Its a great place to see a movie... if you are in auditorium #2 or #3. We had tickets to see Gladiator II in Auditorium #1, which was uncomfortable and provided poor angles to the screen. The chairs were not comfortable. The screen angle made you crane your neck. It seemed more like a party room than a theater. We asked for a refund. We will come back but only if the movie is in the other theaters.... read more

This venue is a scam. Over priced, over sold tickets in the town of posh Tiburon. I paid for a confortable seat and was given a metal chairs to sit on. Only in a poor small town in the middle of a dusty town in a poor area one may see metal chairs or at a park in the middle of summer. The concept does not make any sense. About 4 small very uncomfortable metal bar stools in the back and some seats up front not fit to see the screen. In between a couch and some cushion seats. In addition, there were a few seats almost touching the wall of the screen above. The owner are either clueless or believe people are idiots. For 12 dollars my group and I can rent the same movie at home and have outstanding accommodations, and a great screen. The theater may be disable accesible, but the screening room is not. The personnel was rude and insensitive. Never again. read more

We've really fallen in love with this theatre. Good movies, great snacks, very comfy seating, and really clever pre-feature offerings. ALSO - Best. Churros. Ever. A lot of thought and fun whimsey have been put into this place. It kinda feels like going to a screening room your best friend's cool older brother set up. Good movie or bad movie, it's always a fun hang at the CineLounge. We're happy to make the drive into (Beautiful Downtown) Tiburon to support this very clever and very unique independent Movie House. We caught a mid-afternoon Sunday showing of Spider-Man Across the Spiderverse, and we had a great time! Since it was the second weekend of release, the movie was playing in one of the smaller rooms (the "Lagoon Room") which had some really comfy seating options like swiveling chairs, beanbags and a couch. My entire family of 5 (2 adults, 1 teen, 2 kids) probably could have fit in the couch, but we also reserved an extra seat just in case. Turned out to be a great investment since the kids couldn't sit still through the entire movie, switching between the couch, swivel chair and footrest. It's a great space for kids. While the theater and lobby atmosphere and decor were awesome, and the staff was kind and helpful, I had to knock a star off for a couple things: 1) The movie paused from 1-5 seconds about 10 different times throughout the movie. After the 6th or 7th time, I alerted the staff, but the problem happened a few more times. We went to Cinelounge because it looked fun, comfy and different, but 80% of our reason for going to the theater is still to see and hear a movie. They gotta nail that down first and foremost. 2) Minor gripe: The popcorn in the popcorn maker didn't seem very fresh. Maybe we got a batch that's been sitting in the popper for some time. We were digging the themed packaged popcorn though. Hopefully they will improve these issues the next time we go. read more

Cinelounge is a standout theatre! Hard to compare it to anything else. The new remodel gives fresh, modern nostalgia to any cinema experience. From cozy sofas and roomy arm chairs, pillows, a blanket here and there, a delicious menu that can be delivered to your seat and the picture perfect mementos on display - you are SURE to remember your visit here! Is it a bit pricier than a general movie theatre, sure. It can be, but if you don't indulge in the menu then it actually seems on par with other regular prices tix elsewhere if you ask me. read more

A charming, cheerful, irreverent place. We popped in a few weeks ago because something about it drew us in. One of the owners, Christian, was sitting in the lobby and made us feel at home. We came back a few weeks later to see 'Dumb Money'. The place has great food (Australian meat pies!), friendly staff, and a genuinely funny (not "oh god they're trying to be funny") approach to everything from decor to the commercials they run before the previews. In the window on the way out: a homemade flyer with a photograph of a chronically obese turtle, and a request from its owner that the local residents who keep feeding it burgers please immediately cease and desist. That someone expended the activation energy of finding that funny, printing it out, and putting it in the window is all you need to know about this place: if you don't "get it" it'll just seem like any other cinema to you. If you do, you'll feel like the people in charge are curating an experience specifically for people like you. And that's absolutely lovely. read more

Had an extremely unpleasant interaction. 2 days prior to the showing I had purchased tickets for, I received an email saying the showtime was moved up 1.5 hrs ahead. I already had plans earlier in the day so I couldn't make the new time. I wasn't too surprised by the time adjustment given it's a family-run business so this was somewhat understandable. The email did not offer online refunds so I had to go in person to get a refund. But that was fine, so I get there and the person working was pleasant enough at first when I approached. But once I brought up the situation and I would like a refund, his demeanor changed and as he was handing me the cash, I said thank you and all he did was look at me, no words. No "you're welcome", no apology for the time change, he just literally stared at me -- even if he's not going to apologize for the time change because of innerworkings of running a business that are out of his control, that was fine and I didn't need an apology at that point, but I just received literally no acknowledgement or words. I was polite when I was talking to him, so I can't see why he became cold and mute. The only reason I'm not giving 1 star is because I read other 1 star reviews of people in the same situation and their refunds were processed via credit card and seems like there were delays in getting the money processed. So at least in my case, I was offered cash on the spot and didn't have to wait for the refund. read more

I attending the Bob Dylan film, A Complete Unknown at this theater. I had been there a number of times before. I booked the last seat on a busy nite for a popular film and it was in row 2 ( or B, ) but, in fact, it was right in front of the screen, not more than10 ft back and not elevated at all. -There was not a way I could have stayed looking up at the screen. this should not be a viable seating option. However, I was able to find one empty seat in the back row and I changed seats. just before the film started. otherwise, I would have asked for a refund. However, the sound system and screen were first rate! I could hear the dialogue, even though the conversations were quiet; even Dylan's mumble was still discernible. This is in contrast to the second time I saw the same film with 3 other people at the Fairfax theater. None of us could hear the dialogue and discern what was being said and the sound was too low to enjoy when the music was featured. So on balance, I'd happily go to the tiberon theater and just make sure the seat was further back in the middle of the theater. read more

Extremely disappointing experience at the Cinelounge. The vibes and theaters are cute and have always liked going here, but recently had a very disappointing experience. Ordered popcorn and what I was given was stale and cold. After tasting, obviously had been sitting out for hours. When I mentioned to staff and asked if they could make fresh popcorn I received a no with shrug and no apology. For two guests who just paid $44 to see a movie and then $9 for cold and stale popcorn it makes me not want to return. read more

What a great place to watch a movie!! I don't think I want to go back to a regular cinema. We watched the new Raiders of the Lost Ark in the Lagoon Room which is set up as someone's private screening room with swivel chairs, a couch, bean bag chairs, and high tables with bar stools in the back. We bought a bottle of wine and some gourmet popcorn before coming in and it was perfect. We sat on the swivel chairs which have a table in front for your food and drink. My kids grabbed bean bag chairs and lounged on them as if we were home. They have a small but nice food menu which you can order from before coming in and the guy behind the counter was very nice and helpful answering our questions. We are most definitely coming back to see Mission Impossible! Tiburon, Marin County and San Francisco, what are you waiting for?? read more

YES! Hollywood has arrived in Tiburon, California! Cinelounge is going to the way a movie nerd like me goes back to the movies again. I noticed the marketing on Instagram and headed on over to Tiburon to check it out. It's a little out of the way considering I drive from San Rafael past 2 different Century Theaters just to see a movie at this one. But it's not just about seeing a movie anymore. It's about relaxing. Conversing with friends. Enjoying a glass of wine or some great snacks (snack bar not quite open yet, but food is available from Salt & Pepper next door). The presentation and sound were amazing. I LOVE that they play the sound louder - the way it is recommended by the studio. People wanting the sound lower so that they can converse during a movie - NO - you are not supposed to talk with each other at the movie! Discuss it after! I'll be back next week to keep catching up on all the movies I missed this Summer. Something tells me there are plenty of safe, free places to park in Downtown Tiburon - but I didn't want to risk it on a Saturday night and get into trouble, so I used the Main Street Lot and paid. Tickets are available online ahead of time via their website. General Admission is $19.59 - which honestly is only about $3.50 to $4.00 more than Cinemark for a FAR better experience. Employees here also cared very much about what they were doing. They even went out of the way to offer a complimentary bottle of water while the snack bar was still being worked on. Service with a smile in a plush environment? Yes please! Thank you! read more

While I love supporting a small family owned business and this place is very cute, there are definitely holes to be filled. There is NO MENTION WHATSOEVER on the website that there is open seating. I reserved a love seat with a given seat number. Got to the theatre to find someone in my seat...okay...went to the front to make sure I was in the correct theatre because my seat was taken.. Got a very snarky "what do you mean", "open seating" response. How were we supposed to know that? By the time we got back to the theatre there were no open seats left and we were stuck scrunched up breaking our necks in the very front. 30 minutes of a motorcycle shooting chase scene screaming in your face was not ideal. They need to be more clear of this open seating thing upon check in AND on the website so people can arrive and get their concessions accordingly. read more

this place needs help - a lot of it. it was ridiculously overpriced for what my parents and I got in return when we went for a showing. Their "hot popcorn" was stale and cold and their "cinelounge brand wine" had cork in it. It was freezing inside the theater we were in. this isnt the movie experience you want or even the customer service you'd expect. get some help/new management. We will be going to Mill Valley or Larkspur for future movies. read more

This place is awesome. Immaculately clean with an awesome vibe you feel before you even walk through the door. The movie screens are crisp and clear with top notch sounds systems to match. A treasure movie theatre. We love going here with our kids after a blackies bike ride.

This is a very special neighborhood theater. You can tell the operators put so much heart and personality into every detail of the spaces. The Lagoon Room is ultra cozy with velvet curtains and club chairs and is a great place to watch a soccer or football game. We watched some of the World Cup matches here and absolutely loved it! The sound in the theater is off the charts and the lounge chairs and loveseats are super comfortable. Skip the big chains and enjoy a flick at Cinelounge. We recommend!! read more

This is really a zero star rating! We arrived early for the 2:00 showing of Barbie on Saturday July 29 2023. We had pre purchased tickets on line. We were told the starting time had been changed by the owner and to return later in the afternoon. We did. We arrived at the later time and we were told by Ricky C. that the movie time had been changed back to the original time of 2:00 by the owner, Christian. We requested a refund. Ricky said a refund was generated for our two tickets, but he could not give us a receipt. Upon checking for several days, no refund has appeared. read more
