This is little-known short trail that leads to a great big rocky outcrop with steep drop-offs and…read moresweeping views of Castaic Wilderness in the Angeles National Forest. The trail is 1 mile (there-and-back). The trailhead is located up the road and north of Castaic Lake, off of Lake Hughes Rd. Park in the dirt off the the side of the road. You'll see a narrow trail that follows the edge of the mountain. There are sections that are slightly overgrown. I walked slowly watching carefully for snakes. You'll see all kinds of wildflowers if you go in the spring. The recent rains has turned the vegetation green. There was long grass flowing in the wind. Once you reach the large rock outcrop you'll get to examine a number of small openings in the rock, peak into small caves and climb through a large slit in the middle of the rock formation. There's a real dangerous cliff-section where you need to use some caution and not let kids play unsupervised. Overall it's a fun trail with lots to see and explore. It's a nice teaser that will make you want to explore other trails in the area.

We were able to locate the showers on the aquatic center and it felt wonderful , being on the boat all day We actually had a blast getting clean for our drive home. What really impressed my family and I was Casta Lake had lifeguards on the water that frequently checked on us being available.

This famous old bridge is the highlight of the trail where part of the movie The Lost Boys (1987) was filmed. When we arrived at the parking lot it was empty around 100pm then it was busy when we arrived back from our ride. The route was nice and easy with some great views.

This is very close to Magic Mountain in Valencia. The scene where they all take Michael to the bridge and all jump off the side. When Michael looks over the edge, he sees they are all hanging. Michael joins them hanging under the bridge and they all hang as the train goes by above the bridge and shakes them all loose and they fall. Michael eventually falls and lands in his bed. First time he realizes he is now a vampire! Great scene, great movie. This are is great for hiking, biking and just connecting with nature in general. Although the bridge today does not have trains rolling over it, only bikes and walkers. Not sure it ever did at least when the movie was made. But that is what makes movies great! Enjoy!

The trail is paved, mostly flat, shaded and with easy access to other paths. We take a break when we reach Bridgeport Park to admire the views of the water and landscape. The walk along the water is the best part before exiting the area. The total distance for our path is 3.5 miles. The signs are bit confusing but become familiar over time. Overall, other people on the trail are respectful of each other, except for the kids on e-bikes that speed past us is groups. Unfortunately, this has become exceedingly more common.

Then the brush fire happened and got relocated to Hungry Valley. Understandable . Both times that they relocated us , Kelly was very accommodating and communicative through text. She made sure that we keep the same day , same time slot no matter what or offer a full refund. When we got to the location in the day of , Silvia and girl (I forgot her name ) who checked us in were very helpful and nice and wanted to make sure we were prepared . During these COVID times , they took our temperature , made sure we sanitized our hands , and put a sanitary head and mouth covering on before putting the sanitized helmet on . We got there an hour early because we had to commute from an hour away and wanted to be on time . They let us ride early as soon as we got there and Sylvia was a fantastic guide . She took amazing pictures of us and made sure we were okay throughout the ride The trail was beautiful and the scenery was captivating . The parking lot is small, and you really can't see what's behind the headquarters building. All I could see were tennis courts. ‍ I'm SO glad I eventually got out of the car and explored because this place is MASSIVE! There are quite a few different directions you can go. The main area, where the playground is located, has a beautiful circular walking path surrounded by lush green grass and trees. Since I was there in the early evening, there were quite a few shady spots along the way. But if you continue walking toward the back...WOW! It opens up into what feels like a vast desert landscape, with several different paths to explore. One of them even has a pretty steep hill! This area also serves as the backdrop to some absolutely beautiful homes. And the best part? It was SO quiet, peaceful and serene. Just the rain, the trees and the sound of nature. I came looking for a place to walk and accidentally found a little hidden gem. Definitely adding Summit Park to my list of places to return to!

Lorenzo guided us on a fantastic fishing trip to Lake Pyramid. We were a dad, 9-year old son, and…read more7-year old daughter. They are deskbound STEM and musical instruments type kids. They don't get out enough. This was their first fishing trip. I didn't know what to expect. I thought I'd be hearing (1 hour into the trip), "Dad, I'm bored. When are we going home? Can we get off the boat?" Nope, they loved it. Lorenzo has a customized fishing boat with a top-of-the-line engine in back; a smaller engine in front (to slowly trawl the waters while fishing); a state-of-the-art fishfinder; and all the rods, hooks, and live bait (worms) that we needed. He did all the work. He taught my kids how to fish; hooked the bait; and untangled all the tangles. We caught large catfish; two smaller fish; and one humungous 6.5 lb. large-mouthed striped bass. That's right--we caught dinner. As a bonus, Lorenzo even cleaned the fish for us afterward. We'll be coming back.
