbled across this gem and instantly knew this would be where we got married. There is really no other place like Cielo, with the tuscan barn tucked away in the beautiful Santa Monica Mountains. Even after the Woolsey fire, the are bounced back within months and the hills look like Ireland! Our out of town guests were amazed by the beauty of the location. The only downside to the venue is that it not handicap accessible. read more
